Mu Feng was thrilled to see Gu Xijiu, but he was reluctant to ask her anything about Di Fuyi. Since he did not come along with her to Tianju Hall, the messengers were unsure whether or not he had been resurrected. As this was obviously a very sensitive topic for Gu Xijiu, they did not want to risk hurting her feelings just to satisfy their curiosity. 

She took long a long time to get over Di Fuyi, so they did not think it was appropriate to mention anything about the past. In fact, they did not even ask how Gu Xijiu had been for the past two years.

While talking to them, Gu Xijiu suddenly saw something that caught her attention. She was looking at Yan Chen was busy cooking in an open kitchen; he was not alone. There was a lady in a pink dress standing beside him.

The woman's eyes were big and bright, which fully complimented her small, pinkish lips. When she smiled, her two dimples were very apparent. The woman looked like Lan Waihu. Was Lan Waihu really there, helping Yan Chen with the fire while he cooked? They were obviously having a good time together in the kitchen.

Gu Xijiu also noticed something else about Lan Waihu. While most of the people looked weak and starved, Lan Waihu looked just as healthy as ever, only slightly slimmer. She also kept looking at Gu Xijiu but seemed to be afraid to approach her. Therefore, Gu Xijiu decided to make the first move.

Both Yan Chen and Lan Waihu were close friends of hers. After all, they had been through so many hards.h.i.+ps and fought so many battles together back in school. To Gu Xijiu, they were more than just friends. 

Although Gu Xijiu had become the Lord, she never ceased to visit them whenever she was in the Lower Bound. All three of them had forged a strong bond over the years and maintained it quite well despite their different schedules.

The lovely couple had been trying to have a baby, but could not, which was probably somehow related to Lan Waihu's bloodline in the Blue Fox family. She was eager to be a mother and to share a child together with the man she loved, but their attempts always ended in vain.

In the past, Gu Xijiu had tried to examine her health condition and even offered her some supplements to help her become better prepared for pregnancy. Nonetheless, nothing seemed to be able to turn things around. 

Luckily, both Yan Chen and Lan Waihu had achieved a level nine spiritual power. In return, their lifespan had been greatly increased as well. They could live for at least 1,000 years, so Yan Chen was not worried about having a baby for now. He often told Lan Waihu that there was plenty of time in the future, so there was no need to rush.

They were genuinely a very loving and blissful couple. Sometimes, Gu Xijiu wished that she could have a love story that was just the same as theirs. 

As soon as they saw Gu Xijiu, they tried to contain their bursting excitement and greeted her formally. Nonetheless, she dismissed their overly courteous welcome and started talking with Lan Waihu, who seemed very happy to see her again.

Smilingly, Gu Xijiu listened to all her stories, just like before. Lan Waihu was just as adorable and lively as Gu Xijiu could remember. In fact, nothing about her seemed to have changed.

Yan Chen also loved Lan Waihu very much. He pampered her and took care of her the very best that he could. Thus, there was no need for Lan Waihu to grow up and face the cruel world on her own.

Upon seeing Lan Waihu, she recalled the injured woman that she saw in the base of the Blue Fox family. The woman was wearing a military suit, and her injuries seemed rather severe. She looked despaired and unhappy, which was a completely different personality trait from what Gu Xijiu knew Lan Waihu to possess. She remembered recognizing that the lady's temperament was very different from Lan Waihu's. 

Therefore, Gu Xijiu concluded that the woman before her eyes should be the real Lan Waihu. Nonetheless, she still wondered who was the woman in the military suit. Could she be Lan Waihu's relative? Was it only a coincidence that they shared the same look? Many questions had arisen, but Gu Xijiu had to wait for the right time to ask them.

All of a sudden, Lan Waihu's bloated belly had caught Gu Xijiu's attention. "Waihu, are you pregnant?"

Lan Waihu blushed crimson as she nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, for three months now."

"Congratulations! Both of you deserve the best!" Gu Xijiu was so happy for her. She knew how much Lan Waihu wanted a baby. While they spoke, Yan Chen was sitting quietly at the side, seemingly preoccupied. He was never the talkative type, but today, he was unusually quiet.
