Teras.h.i.+ma Lila really came here. Rikka didn't think that the girl would come. She said she wanted a fair fight after all. Then again, Rikka recalled how the girl was moments ago.

"Sorry about this. But could you lend her something to wear--" Haruka's sentence fell short when Lila tugged on his hand.

"Just get me one of my spare s.h.i.+rts."

She said nothing and just walked over to the closest. Rikka kept some of Haruka's old clothing with hers.

Rikka threw the pillow and slumped to the bed. 'So frustrating...' She knew it was too good to be true. Yet, she wanted to spend the new year with him. Then again, it was already past the new year. A deep sigh escaped her lips. Why did she even break up with Haruka? It was so stupid of her.

Year XX January 1st, 9:30 pm

"Haruka," Rikka panted. "Don't you think this is too much for a new years surprise...?"

"I came back late, sorry, babe. I was held up for long in Star Town."

"I don't mind, but.... Ah...."

His mouth moved away from hers, and she leaned her head back. This lead to Haruka's lips to trail down her cheeks, and then the sensitive area of her neck. His hands circled against her thighs before he thrust his fingers inside. "Ahhh!" Rikka cried out. "Ahhhh, ohh...ah.... Uhh.."

"Haruka," Rikka muttered. "Are you going back?"

"Yeah, I'll be in Star Town for a bit longer. I'll keep in touch," Haruka kissed her shoulders. "Still can't move?"

"If you have to leave, I'll get off you."

Haruka shook his head, "No, let's stay like this. You're f.u.c.king gorgeous. I need more of you," he licked behind her ear. "Let's do it again."

"You shower first."

"Okay," he nodded and pulled her off his lap. Haruka stood up and made his way over to the shower.

Where did you go? I'm sorry, did I offend you last night... I mean it wasn't like I was trying to do anything but um uh... Let's talk this out, please?

Then again, it's not like they spent new years properly. Her thoughts broke off, hearing somebody enter the room.

"Haruka?"

"Sorry, are you okay?" Haruka asked her. She grabbed hold of his arm, and he nodded. "I'll stay here with you. Can I use the couch?"

"Just use the bed with me..."

Haruka shook his head, "Don't be difficult... This is already pus.h.i.+ng it. I'll have to go back if Lila finds out."

"..."

Rikka said nothing but let him go, he walked over to the couch, and she watched him lay down. "You're really a jerk.. Are you crazy? Why are you staying in the same room as me at night?"

"Yeah, yeah, I'm a jerk. But really Rikka, I still don't know what I can do for you. We both need closure. What can I do? Spend time with you till your satisfied?"

At that comment, she threw a pillow at him. "Don't make it sound like I'm the only one who is acting clingy. You changed your schedule to match mine."

"A coincidence."

"Hahaha, as if."

Haruka stood up and walked over to her, "Turn around."

Rikka, however, brought the blanket over her body, covering herself completely. She felt Haruka sit down on the bed. "You're really making this difficult for me. But I get it. You're just frustrated. I would be too."

"What should I do?"

"I don't know," Haruka whispered. "I really don't. Why did you come back now?"

Why is he asking her something so stupid?

Hubby and Rikksan, I made you both breakfast!

Sorry, I couldn't stay long. I had work.

Work? It's 7:30 am, and it's a Sat.u.r.day. Rikka turned to the food covered with plastic on top and grabbed one of the plates. 'It's already cold.' When did Lila leave? Her thoughts broke off when Haruka hugged her from the back, "Morning.."

Her gaze softened, so he does know how to be romantic? Rikka recalled when they were-- "Wife.."

Rikka glared at him and stepped on his foot, "I'm not you're wife."

"...Rikka?"

"Yes."

Haruka drew back but lightly embraced her. "Morning, Rikka."

'She didn't think he would do that..' Friends hug, and he didn't touch her unnecessarily. But, that light contact still made her feel incredibly nervous. What kind of crazy effect does this guy have on her?

"Lilsan made breakfast," she muttered. "I'll hear it up."

"Ah, guess I should call her. She went to work?"

Rikka nodded, "Yes."

It felt awkward eating breakfast with him, maybe because he was too busy on his phone. Rikka switched on the TV. "Good morning all, this is Good morning 7. Word just in! The star for the upcoming lucky musical is — Teras.h.i.+ma Lila!"

'So they chose her?' Rikka wondered who it was.

"They held a secret audition two months back, and since then, the team has been practicing," Haruka commented.

"I'm aware."

"Lila hesitated at first, but I told her to go ahead."

"Entering the world scene with one of your idols, huh?"

"Lila herself wants to," Haruka mumbled.

Sensing his changed tone, Rikka looked away. She didn't mean anything offensive about it.

"The alb.u.m 'Lucky Star.' was sold out within seconds and entered the world market at 5th place. It's currently still on the rise.."

Rikka took a sip of her drink, "Well done."

"She can go higher, but musical songs don't suit her voice. She's already doing a good job with a song she isn't familiar with."

"If she wants to succeed in the world market, she has to sing songs she isn't used to."

Haruka sighed, "Lila knows that. It's just my whim; I don't want her to push herself too much."

He what? Rikka looked at him, dumbfounded. Is this really the same, Haruka? Rikka felt like there were times where she could no longer recognize him.

'She's really good. But what is it?' Rikka felt that something was missing. Rikka silently observed the performance until the end.

"Lila, practice! Don't forget," Yori called out.

"I know! I'll go."

She seems to be very busy too. With Haruka's schedule, do these two even spend time with one another?

Rikka turned to Haruka but noticed that he was gone. Huh? She glanced back to where Lila was and saw Haruka approaching. The girl's eyes lit up when she saw him. "Hubby!!!"

"Hey, you left so suddenly.."

"Aha, I'm sorry. I know you need a morning kiss, right?"

"Mmm, give it to me."

She immediately looked away but heard slight moans from their direction. "Aha, this is silly..."

"Mmmm, wife is so pretty. I like this outfit, will you wear it for me later?"

"I will. Hubby, I have to go. But I'll see you at lunch."

"Lila, let me take you there..."

"Nuh-uh, it's okay! Kiryu said he would take me."

'Is this girl an idiot?' Why mention the love rival like that? Rikka saw it, it was brief, but a pained expression appeared on Haruka's face. The perfect relations.h.i.+p she heard about. It seems like there are more holes to exploit, after all.

Rikka immediately shook her head. Exactly what is she thinking? Exploit? Haruka is doing his best to give her closure. She can't act recklessly like all those other girls who chase after him. It would be a different story if he were in a normal relations.h.i.+p. She could still do something and try. However, whenever Rikka thought of trying now, her heart would clench up due to the pain.
