To her surprise, Haruka didn't react the way she expected. He didn't tease her or do something inappropriate; instead, he reached over and gently kissed a strand of her hair. Thump, thump, thump. This action of his caused her heart to speed up.

"I'm glad Lila, I thought I was hurting you this entire time."

Ah? He had such thoughts? Lila blinked, surprised at his words. But when she heard his pained tone and saw his facial expression. Lila understood, something was wrong. "Did you think I resented you, Haruka?"

"Yeah."

"At times, I wondered why you wouldn't just talk to me. It was very difficult. But, it's not like I'm any better than you. I'm very clumsy with words and interacting with other people. You told me before that you liked me for my honesty. But the reality is, I'm only honest around you and certain others. Because I know no matter what I say, their opinions of me won't change," Lila trailed off. She wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him.

She mumbled softly, "Even if I were to complain, or tell you how messed up I am. You would never judge or abandon me. That's why I do get it, Haruka. You're just insecure and afraid. You want to keep me close to you, but you don't know what to do."

"Lila, I've always loved you. I don't want anything to happen to you. I don't want you to hate me.."

"I understand, Haruka; I will never leave you."

"Lila…"

How could she possibly leave him? She loves him too much. But his insecurities and his pain, she understands it very well.

When Haruka kisses her, Lila liked it a lot because he was holding her hand and treating her so preciously. So when he suddenly mutters in her ear, asking her to stop...

"Lila, stop me…"

"No," Lila refused. "I won't…"

When Haruka's phone rings, Lila expected him to ignore it. However, he quickly got off her.

"Hey, they said there were changes in the program, and you have to go now."

Lila sighed, "You want to get rid of me so badly, hubby…"

Haruka kissed her behind her ears, "I will come with you."

"What about work?"

"Zane is coming to your shoot."

It was difficult for Lila to focus. Zane's distracting presence aside. Haruka worried her a lot. She was too far to overhear their conversation. But, she saw the look in his eyes. 'Is it okay?' Lila wanted nothing more than to go over to him. However, a lot of important people were present in the shoot. She took a deep breath; she needs to calm down.

Her thoughts broke off when she spotted a man with bright brunette short hair waltzing in the room.

"Brother!" Lila exclaimed.

His lips curve to a smile, "Hey, got a minute?"

She looked over at the director, who immediately nodded. Lila made her way over and pulled her brother to one corner. "Is something wrong?"

"Just checking on you and Haruka. I've heard strange rumors lately."

Lila sighed, "The media."

"Well, is it true?"

She rolled her eyes, "Quit it. You should understand better than anyone how much I love and care for Haruka."

"Yes, yes, still," Huan mumbled. "How is he lately? Whenever he gets emotional, he ends up doing stupid things."

If her brother finds out what Haruka did recently, he will surely scold him a lot. But Haruka he - Lila recalled how badly he was trembling. "Nothing."

"Nothing?"

"Yes, there hasn't been anything. He's normal. I told you already, he's learning to accept."

"That doesn't sound like the Haruka, I know."

"He's changed."

Lila didn't reply and rushed over to Haruka. Many of the staff people were helping Zane up, and people were muttering how terrible Haruka was. She ignored the stares she received on the way over. Lila wrapped her arms around Haruka.

"Hubby, let's go. I'll take a break."

"Lila..."

"Okay?" she squeezed his hands, and Haruka nodded. Lila noted the glares on the way out, but that didn't matter to her. She leads Haruka outside, and for a while, n.o.body said anything. The silence in the air made her feel suffocated, but she continued to drag Haruka away.

It pained her when she felt the fresh blood on his hands. Haruka must have noticed since he pulled away, he silently followed behind her instead.

Lila didn't have to ask him; she knew what he was thinking.

She found a quiet spot in the hallway, and Haruka buried his face in her chest. "Haruka," Lila mumbled softly. "Did he say something about me again?"

"Lila, you can't leave my sight. What if something happens to you?"

"Don't worry, I'll always remain in your sight."

"Lila, I want to kiss you and do things."

"Uh, yeah, that's fine."

"Mmm, I will only kiss," Haruka muttered. He brought his face to her neck and started sucking. He must be very upset right now; she ought to stay still and wait until he finishes kissing her.

Haruka suddenly drew back, "Haruka, what is it?"

"You suddenly seem more beautiful."

So silly, the girl however relaxes at his hold. Although she's aware that his emotions still flare up from time to time; and that she shouldn't let her guard down. Right now, she feels content.

"Lila, can I kiss you? I'm going to okay?"

He asks whether or not it's okay. But even before she can respond, he's already starting his attack on her lips; and her neck. If they were still children, young and naive. It would be easy to get lost in the pa.s.sion of this moment. But she's no longer a bird trapped in a cage, she's decided it after all. Whether it's the others, she would beat them all. "It's killing me not to," Haruka agreed. "But a promise is a promise, I'll fulfill your needs in other ways later. For now, let's just make out."

"If that makes you feel better."

His gaze seemed so very sad, so Lila leaned forward and kissed him. "Lila, I like it when you kiss me…"

"Mmm, from now on, I'll initiate everything."

He is so precious to her; she can't let him continue feeling bad. Haruka brushed his hands across her neck, "There's still blood here, can I lick it?"

"You don't have to ask."

"But I don't want to hurt you."

"Okay silly, just lick it away."

Haruka nodded and bent down, his lips grazed against her neck again. Lila tried to remain completely still. But it was hard considering how close they were.

"You know, for someone who confidentially told me to lick just now. Your blus.h.i.+ng."

"Who wouldn't blush, idiot," Lila scolded.

She felt his hands on her cheeks, and Lila tried to look down. It was hard to avoid her gaze from him since she liked looking at him. "It's because you do these stupid things. Otherwise, I won't lose my composure. I'm normally a calm person."

"Is that so? I like it when you turn red…" Haruka muttered.

"Yes I know, you like to tease me."

His gaze softened, "I'm very sorry about what just happened. This will cause problems for you."

"It's okay; you're my husband. Whatever fault you make, it's my fault too. Haruka, I'll never let you handle anything alone. You have me; you can share it all with me."

"Thank you, Lila."
