"The humans are too crafty, we had just killed one of the most troublesome Grand Lord of humans, and they have its successor ready!" The old snake cursed as it saw the human using the Fortress of Mirrors.

"Don't worry, Chaes will handle it; end of the day, there will be no lord of gla.s.s," replied the Foxwomen, getting a side-eye of the old Werewolf in return which made her whole body shudder uncontrollably, despite having a huge distance between them.

It was another failure on her part; she is a spymaster, and she should have been able to find it out. She had guessed that one of two students of lord of gla.s.s might have comprehended his fortress of mirrors, but it was just a guess, not a confirmation, as the grand art had never been used openly by then.

Normally she would hope Chaes' failure at every turn might even conspire for his failure considering their tribe didn't get along, but this time she is desperately hoping he would succeed. She had even messaged him and promised the resources he had been trying to get for a few years; he just needed to succeed in wiping the humans.

She had not only done this one battlefield but all seven; she had contacted leaders of all battlefields and promised them heavy rewards as long they were able to wipe the humans out.

She will be punished for this failure and might even lose her position as the spymaster. She did not want it to happen; losing this position would be a great shame for her, so she made an effort, throwing resources and artifacts that she had collected over the centuries.

It pains her, but she has no other choice. She needs to show her sincerity and the price she is willing to play; it will be the only way she and her tribe will survive and even thrive in the rapid change that is happening in her race.

"This human girl is quite powerful; its comprehension must have reached the Grand Lord cla.s.s quite a while ago," said the old snake while smirking at her failure.

"Yes, it will be troublesome if it had reached the level of an old gla.s.s of swords," said Basrae softly. "I would not let that happen. If Chaes did not kill it, in ten minutes, I will personally take action and kill it," said old Werewolf, and everything accented.

They could not let another powerful lord of gla.s.s appear; they had to make big preparation and spend a fortune to kill the last lord of gla.s.s, and there was some luck also involved. 

That b.a.s.t.a.r.d had nearly got through the mirror dimension, and if they had not used that precious artifact that only old Werewolf had the power to activate, they would not have been able to stop it from running away through the mirror dimension.

"What are we going to do with Zaar? We can't leave it alone on the battlefield where it is free to wrap its devious strings around our people and make them disappear," asked the old snake.

"For now, nothing; I have ordered the others to remain far away from it. Once Chaes or his descendent finish their battle, they will kill Zaar," said the old Werewolf; the decision may seem confusing, but it is wise.

While they could send another powerhouse, who knows, Zaar might wrap it too and make it disappear. To remedy that, they could send the limited High Grandmaster with protection against the string, and it might be able to kill zaar, but Zaar is not alone on the battlefield.

If it had been other Grand Lord other than the lord of gla.s.s, they might have sent it, but with the lord of gla.s.s present, things became a little complicated.

Unlike the host of other arts, lord of gla.s.s could attack silently, and many of their attacks are silent. It could kill all the Grimm on the battlefield, and Chaes won't be able to stop it. It is due to the grand art they have targeted it, despite it not being the strongest Grand Lord, as it is the most troublesome to deal with.

They were watching the battle when suddenly the expressions of the old Werewolf changed, and a grinning killing smile appeared on his face of the old Werewolf.

"I will succeed," said the old Werewolf to all, and his projection disappeared, leaving all the Grimms in bubbling antic.i.p.ation.

"I hope the lord will succeed; his success would instantly fulfill the dream of our ancestors. We will accomplish a thing they have never been able to do in their lifetime," said the Foxwomen, with a fervent look in her eyes.

"They would have succeeded too if they didn't have incompetent people you in the leaders.h.i.+p," said the old snake, which instantly made the projection of old Foxwomen flicker.

"What did you say, old snake?" asked the Foxwomen with gritted teeth and glaring eyes. "I am saying, you are useless of the spymaster; Jhofa was a thousand times better than you. If he was with us, we wouldn't have had such intelligence failure," said the old snake.

"You shouldn't make enemies in your old agee, old snake; who knows, your tribe might be exterminated after your death," she said, openly threatening her colleague or enemy by his swords.

"You are too young to threaten me, little fox, and I am going to die anytime soon, or at least not before a useless person like you," it said back with a snort, which made the foxwomen so angry that her eyes begin to glow like a sun.

"Sryn, the old snake, focus on the battles," said the ratman; stopping them before this verbal fight makes them mortal enemies. They do not want irreconcilable rivalry appearing between two powerful tribes in a time like this.

n.o.body said anything till the sudden change occurred on the battlefield, which lighted up the faces of all the Grimms sitting at the table.

"The descendent of Chaes is finally done something," said the foxwomen, seeing how he had blasted the leader of the human into the ground.

"Now, just kill it," said the old snake with a smile.

That smile did not last on its face for long; about three seconds later, something happened that froze the expression of the old snake's face and the face of every other Grimm sitting on the table before its eyes went wide before as if it had understood something.

It looked at Ratman and opened its mouth but closed it; there were only three Grand Lords present available, and they could not be moved unless it was an order from the head of the coven. As all three of them guarding the extremly important places, leaving them would have drastic consequences.

This might be a trap set up for them, and he could not afford to let them fall into it, at least not now when they have so few Grand Lords and did not have a complete idea about humans' strength, especially when they had just revealed a Grand Lord.

Who knows, there might be one or two who are hiding secretly; they are not the only ones looking to end the war once and for all.

He could not take chances, but he could not also let the leader of the humans live, she represented something that would be a disaster if it grew, and he would have finished it off before it grew completely.
