Lila seemed so firm and confident with her words . But then he would recall her brief interactions with Austin Kiryu, and it broke his heart . Haruka has long accepted that Austin Kiryu will always play an important role in her heart . That's something he can't take away from her, no matter how much time pa.s.ses by . No matter how much he disapproves of it . Haruka wouldn't be able to take it away from her, the connection the two share .

So with broken confidence, Haruka said, "It's fine, you can continue the way things are now . "

Lila looked at him with an expression of disbelief, as she coldly said to him, "Are you serious? Or are you joking with me?"

Haruka is taken back with her sudden coldness . But quickly replied, "It's just like I said . "

"I see, you really have no idea, do you?"

No idea? About what? Haruka looked at her, confused, but Lila is already walking away . Should he chase after her? 'Stupid of course you should,' Haruka rushed after her and Lila slowed down . The girl, however, wouldn't look him in the eyes at all let alone speak with him . How troublesome .

- Lila's apartment - Two hours later

Sometimes, Haruka will catch himself staring at his reflection for much longer than even a narcissist would . What he was looking at in particular wasn't his appearance though . It wasn't his physical appearance . But, he's focusing on that factor . Why does Lila love him? This kindness she claims he has . Why can't he see it? The guy who is worthy of her smile and love . Whenever he looked at his reflection in the mirror, all he would see is a monster in human skin .

When Haruka washed his hands, he stands there with the faucet running for more than a couple minutes . The red stain in his hands is what bothered him, the color of blood . Maybe if he scrubbed long and hard enough, it would vanish . All the sins he committed with these hands of his . If he washed them long enough, then perhaps she wouldn't find out .

He thinks he can hide it from everyone . There isn't a doubt in his mind that it's worked for a long time, but that is before he met Teras.h.i.+ma Lila . Perhaps it's because he helped her out when she needed it during a vulnerable time in her life .

These days, however, Haruka thought about it a lot . The only purpose of his life is tied to her . Lila needs him; for the first time in his life, someone needs him, and every time he is with her, he feels something . Yes, even someone like him can feel those emotions people mention whenever he is with Teras.h.i.+ka Lila .

Haruka is so focused that he doesn't hear his bedroom door creak open, doesn't hear the sounds of footsteps until the person spoke up . " Oi Haruuukkkka wake up . "

Only one person would refer to him by such an annoying nickname, " What do you want Mikado?"

"Got a mail from Hina . Seems kinda urgent if you ask me . "

Urgent? Mikado tossed his phone over, and he extended his hand out to catch it .

From: Hina

I kind overheard this the other day and tried to call Haruksan many times, but he didn't answer his phone . So I'll disclose this following message to you in hopes you pa.s.s it on .

It seemed like that woman asked her sister for a copy of the new student rooster for some reason . On that note, I doubt Maria used it herself . I'm sure she got it for someone in that case .

I doubt Rosalia would give it to her sister if it is being used for dangerous purposes after all . Then again, who knows what that crazy woman is thinking?

Funny enough on that very same day it seems like Lilsenpai called up Kaichou and asked him to watch over a certain student personally . Does the name s.h.i.+nomiya Souma ring a bell to you?

Anyhow from the seems of it, something will happen soon over there and over here too . I'll give you two a heads up that I'll try to stay out of it, but I doubt it'll happen . That and knowing Haruksan he's already getting himself involved, so that means I can too!

Hina

Haruka sighed when he saw the last line . Just when all the above contents are in adult standard of writing, she just goes ahead and writes something childish . He supposed that was kind of expected from her though .

"So does the name ring a bell to you?"

Haruka said nothing and bolted out of bed . He grabbed his packet of cigarettes and lighter from the bedside table and began to smoke . s.h.i.+nomiya . Of course, he knew that surname very well . But the first name didn't ring a bell to him . He had known a person with that very same surname . But it was long before he met the brown hair girl . Could it be just a coincidence?

