Dream Star 207 My First Love Is..

August 3rd, (Lila and Haruka's apartment)

Lila stared at her brother, confusion evident on her face. What is he talking about now? Her first love is Kiryu. Everyone knows that your first love is the person you connect with first. When a hanyou finds the other person's blood as sweet, that's when the first connection is made. Though it varies between each person when they make the contract, she looked back at her brother questioningly. Is he joking around? However, Huan wore a serious look on his face.

"Lilchan, you got into an accident before you met Kiryu and after you met him. It happened in that same year." Her brother spoke slowly, and she could tell how much the memory pained him.

An accident?

But she remembers nothing. "I lost my memory?" Lila said.

"Yes."

"But even then, Kiryu--"

Huan nodded, "His blood was the first one you found sweet."

Lila looked at him puzzled.

"I know this goes against the hanyou theory that people have discovered this whole time. But you've always gone against the hanyou norm, anyway. What happened with you and Haruka, I'm not too sure on the details. n.o.body knows but yourselves. Even Mother and Ren-san only told me little bits and pieces." Huan explained.

"Brother.."

"However Lila, now you're dating Haruka, you need to know."

The truth.

It's not like she didn't have her suspicions about it before. Lila explained it to Kotori-chan too. But she wasn't expecting, this situation. Does that mean it was okay? Okay, for her to tell Haruka. To tell him she loves him. A flash of silver appears in her head, and she shakes her head. "Please tell me, but it won't change anything."

"Yeah. I know."

The story that left her brother's lips felt like it belonged to a stranger. But when he said it, Lila felt herself grow dizzy as several images pa.s.sed through her head. Huh? Lila tried to focus on the images, but the more she did. The dizzier she became. Her brother extended his hand out a light-filled his hands and the pain subsided.

"Brother?"

"It seems like whenever you try to remember. This happens."

"Oh.." Lila murmured.

"Lila, for now, I am only speculating. But someone is interfering. The only thing that would help is Haruka explaining the situation to you. But even this.."

Lila said nothing and recalled the pain from just moments ago. An external force. It could be anyone. Maybe it's the people Kiryu mentioned? But she's never heard of them until now. Lila frowned. This is no good; she can't focus.

Huan caressed her cheek, "Don't stress."

"Brother?"

He smiled, "This is meant to be good news for you. Even though it's slightly confusing, it will help confirm things you couldn't before.."

Confirm things she couldn't.

"When I first met Haruka again last year, it felt like I already met him before and I couldn't help but watch over him. This strong feeling of protection grew when I came here. I didn't want to leave his side. I wanted to be with him all the time."

It makes sense now; she's glad that she could finally confirm it — the confusing feelings in her heart, why Haruka's warmth has always seemed so very familiar to her.

"Truly, I'm very clumsy at this stuff. I don't understand it very well. I thought after I met Kiryu, I started understanding peoples emotions better and my own emotions. But it turns out that wasn't the case; I'm still missing something important. I want to help Haruka. However the reason why I'm beside him isn't simply because I felt obliged to protect him, or even our past. I just want to stay by his side." Lila said softly. She stood up and walked over to the drawers by the window.

She pulled out a box and took something out, before walking back over to where her brother was.

"Kiryu gave me this."

Huan seemed surprised, "His stone."

"Yes, it was foolish of him. I wonder if he understood the consequences behind giving me this."

"And he has yours?" Huan asked.

Lila smiled weakly, "Maybe I shouldn't have done this. Will it get in the way of me dating Haruka, to always have a piece of Kiryu around with me. But I could only lock it away; I couldn't throw it. But I no longer want to wear it. I wish I could unlock my memories as soon as possible, what happened between Haruka and me. If it's like you said and it's something only the two of us knew, then it must be something important." Since they started to date, Lila noticed something. Once in a while, Haruka would get this distant look on his face. Now she understands why he's thinking of the past.

Sometimes he would tremble when holding her, and yet hold her so tightly, as though he's afraid of losing her. This feeling in her heart, it's warm, so very warm.

"I love Haruka, brother."

"Yeah."

"But I really can't tell him this. I'll only ever be able to tell him I like him. And I can't meet with Kiryu. At least for now. The last time we met, I couldn't convey anything properly. Until I've heard the full story, my heart will remain unsettled, and I won't meet with him. But, even with me this way. I still want to help Haruka.." Her sentence fell short when Huan extended his hand out and patted her hair.

"You really have grown, I'm glad you found him. Your first love."

"That sounds awfully cheesy.." Lila murmured.

Huan simply laughed.

For the next hour and a half, Lila could ask more about her brother's travels. Though there's still more, they could talk about regarding that topic. Her brother ended it with that and spoke about his travels with her before she could ask any more questions.

"Ari? I'm back. The doors opened; do we have a guest?" Hearing a familiar voice. She froze, he's back already?!!

Her face turned pale. She forgot to lock the door. But if Haruka finds out.

"Brother, quickly go on the balcony."

"Huh? Hey--"

"Haruka's back," Lila whispered. She didn't wait for a response and ushered him on to the balcony.

That was a close one. Huan's gaze fell on Haruka who was kissing his sister. Geh, he didn't want to see this. Haruka, even if she is cute. Control yourself! Huan understood his old friend's personality all too well and didn't dare imagine what Lila's gone through. But, seeing Haruka's lips curve to a smile and his sister's soft laughter he also smiled. It's fine. They seem to get along well.
Huan leaped down from the balcony and put his headphones on.
Like this, it should be okay.
