Those words do make her happy. But, "Why is she so confident that she can get you to fall for her? Something must have happened?"

"Nothing happened," Haruka paused, "Zane must have said something to her? I've heard they've net a couple of times. Zane is technically my legal guardian, so he probably did something."

"Did what?"

"Promise her that she would marry me."

At that comment, Lila felt the tears well up in her eyes; she couldn't hold it back anymore. Why does she have to go through this? It isn't fair. So that's why Mei acts that way. That's why Zane was disturbed by the marriage news. That's why Haruka knew this entire time. "Why didn't you tell me?"

Once they had gotten far enough, Haruka had let go of her hand almost immediately. How boring, he will not touch her at all? 

"Looks like they're selling some Takayoki over there, you haven't eaten yet, right? I'll get you some. You have to stay put because of your leg too," Haruka said.

"Okay," with those words said Mei watched as Karas.h.i.+ma Haruka left. A deep sigh escaped her lips, 'How frustrating.' When he came here right away, Mei thought that he cared for her. But now that she thought about it, it would look bad for him if she were somebody else found her in that state. Is this relations.h.i.+p really just a formal one?
