Present Day, July 2035, Bar.

Haruka bolted up, sweat falling rapidly from his face. He looked around and discovered he was still in the room he rented out in the bar. Where did she go? She didn't leave, did she? The sound of the rain increasing interrupted his thoughts. It's so noisy. The doors opened a few seconds later revealing blue hair.

"... Ah, don't get up! Your fever is high.." Lila said.

Once she was close, he grabbed hold of her waist and pulled her towards him, in hailing the girl's sweet scent.

"Ummm. Haruka?"

"..."

"Haruka, I'll lay down next to you. So let go for a second."

Haruka nodded, and Lila changes the towel on his forehead, before she climbed on the bed, "You might catch it."

She laughed softly, "It's okay, hanyou fevers aren't contagious."

Hanyou fever. When was the last time he had one?

"Can we kiss?" he asked.

The girl's whole face turned red at his request. Was it too sudden? She shyly nodded, surprising him. Is it all right? That's strange. Well, whatever. He leaned forward and nibbled and placing light kisses on the girl's bottom lip.

"Open your mouth…" he muttered.

Lila shook her head.

"Come on…" he urged her, as he licked behind her ear.

Eventually, the girl opened her mouth. It surprised him how easy it was. It surprised him how her hands made its way around her neck, pulling him closer to her. But that didn't last long when he felt his vision blur, Lila noticed immediately and got up.

"Ahhh! The side effects! Wait, I'll get your medicine.."

Haruka tugged on her hand, "Forget it."

"But--" Lila protested.

"Let's continue."

"N-not now."

Not now? He raised his eyebrows. She really is acting strangely. Even if she is getting caught up in the flow, normally she would never suggest continuing. What's with her? Did she hit her head? His thoughts broke off when the girl's lips lightly brushed against his.

"L-later, Haruka." Lila said fl.u.s.tered.

"Yeah." He somehow nodded.

He dislikes being interrupted when he was with Lila. However, Haruka had a few questions he wanted to ask. So when he saw Mikami through the intercom, he opened the door.

"The chance she broke up with Austin Kiryu for you?" Mikami asked.

"Yeah."

"High."

"And there's also the chance she believed all those rumors about Kiryu-san and his a.s.sistant too," Mikami added.

He doubts it's the second one. Before Haruka could ask any more, Lila reentered the room. Haruka pulled the girl onto the couch and resumed with what he was doing before.

"Haruka, eat first before taking your medicine…"

Haruka, however, said nothing to that and continued to inhale the girl's scent. Is she wearing perfume now? She smells nice. Rather, these days she's dressed up even at home. Is she falling for him? He still isn't sure.

"T-tell me...um.." Lila stuttered.

Mikami chuckled, "I know she smells good. But you probably ought to let go of her for a second.."

"Hah? Why do I…"

Seeing how red the girl was, he pulled away. She's cute.

"So, why did you come here Mikami?" Haruka asked.

"... Tomorrow, you'll be having a visitor."

Sensing Mikami's tone, Lila understood and quickly got up, "I'll clean downstairs for a while."

He nodded and watched as the girl left. Haruka turned to Mikami.

"Natsuki?"

"Correct."

Haruka sighed, "d.a.m.n."

"Though Boss plan still stands. He will probably want you to focus on Natsuki-san for a while."

"That old man is a pain."

"I know." Mikami paused, "Are you going to listen?"

After Mikami left, he found himself distracted.

"H—Haruka..."

"Hm?" He was in deep thought. What is he going to do about Natsuki? He doesn't want to sleep with her. But if she comes by, it will end up like that — what a pain.

"Um, are we not going to continue…?" Lila shyly asked.

At that comment, he paused and thoroughly had a look at Lila. Yeah, someone must have hit her on the head. Well, whatever the reason is, he will not refuse her sudden boldness. Haruka cupped his cheek in his hands, gently caressing the girl's face before he leaned down and kissed her.

It didn't take long before that single kiss became more pa.s.sionate.

"Haruka…"

"Well now, I don't know what's wrong with you. But you've been tempting me since earlier." Haruka murmured.

Honestly, he's surprised he still has done nothing. He brings his lips towards the girl's neck, "Where should I start hmm?"

"Wha—Wha…"

… She's even reacting oddly. He genuinely doesn't know what's wrong. Should he be taking advantage of the fact she's acting strange? He shook his head; there's no need to hesitate regarding this matter; he recalled the conversation we had with Mikami. Soon, he won't even be able to touch her like this.

He pushes her down until he was hovering over her, "H-har.."

"Ari, I can't hold back any longer…" Haruka murmured.

"..."

"Don't worry; this won't hurt…"

To his surprise, the girl's arms wrapped around his neck and she murmured something so quietly. Haruka took that as a sign of approval. The sound of the rain is slowly drowned out.
