Lila didn't think they would leave her alone with him. But she supposes it was better for them to do that then stay. She wouldn't be able to scold Kiryu as much if they were still around. Lila dragged Kiryu to the seating area by the building where he had just been working and took out a few things from her own bag. 'Just focus,' Lila thought. There's nothing wrong with being left alone with him. Like she told Haruka, he has to get used to seeing her together with Kiryu. Because avoiding Kiryu was never in her plans. She has already acknowledged that the two of them will always be connected no matter what.

"Who snitched on me?"

Lila frowned, "n.o.body, I just figured out that you lost weight and looked pale."

"Because you've been watching me?"

Lila almost dropped the medication she was taking out of her bag, but Kiryu catches the bottle, and she blushed, "I wasn't watching you."

"Really?"

Okay, so maybe she was a little. But can anybody blame her? They may not be dating anymore, the friend's thing may be strange - but Kiryu was somebody she knew since childhood. Just because they broke up, it didn't mean she had to stop caring for him. While she has to prioritize Haruka since he is her boyfriend, speaking of which, he should be lurking by still. Hopefully, he isn't getting any crazy ideas again. The two of them just had that very honest talk; she wants things to progress from that point onwards.

"Lila?" Kiryu gently caressed her cheeks.

"Haruka is waiting for me, so stay put."

"So, he's around?" Kiryu asked.

Lila nodded, "Ah-huh, we're on our way to see Soichiro."

"See Soichiro?" Kiryu looked her up and down, and Lila froze. Stupid, admitting that either means one of two things. One something is wrong with her, two it's time to go on a dangerous mission. Two things she knew Kiryu didn't like.

She supposes it would be better to come clean then beat around the bush about it. So Lila tells him about everything that happened the other day. The whole time Kiryu didn't say a word and listened to her. Once she was done, she saw a dark shadow had crossed his face, "It's my fault you see, for letting my guard down."

Kiryu shook his head, "Why do you always have to have your guard up? You were happy and having a nice time; naturally, you wouldn't think about people scheming against you."

'Happy, huh?' It feels weird hearing this from Kiryu. She was happy, spending time with Haruka like that. The two of them were always together in London, and yet those days felt like a long dream, "Ah-huh, that's true. Why can't I be happy when I'm on a date?"

"A date, huh, Karas.h.i.+ma's improving. That's good to know, I guess."

Wait, why does Kiryu know Haruka doesn't take her on dates often? Lila eyed him curiously, Miu mentioned it too. But supposedly Kiryu has never stopped watching over her, but Lila wondered to what extent he has been doing so. He even knows information like that. Lila paused when she realized she couldn't apply the medication, with his clothes b.u.t.toned up.

"Excuse me," she muttered and slowly started to undo the b.u.t.tons on his s.h.i.+rt.

"Your turning red, like what you see?"

"Idiot! Don't be a pervert," Lila exclaimed. Why does she have to be surrounded by perverts all the time?

Kiryu laughed, "Kidding, kidding."

He isn't joking at all, is he?

"This is a special medication for hanyou's experiencing fatigue. I managed to get my hands on some when I was doing a job for Soichiro in London, and it's very effective," Lila explained, "In the long run though, I advise you to take care of your body properly by resting the right amount of hours and eating your meals on time."

"How about you?"

Lila looked at him, puzzled, "Have you been eating and sleep--, "Kiryu paused, "Well, Karas.h.i.+ma probably doesn't let you sleep."

At that comment, Lila looked away ashamed. Why does he have to bring up such things? It makes her feel bad. She has nothing to feel guilty about; she is dating Haruka now. Whatever she does with him is no business of Kiryu's. But Lila felt there was something wrong about it.

"Sorry," Kiryu apologized, "It's not like I want you to feel bad or anything, it's just lately I've been thinking. Where did I go wrong?"

Where did he go wrong? Lila thought back to the time where Kiryu broke up with her, 'It was back then,' Lila thought to herself. Back then, she told him she would give up her journey and mission to be with him, "When you left me, I felt abandoned," Lila murmured. She knew full well that she ought to quickly divert his attention from this topic. However sensing how serious he was, Lila figured that she might as well tell him.

Lila took a deep breath, "You see Kiryu it's like this, I didn't want to break up with you. When my journey started, even though I was confused about the status of our relations.h.i.+p. I knew we were still together," that's why she didn't let Haruka go further than kissing her, "And when you kept calling me after I called you the first time, I figured we were still okay. For a while, it seemed that way and that we were still fine. However, when I got to the island, I understood that something had changed, at least with you anyway. I still loved you with all my heart, but whenever you held me in your arms, you would look so troubled."

"For a while, I was thinking to break up with you."

Her eyes widened at his words, "How long ago?"

"Before the tournament..no, in January. I wanted to set you free Lila," Kiryu murmured.

January, but back in January, Kiryu was...and Rosalichan. Lila froze and immediately understood, "You don't have to protect me from her," Lila exclaimed. What is it with the men around her, thinking she needs protection from Rosalia of all people? She can deal with that woman herself.

Kiryu shook his head, "You don't understand Lila, how brutal that woman is."

"I think I've seen it already," she shot back, annoyed. He's serious about this. The main reason they broke up was actually that woman? Rosalichan harmed her during that time in the island where she lost control of her powers and had to be locked away in the dungeon. Kiryu heard about it and confronted her. Lila knew about that, but she never asked him the details, she didn't think there was any need for it. She trusted Kiryu, she knew nothing could ever happen with him and Rosalichan again, "Did she ask you to break up with me? Why would you agree to something she said?"

Lila felt very frustrated and annoyed right now. What is it with these men who claim to love her? Why do they have to get pushed around with these women who supposedly have a hold on their secrets? With Haruka, she faces this issue every day, but with Kiryu, there was only one hindrance, and that was Rosalichan. Even then, Lila never dealt with that woman.

"She indeed asked me to break up with you, and yeah your right normally I wouldn't agree to things she said. But it concerned you and...and him," Kiryu murmured. He said the last line quietly, however, Lila heard it.

'Him? Is he talking about Haruka?' Lila thought. Kiryu, he...he knows something, doesn't he? About that incidence that leads her to forget about Haruka. About that photo, Lila recalled the picture of when she first met Haruka. She shouldn't have met Kiryu then; there meeting wouldn't come until a few months later. But why does she get this feeling? That from the very start, Kiryu is hiding things from her?

Before Lila could question Kiryu further, however,
maroon colored hair appeared in front of her.

"Haruka?"

"Are you done?" he seemed impatient, and Lila laughed, he's so silly.

Lila clung to his arm, "Yep, I'm done. Let's go and get scolded."

Haruka nodded and turned to Kiryu, it looked like he wanted to say something but turned back to her, "Is it just up ahead? Not actually sure where we are going."

"Ah, I'll lead the way," Lila didn't want to look back at Kiryu at all. She felt disgusted after that conversation with him. 'What an idiot, a moron,' she thought.

"Lila," she hears Kiryu call out, "Drop by your house tonight. I'll explain things then."

Lila said nothing and held on to Haruka's arm tighter. She seldom fought with Kiryu in the past, but there were times where they came to a disagreement, this being one of those times.

When they were safely away, Haruka backed her against the tree and pressed his lips against hers. It wasn't gentle nor aggressive; it was like he was trying to search for something behind that kiss, "Do you want to hear him out?" Haruka asked when he let go.

Lila shook her head, "There is no need, at least not now," she muttered. Right now, there are other things she must deal with.
