No, no. This is Lila; she occasionally acts strangely. Besides, he's heard her say something like this to Haruka too. It's not like he is anybody special. Still, the way Lila is looking at him right now makes him feel embarra.s.sed. Unknowingly, Lila got closer and closer. A sweet smell … Kiryu felt his heart skipping a beat. 'Uh, if she gets any closer, it would be very bad.' Look how close she is already now.

"It's strange, Kiryu," Lila muttered.

"Uh, what is?"

"I wonder, did you always look like this. Why didn't I notice how handsome you looked before?"

Is she serious? She must be playing with him right now, right? How can she act so casual?

Suddenly Lila was no longer on the chair. Haruka had picked her up. "Alright, you, you did that on purpose."

"I was genuinely curious. But, you weren't paying attention to me."

"Kiryu, this girl is terrible using you as a scapegoat. I'll apologize in advance."

Lila pouted, "And now you're focusing on Kiryu! What about me!"

'Unbelievable…' Lila rendered him completely speechless. He couldn't even speak properly right now. So, Kiryu only nodded as Haruka took Lila out of the room. For the next few minutes, Kiryu remained frozen. He seldom gets so close with Lila these days. Though she lets him hug her, once in a while, he can catch her off guard and kiss her too. But, even then, those moments are brief and quiet.

She smells so nice, was that her blood? Or was it just perfume? d.a.m.n, this is bad…

"Are you an idiot?" Rikka spoke up.

"I think I am."

"Men, they all act the same way," the girl trailed off and tapped her fingers against the gla.s.s table. "Just now, her curious side outweighed her. I want attention."

Lila was genuinely curious.

For some reason, ever since the breakup with Kiryu. Lila has learned many things about him that she didn't know before. When Haruka took her away, Lila's thoughts still remained distracted and on Kiryu. However, when he pushed her against the wall and started to kiss her pa.s.sionately. She focused on the feeling of his lips and his hands lifting her s.h.i.+rt.

"Ngh, your hands are cold."

"It's fine; you'll warm up, eventually."

Lila blushed when she hears his words, she hits him, but Haruka only laughed. What mischievous laughter, that should be cheating. Suddenly Haruka stopped, "Do you not want to? I'm sorry."

She shook her head, "You can continue," Lila raked her hands through his hair. "I just had a question, Haruka."

"About?"

"Rikksan."

Haruka frowned and sighed. "Lila.."

"No, I'm not jealous or anything. I just want to know. Does she know Zane?"

"Her father does. But, I don't think Rikka is involved with him at all."

'He doesn't seem to be lying. Or maybe he doesn't know?' One of the reasons why she isn't complaining about Rikksan was because of…

A few days earlier, Wednesday - December 28th, 2035 - Moonlight entertainment.

Lila felt mentally drained. This is so unfair. Why is Soichiro making her going on missions when he knows the state of her condition right now? While she has a lot of idol work to do, at least people there aren't pus.h.i.+ng her too hard. Right before the first round of the main tournament. She was hospitalized for a reason. But, this guy is seriously impossible. Her gaze fell on Soichiro, who was still angrily talking on the phone.

Since she couldn't hear the context of the conversation very well, it was hard to tell what was happening. But Soichiro walked over and placed some doc.u.ments on her desk. Lila scanned it, and her eyes widened. Ah, could it be -- the reason why Soichiro is so angry right now is...

Present-day

"What are you thinking?" Haruka said, huskily against her ear.

"Nothing," she mumbled. "Hubby, my legs are going weak already…"

Haruka chuckled, "If I lay you down, we will do it for real. Just bare with me for a few minutes. Once I start kissing you, it's hard for me to stop."

Lila nodded, and Haruka continued kissing her. It's okay, Haruka isn't involved. She knows that very well since she already took precaution measures.

People lie to a certain extent. No, some lie daily. They do it so casually like it's nothing to them. n.o.body hesitates to lie. Some do so without reason. But, some lie intending to obtain something - to the extent, they would hurt somebody.

Karas.h.i.+ma Haruka has done many bad things in the past. But, he isn't a liar. If anybody confronts him about the past, he explains right away; he doesn't white coat his words.

"Ah," Lila nodded. "Okay," she removed her hands from his hair and placed it under his s.h.i.+rt.

'This idiot…' Before Lila could say a word, a set of doors opened from the end of the hallway. Bright brunette hair exited and walked past them.

"Huh? Wait, don't go home," Haruka suddenly got off her. "Rikka, I said …"

"Aren't you busy? Let me go already."

Haruka glanced over at her with an apologetic look. "Lila, wait here for me for a second, okay?"

Lila nodded and watched as Haruka made his way over to the brunette haired girl. It's not like she wasn't bothered by it. But, somehow, it isn't like before. She quickly fixed up her clothing and noticed something. A bright red mark on her neck. This fool, he really is silly. It didn't take long, Haruka returned to her and wrapped his arms around her waist.

"Alright, let's get you back to work."

"What about Rikksan?"

Haruka smiled, "I told her I wanted to accompany you to work today."

Did he? So they can be together? She's so happy. Lila immediately forgot about the topic she wanted to ask him and buried her face in his arms.

"What is it, wife?"

"Just wanted to hold you tightly."

"I see," he gently caressed her hair. "You keep flirting with Kiryu today, though."

"That's because you were flirting with Rikksan."

"Didn't you say it was okay to get along with her?"

"My feelings are conflicted, hubby!"

He laughed and gently kissed her forehead, eyelids, nose, then lips. "Don't be," Haruka squeezed her hands to rea.s.sure her."

However, for some reason, Lila felt nervous. She placed her hands over her face.

"Huh? What's wrong?"

'It's so unfair for her,' Haruka never realizes what he does to her. She feels a bit embarra.s.sed; she knew she was blus.h.i.+ng. So Lila covered her face. Does she really have to spell it out for him?
