“It’s good to have an aim in life,” Ye Yuwei replied impa.s.sively. “Why don’t you help me pluck the vegetable leaves? I have to prepare dinner for a few people.”

Gu Juexi’s eyes were wide in disbelief. “You want a young master to pluck vegetable leaves for you?”

“Then the young master will find himself without dinner.” Ye Yuwei smirked and gazed at Gu Juexi and put a bunch of vegetables in his hands. “Remove the leaves.”

Gu Juexi furrowed his brows and regretted coming into the kitchen.

Ye Yuwei turned back to the sink and continued was.h.i.+ng the vegetables. “Can you not put on a long face and reason nicely with him? He will understand.”

If he could be so gentle towards his son when his son was asleep, he could do the same when his son was awake.

“I can’t do it,” Gu Juexi scoffed. “He doesn’t treat me as his daddy. I’m only an aim to him.”

Ye Yuwei was rendered speechless. The battle between the father and the son might never end.