Mikado sighs, " You know I still don't agree with you being her again . Haruka, that girls involved with the Yakuza you really ought to stay out of it . "

Heh, "Maybe its time I tell you . One of the reasons why I have Zane's protection . "

His friend wasn't happy at all with him . In fact, although they were standing next to each other on the train, Mikado was clearly sulking .

"My bad, I forgot to mention it .

"You can't forget to explain something like that" Akatsuki exclaimed .

He just did, though .

It was a rather mess of an incidence, so it's not like he hid it on purpose . It just meant that even if he didn't get involved with Lila, the Yakuza would still be after him too . Teaming up with the brown hair girl is the best choice .  After all, the reason she got involved in such a mess was because of what happened back then .

Coincidences do exist because he, too got involved in the same mess . He ended up saving that person .

His thoughts broke off when he hears the sound of the front door . Soon he hears soft footsteps; there stood none other than his wife, Teras.h.i.+ma Lila . She peered through the door, curiously, "Are there any girls?" It seemed like she was with someone .

"Nope, just annoying looking guy," that voice belonged to Senbi .

A relieved sigh pa.s.sed Lila's lips, and she entered the room . She still wore the same clothes that she wore earlier . Lila cautiously walked over, but when she got closer to him, she held him tightly .

"What's the matter?" his voice was soft . Even though they had that little dispute earlier, Haruka wasn't angry at his little wife at all . How could he get angry at her? The moment he loses control, then the moment Austin Kiryu will sweep in and take her . That's why he has to be careful with his words and actions .

"I didn't want to fight anymore . "

"Silly girl," Haruka murmured and brought his lips to hers . It was a brief and somewhat gentle kiss, "Not angry, but you were . "

Lila pouted, "I just had a lot on my mind, I'm okay now . Your warm Haruka . "

Realizing that the other two were still in the room, Haruka coughed . Senbi seemed reluctant to leave, but one word from Lila and the guy was out the doors .

Mikado sighed, "Haruka, you should return and apologize to Zane on your wife's behalf . He's angry . "

"I'll think about it . "

Lila glared at him, but he placed his mouth over hers, "Tell him I'm coming tomorrow night . "

"Okay . "

With those words said, Mikado leaves the room, and Haruka pushed Lila down onto the bed .

For someone like him, he has never once thought of love . A person like him with such bad circ.u.mnstances . Feelings such as those are ones that she ought to discard . Haruka could clearly remember it being asked what he will abandon for the sake of becoming a full-fledged member of the organization . ' Feelings . ' Was what he answered without a second thought . Even before then, he was already an emotionless doll since birth, and that's why he felt as though he wasn't sacrificing anything at all . But that was wrong when he met Teras.h.i.+ma Lila that changed completely .

"Haruka, unnnhh,"

"What are you doing here? What about your work?"

"I wanted to see you for a bit," she gently ran his hand through his hair, "I don't have long Haruka . "

"Yeah, that's why I'm just teasing you . "

"Dummy, nnngh," Lila raised her voice, her moans grew louder as he continued caressing her b.r.e.a.s.t.s and thighs, "Haruka, what are you trying to do?"

"Showing you, I love you . "

"You don't have to do that; I'm still mad about earlier . But," Lila trailed off, "I do understand where you're coming from . My career is important . But honestly, I'm feeling a bit tired too . Settling down once I've reached the top isn't a bad idea either . "

"Settle down, with who?"

"You dummy, but, before I do that there are still some things I have to do," Lila trailed off . For a split second Haruka saw it, the same hazard look in the girl's eyes that she had back then . It made him panic, until Lila said softly, "I promised Kiryu something you know?"

"What?"

"A peaceful future, with no distinction of rank and blood . A place where everybody can be happy . That future would have Kiryu and me in the center," Lila whispered .

" . . . "

Haruka said nothing to that, what is he supposed to say? Instead, he simply held the girl tighter . If G.o.d really does exist . Don't take Lila away from him . Don't let her leave his side . What is he supposed to do if she leaves him? He would completely bream .
