“Tianya, can you hear me? Tianya!” Ruan Zeyan pulled Ling Tianya up and shook her. “Ling Tianya, open your eyes! Look at me!”

When Ling Tianya heard Ruan Zeyan’s voice, she slowly opened her eyes. Her eyes were bloodshot now. They were so red it almost looked as if blood was going to drip out.

Ruan Zeyan’s pupils constricted, and his heart began to tremble. He tried his best to speak calmly and slowly. “Look and me and try to breathe. In and out, in and out, slowly. Don’t think about anything else. Just look at me and think about what I said.”

Ling Tianya was staring right into Ruan Zeyan’s eyes. He was all she could see right now. She tried to regulate her breathing by following his instructions.

After a while, her eyes recovered and went back to normal and her breathing became regular again.

“I told you, you are my painkiller. I was right about that.” Ling Tianya was pale and her voice was weak.

Ruan Zeyan’s heart ached as he watched his wife try to conceal her pain. She was cracking a joke and smiling at him to rea.s.sure him.

Ling Tianya was still buried into his chest. She could hear his strong heart beating away, and they stayed in that position for a while. She slowly said, “Grandma said that I’ve recovered well, so I don’t have to reject you anymore.”

She slid her small and smooth hands underneath Ruan Zeyan’s s.h.i.+rt and rested her palms on the strong and muscular body beneath her.

She could tell that Ruan Zeyan had tensed his body. Every part of his torso was taut and firm now.

His expression changed and his gaze deepened. His breathing quickened until he was almost panting. Suddenly, he grabbed her hand from underneath his s.h.i.+rt and he forced himself to say, “No, you just had a migraine attack. Let’s not play with fire now.”

Ling Tianya was comforted. She knew that he had been holding himself back for a while now. He was trying to be considerate during her recovery period.

She looked up into Ruan Zeyan’s eyes, her pale face adorned with a blissful smile. She reached up and kissed Ruan Zeyan’s lips, and her hands began to run down his s.h.i.+rt as she tried to take it off.

Ling Tianya’s initiative was the straw the broke the camel’s back. His strong body leaned over Ling Tianya’s slender body.

Ling Tianya was the one who took initiative, but she regretted it in the morning.

She should have known. She shouldn’t have seduced him. Even though he had been gentle with her, he was still strong and full of stamina.

While she was lying in bed, aching from the night before, Ruan Zeyan was energetic and high-spirited.

Every time this happened, Ling Tianya was grateful that she was living in such a luxurious household. There wasn’t anything that she needed to worry about. Even her child was well taken care of by Aunty w.a.n.g.

On the ground floor, Madame Ruan and w.a.n.g Yazhi had just finished breakfast. When they saw Ruan Zeyan climb down the stairs, they asked, “Where is your wife?”

“She’s a little tired from last night, so she’s still asleep,” Ruan Zeyan answered nonchalantly.

Madame Ruan and w.a.n.g Yazhi were all understanding people. They instantly knew why she was so tired. The two of them exchanged glances and smiled. “Let her sleep for a while longer then.”
