Dream Star 201 White Or Red Rose

July 31st, 2035 (Apartment Complex, H Street - Lila and Haruka's place)

Lila's bolted up from the bed and examined her surroundings. Despite the throbbing pain in her head and her heart, she focused on searching for him. The spot beside her was empty as it ought to be. It's not like they had s.e.x, so she wasn't expecting him to be there. But the events that happened. Lila looked up at the clock, almost two hours ago were still clear to her. He offered his blood. But she drank too much and saw something she shouldn't have. It's only natural to get angry.

When drinking someone's blood, one must be careful not to pry too deeply into that person's thoughts. She saw something that he had kept from her. However, that's not what bothered her. Where did he go? Is he still around? Her thoughts broke off when she caught a glimpse of a bouquet of roses by the bedside table. On the day he took her for a drive, he brought her to a beautiful rose garden.

'You are more beautiful.' It was the first time she heard such words from him. Haruka is not one to spout endless streams of cheesy lines like Kiryu. Even when he said those words, Lila could sense something behind them. A stronger meaning. The throbbing sensation in her heart had yet to vanish as she recalled the events from two hours ago. It was the first time that Haruka had taken her blood in such a rough manner. Vivid memories appeared in her mind.

Memories from when he forcibly had s.e.x with her, and she rushed to the bathroom and threw up. She didn't have to look at the mirror to know how pale she was. Her whole body felt drained of strength, and her head was spinning. She should go back to sleep. It's still morning, even if she were to return to sleep for a few hours. There would still be time for their date.

Lila walked back into the bedroom, and towards the bed. Her attention went on the vase of red roses. Red, since coming to this town. Since she realized the darkness was scary, she has become terrified of that color.

Seeing it now made her nauseous, it reminded her too much of blood. Why roses? Did Haruka send someone to fetch these from that garden to apologize? Apologize. The one who should apologize is her, apologies for looking. But at the same time, Lila questioned herself. Why does she have to apologize?

She's not the one who aggressively took blood. So cruel, it reminds her of what happened then, she held back from throwing up and shook her head.

While she found it hard to find excuses for his behavior. Lila understood the meaning of his actions. Anyone would feel uncomfortable being pried on. That's why one doesn't usually take blood unless it's from their significant other. She and Haruka are dating now. But in the hanyou world, that means nothing. Oh, now that she thinks about it. Is Kiryu still her partner, her fiance? She should have asked him. Lila picked up one rose and noticed another one hidden amongst the red. It was a single white rose.

A white rose. A white rose symbolizes purity, innocence, Sympathy, Spirituality. For her present situation giving her this was laughable.

Is Haruka trying to tell her that even if she's tainted, she will always be pure and innocent? How stupid. Also if she weren't a hanyou, the word pure and innocent would not suit her at all. These hands hers have long been tainted. Lila almost threw the vase, but she paused and shook her head. He means well. He always has. His actions are a little hard to understand but.. she understands Haruka cares about her. By, giving her this bouquet of roses he's trying to tell her that he still loves her. Or could this be a symbol of goodbye?

Fear arose in her throat at the thought of this being goodbye. Will he leave? This scenario didn't appear out of anywhere. Some of Haruka's actions showed that one day he would disappear and leave her forever. She grabbed the red rose and the white one and exited the room quickly. The blood was rus.h.i.+ng to her head making her incredibly dizzy and blurring her vision. Her senses are dulled, but Lila didn't need to rely on them, she focused on the sound. Hearing clattering, Lila made her way down the stairs and found Haruka looking out of the window.

Haruka stood there. Lila let out a relieved sigh, Haruka hadn't left her. He didn't disappear. Lila wanted to collapse onto the ground, and her feet almost gave away. She could barely hold her body up, but she didn't want to appear weak. Haruka spoke up, with a weak smile he asked her opinion on the roses.

Lila doesn't respond right away. It's funny how well she understands him now. Sure on many occasions, Lila asked him to get to know him. But it felt like she only gained knowledge on minor things. However, those minor things became important to her. It isn't enough though; she wanted to get to know him better.

Lila realized something when she caught a glimpse of her appearance in the mirror. She was no longer wearing the clothes from earlier.

Haruka smiled, "Are you embarra.s.sed? I've already seen everything."

Lila shot him a glare that's hardly the point here. It's embarra.s.sing. But the two of them are dating when she was with Kiryu. She let him change her. Why is she getting all fl.u.s.tered about this with Haruka?

Her thoughts broke off seeing his dim expression, "Sorry, I did it again. Just like that time I..hurt you."

Seeing Haruka sincerely apologizing, she clenched her fist. The vines from the roses caused her hand to get injured. But she didn't care about that. Right now, she wants to focus on him. His lonely back.

What was she doing? What was she doing? Didn't she hurt Haruka when she met with Kiryu? Kiryu even kissed her.

Lila hugged him and murmured. "The roses are beautiful. Even though the meaning behind them is stupid.."

Haruka laughed at that part and Lila continued, "However, rather than roses. I want to wake up with you beside me.."

At that comment, Haruka's hands clasped against her own, "Maybe you should rest all day."

She felt drained of all strength. However, her gaze lands on the bright light outside. "Our date.." Lila murmured.

Haruka smiled, "Rest for a while, and then get ready."

"Yes." Her words are lost when Lila felt her vision blur, however before she could fall on the ground. Haruka lifted her into his arms."Haruka.."

"This time drink, I'm calm now."

Lila hesitantly nodded.

Lila finished quickly not because she was afraid it was because she was worried about him.

"Say... Haruka." Lila mumbled.

"Yeah?"

"I like you. Haruka please dont worry so much. I understand why you're worried but--"

Haruka placed her down on the counter, "You love me right?"

Her face turned red at his words.

"I heard you."

… She can't say it out loud when she's conscious, but she can at least do this much to rea.s.sure him. Haruka's lips curve to a smile as he gently kissed her lips, "You make me so happy.."

He's happy? Her gaze softened that's good.
