In the midst of pressing affairs, Li Mengxia felt sympathetic toward her master. She could see his solitary figure and felt quite sorry for him. In theory, she should not allow herself to get distracted even the slightest bit when maneuvering the vessel. However, Li Mengxia's attention was taken away for a brief moment, and the s.h.i.+p started to face turbulence as though she was sailing a pirate s.h.i.+p through violent seas.

The s.h.i.+p was not very s.p.a.cious. Under tremendous jolts, Di Fuyi's body threw himself at Gu Xijiu. She did not see him coming and collapsed onto the ground along with him. She had become his cus.h.i.+on!

He was tall, and she was pet.i.te. Hence, Gu Xijiu was entirely in his embrace when he pinned her to the ground. His scent shrouded her entirely, and Gu Xijiu's heart started to beat out of control, and her face was utterly reddened.

She yearned for his embrace, but there were outsiders around them. Two pairs of eyes were watching, and so, she quickly pushed him away. "Get up."

Without any hesitation, Di Fuyi got up. "It was too b.u.mpy. I was not careful enough." He then turned to reprimand the one who caused him trouble, "Li Mengxia, are you looking for trouble? How could you sail the s.h.i.+p in such a way? I will deduct your pay once we are back!"

Li Meng Xia trembled. Intimidated, she responded timidly, "Master, please do not. I am too poor even to afford a dress. I bought this dress on credit."

Di Fuyi answered, in all seriousness, "I don't care, unless Miss Gu does not blame you, or else I will deduct your money."

Li Mengxia quickly begged Gu Xijiu for forgiveness. "Miss Gu, please forgive me. Please help me ask for master's forgiveness. I have dependents at home, so I cannot afford to have any reduction in my pay."

Gu Xijiu did not know what to say. She was the victim. What was there to blame Li Mengxia for? It was Di Fuyi who seized the opportunity to take advantage of her!

Li Mengxia was distracted even further while she talked and the s.h.i.+p sailed in an even worse course, as though they were going to switch from a pirate s.h.i.+p into roller coaster ride. Gu Xijiu stood up immediately and ordered, "I shall sail it."

She pushed Li Mengxia aside and took control of the s.h.i.+p. It became clear that she was more familiar with the systems of the vessel than Li Mengxia as it began to sail in a fast and steady course. Li Mengxia was impressed. "Miss Gu, you are so familiar with the controls! Has Mo Zhao taught you how to maneuver it?"

"No, I learned it myself by observing the crew the last time we tried to escape."

Li Mengxia could feel that her pride was hurt.

Gu Xijiu took some time to acquire the skills to operate the s.h.i.+p. When she could finally control it, the crew member she tricked had even flattered her for her sharp intelligence. 

Gu Xijiu was indeed extraordinary. It was no wonder that her master was so fond of her, so much that he would risk his life and dignity for her.

At first, Li Mengxia was a little aggrieved for her master, as she thought that Gu Xijiu did not deserve Celestial Master Zuo's fondness. However, now they seemed to be a perfect match with a complement of talents.

Fortunately, Li Mengxia did not forget to beg for her forgiveness. "Miss Gu, you will not blame me, will you? I am very poor."

Gu Xijiu was speechless. She turned to look at Li Mengxia. "How could the overlord of the Secret Service Agency be poor? Are you going to say that you have elders at home who are almost eighty years old and also infants who still cry piteously for food?"

Li Mengxia's face reddened instantly. "That is not the case. I am only 23 years old and an orphan, so I have no parents. I am not married yet, so I do not have any infants."

"What do you mean by having dependents at home then?"

"I meant all the elders from the An Ying Clan. I have to spend a great amount of money on them. Also, the Secret Service Agency has recently recruited a batch of new disciples. They are still young and require a lot of money as well. As an overlord, I do not have any money to spare for me even to afford a dress." Li Mengxia clenched her fist in anger.
