Everyone was worried because they were merely waiting for death at that point. There was no way out of the place, and hope slowly dissipated with time. Mu Feng and the other three messengers were overwhelmed by what they had witnessed. They could not see any hope as well for the people, but they could not say it out loud in fear that it would dampen their hopes. They still needed to encourage the people there to the best of their abilities. 

The only hope they could think of was the return of the Lord! "The Lord will come back; she will come back and save us all!"

"The Lord is extremely skillful and intelligent. She will definitely find a way to destroy these iron-armored monsters! Let's keep the faith and be patient."

"The Lord will not abandon us. She must be busy with something. But with her abilities, she can quickly get herself out of trouble and come back to save everyone."

The four messengers needed to keep the spirits high so that everyone could hold on a little longer. In the beginning, it was easy to keep them high-spirited; but, as the days continued to pa.s.s, everyone grew more and more anxious. 

"The Lord has been gone for two years. Perhaps, she has met with an accident!"

"Maybe she has abandoned us…"

"She might have been attracted by the wonderful life in Upper Bound and is no longer coming back to Starry Crescent Land. After all, there is nothing here for her."

Discouraging words started to circulate Tianju Hall. The people had lost their hope in the Lord and even in Mu Feng and the other messengers. Fortunately, Mu Feng and others were good at managing people. Together with the leaders from the Tianju Hall, they were able to pacify the situation momentarily. 

Nonetheless, desperation and despair grew with starvation. The shadow of death was hanging on their heads, and everyone did not know where to go or what to do. It was only until one fine day that the four messengers suddenly remembered the existence of one person all at the same time - the former Lord, Celestial Master Zuo, who is also known as Di Fuyi!

This memory came to them so suddenly, as if it was initially locked away in the deepest part of their mind but was suddenly triggered by a mechanism and floated all the way to the surface. It was an overwhelming feeling for them to process all the information at once, and their eyes turned red at the thought of it. It was unbelievable!

The four of them quickly regrouped and shared their sudden revelations, realizing that it was fairly consistent with one another. In a state of frenzy, they quickly searched for Di Fuyi's friends and confidants to check if they had experienced anything similar. It seemed everything was real! 

Mu Feng and the three other messengers were filled with emotions, especially Mu Feng. He was the most intelligent among the messengers and had multiple perspectives in his mind. He proposed a possibility, "Did we suddenly remember the previous Lord because he was reborn? Is he coming back?!"

This a.s.sumption had inspired many people and gave everyone new hope! However, as time went by, this new hope started to fade again. It had been nearly a month since they recovered this long lost memory. By now, the people in Tianju Hall had resorted to eating the roots and bark of trees, but they still could see the shadow of the Lord, Huang Tu. He never came back!

Perhaps, it was only their memories that were restored. It was possible that his immortalization was a fact they could not change. If that were true, there was no way for him to save the people in Tianju Hall from the problematic situation. 

In the past, Gu Xijiu had made a lot of directed audio spells for her subordinates and followers. Mu Feng and the other three messengers taught this skill to the other people in the Starry Crescent Land, and soon, everyone created them. Before the most recent time that Gu Xijiu went to the Upper Bound, almost all the masters in Starry Crescent Land with spiritual power higher than level five had one directed audio spell in hand. It was easy for them to connect with each other using this device.
