It was an hour before practice resumed again; he stood in the sidelines watching, deep in thought.

Haruka didn't expect the two to flirt right in front of him. While he had the advantage of pretending to fall asleep on her lap, he still loses though. That smile she wore on her face is different. Does he really have to surrender? When they were on the island, the two of them got closer. Even before then, their relations.h.i.+p was developing.

She even admitted that she felt something that wasn't, friends.h.i.+p for him. It really looked like a bigger picture was being formed for their future together. Was he being too hopeful? Was she forced to say those things in front of him? Look how happy she is, being with Austin Kiryu. He really doesn't stand a chance.

He doesn't stand a chance, and yet... He still loves her, he still wants her. Everything about her. Lila suddenly came over, "Ah Haruka, can I ask.."

He slapped her hand away, still brooding. "Haruka?" she called out.

Really, it makes little sense. Why she stands up for him, why she cries for his sake… This girl, what does she feel towards him? Should he ask her up front? Even though he made that pact to wait, he can't do so anymore. He grows increasingly impatient as the day goes by.

Lila kept pace with him, but he slapped her hand away again. This time, however, he heard a large thud. Huh? Haruka looked over and found the girl collapsed on the ground.

"H-hey?!!"

Silver hair rushed past and scooped the girl up.

"My Kiryu," Lila said weakly.

".. Fever?" Austin Kiryu did not seem surprised.

"Yes…" she replied.

"How stupid my Lila.."

Haruka could only stand there and watch. He.. Even though he was so close, he couldn't do anything. She probably called out to him because she felt unwell and wanted to rest. She went to him first instead of disturbing Austin Kiryu, and yet he slapped her hand away, twice. What is he doing?

Teras.h.i.+ma Family Vacation Home, his room.

Karas.h.i.+ma didn't want to leave her behind here. However, Sumire-san somehow persuaded him. Lila's only been here for less than three days and she's already sick. The environment in this place is good for those with darkness though, so it shouldn't be an external factor. What happened? Was it because of the visitor she had or was she affected by Karas.h.i.+ma's turbulent emotions?

Seeing Lila cutely peer at him from the blanket, he walked over and gently kissed her lips, "Quit doing that,"

"Am I not allowed to stare at you Kiryu?"

"You can stare but gee…"

Lila laughed, "Um, so I can stare at you Kiryu? I enjoy staring."

"And I enjoy kissing, but you don't see me doing that every three seconds."

"I like that too Kiryu!"

Gee, she really is so cute. He gently kissed her forehead, "My Lila, let me finish cooking first and then we can flirt all you want."

"Okay!"

Kiryu walked back over to the kitchen area and quickly whipped up a meal for the girl. In the middle of this though, he found another person peering at him. He chuckled softly and carried the tray. Hos.h.i.+ko followed him and he opened the door to the room Lila was staying in.

"Hos.h.i.+ko, greet your sister."

While he showed a picture to Lila the other day, and they met briefly during the fight the other day. They were not formally introduced to one another.

"IlLilonee-cgan."

At that, the weak girl immediately shot up, "Hey, lay down!"

But Lila doesn't listen and picked up Hos.h.i.+ko, "Wahhh! She's cute!!" That's her reaction?

"Hos.h.i.+ko-chan?"

"Y—yes?"

"I'm your sister."

Seeing Hos.h.i.+ko turn shy, he blinked. What's with this reaction...and why does he suddenly feel threatened...

Lila played with Hos.h.i.+ko until the little girl fell asleep. The little girl was struggling to stay awake since she wanted to play with Lila more. But, eventually, she reached her limit.

"To think I'd end up with such a cute sister.."

"Why does that surprise you so much? She's like you. Cute and strange. The Teras.h.i.+ma family have strange genes."

Lila hits him and he dodges and laughed.

"Has anyone confirmed what powers that child has?"

"Not completely.."

"I see."

Sensing Lila's worried tone, he made his way over and hugged her. The girl was staring at the window, "Go back to sleep."

"I'm okay. I want to watch the scenery."

"You still have a fever, rest."

Rather something seemed star— he paused in mid-thought seeing her sudden cold expression. Huh

"When were you going to tell me, that you lived with her?"

"Who did you hear that from?"

"That doesn't matter does it?" Lila said coldly.

Uh oh, she's mad. Even though Lila is normally so innocent and cute around him. Once in a while, she gets like this.

"Nothing happened, our situation differs from you and Karas.h.i.+ma.."

Kiryu regretted his words a second later.

"I can't believe you'd even make that comparison! While Haruka was forcing me, it cut our connection. I thought it was because of my mixed feelings, but I see it was because you were paying so much attention to somebody else!"

Realizing her fever was rising, her face flushed, he grabbed hold of her, "Lila, hey calm down!"

"No, I can't take this anymore… I don't want to.. I don't want to let you go Kiryu. I like Haruka, yes, but I love you. If I let you go, you'll just date her. Even though Haruka sees other girls and I'm uncomfortable, I don't end up feeling like this. Please Kiryu, please... I don't want…"

He pulled her into his arms, "I love you, Lila, believe me. I only love and want you. Once you calm down. I will tell you everything, so please…"

When she finally calmed down, Lila immediately fell asleep. Kiryu placed his hand on the girl's forehead. Still hot. He gets a new towel and soaked it with cold water. It's painful for him to Lila. He understands the girl's feelings all too well. Lila still loves him the most, he understands that. However, Lila, she won't be able to leave Karas.h.i.+ma alone. Staying by his side and caring for him the way she has been, will gradually become difficult unless she's his girlfriend. Surely, she understood that too. Otherwise, she wouldn't have had that talk with him.

But the break-up talk would upset anybody.. He should have chosen his words more carefully, and what's more. Didn't she find out about Selia way too quickly? As Kiryu was wracking his brains, thinking about it. He received a message on his phone.

Kiryu's gaze darkened.

So it was her. So that's what she's going to do? Last time he told her straight up that he would stand by Lila, no matter what. Did she feel humiliated by that? It's true he had been helping X compose songs for a while, but he wasn't their official composer. She doesn't have to get too worked up about it. No, that's not it. Rosalia isn't that simple.
