Dream Star 705 Thread To The Future Part 6

A week and a half later - February XX 2036

Ever since that day, Haruka started to live with her again. They didn't talk about living together, but he just naturally stayed over here. After the first day, he didn't leave till late, and he came back with a bunch of stuff. Rikka didn't mind the situation. He looked so fragile and weak; she wanted to take care of him.

When Rikka returned from work, she noticed his shoes in the doorway. She quickly walked across the hallway to the living room. Haruka was weakly leaning against the window. His breathing unsteady, face flushed.

She immediately understood the situation.

'Her cousin dropped by.' That day Rikka didn't know what to do, so she called Sophia over. It was a mistake. She knew what her cousin was capable of. But Rikka never saw Haruka that weak before.

Did she drug him?

Rikka walked over and tapped his shoulders. "Haruka?"

In seconds he had her pinned against the ground. Heavy and hungry lips at her neck. Unsteady breathing, flushed face. 'Sophia drugged him.' But Rikka found it puzzling that her cousin isn't here anymore. Why drug him and leave?

Her thoughts broke off when she felt Haruka's hands on her clothing. "Haruka? Do you know what you're doing?"

"...I'm so hot... Lila, help me."

'Lila again.' They don't have the same body structure at all. What kind of drug did Sophia give him? He is hallucinating. But maybe she can use this chance. Rikka hesitantly caressed his cheeks, in the same manner, she saw Teras.h.i.+ma Lila did.

"I've missed you so much, Lila. Don't go anywhere again."

Rikka felt so overwhelmed with emotion. Haruka has never held her so tightly like this. She doesn't know what to do. She hesitantly brought her arms around him, drawing their bodies together. Haruka bent down to capture her lips. He kissed her for a good few minutes, but he suddenly stopped.

"Haruka?"

"...Rikka?"

At that comment, she nodded, and Haruka immediately got off her. He ran his hands through his hair and cursed. "d.a.m.n, why don't you stop me?"

"Because I like you."

"Don't do this," he muttered. "Tsk, I'm going to shower."

Rikka quickly followed him there. Haruka, however, shut the shower door behind him.

"She drugged you again." Rikka sighed. "Quit falling for it. Your lucky it's me." Any other girl would have taken photos and blackmailed him.

She hears the sound of the shower water and leans against the door. "Haruka, I can help you."

"No."

"You're so stupid. Showering won't get rid of the drug effects."

Haruka doesn't say anymore, but Rikka didn't leave. 'She should stay here just in case he needs her.'

"The rain stopped," Rikka commented.

She heard the sound of Haruka opening a can of beer, earning her attention. Rikka walked over and took the can from his hands. "Did you drive here? You can't return to work if you're drunk."

"I had someone drive me."

"I see. You must have bothered him." Rikka said. Rikka knew she was too blunt. However, for the past few days, Haruka hasn't returned to the hospital or his home. "But still, I don't think you should drink. You should get your stuff and head to the studio."

"But I don't feel too good leaving you behind. Don't worry. I won't take advantage of you again."

At that comment, her eyes twitched in annoyance. "What take advantage, you haven't touched me at all!"

Haruka chuckled. "Well, technically, I do. When you're tired from work, I carry you."

"That's beside the point. Instead of worrying about me, you should be more worried about Teras.h.i.+ma Lila."

"I'm worried about her, of course."

"Honestly, why are you acting like this? Did Teras.h.i.+ma Lila blame you?"

"She didn't, and that's the issue. Lila will forgive me no matter what. Honestly, sometimes I wish she would just blame me. I'm clearly wrong. Why does she have to forgive me for everything?"

'Didn't he say recently to her that was one of the reasons why he liked Teras.h.i.+ma Lila?' Rikka sighed. How can she be happy about this situation? Haruka is only behaving this way because he feels guilty.

Rikka positioned herself on his lap and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Choose me already."

"Trying to bribe me?"

"Haruka, you're in pain when you're with her. So choose me. I can make you happy."

"You can?"

Rikka nodded. "Give me a chance. I can show you.."

"Rikka...you don't hate me?"

His question surprised her.

"Hate?"

A bitter smile appeared on Haruka's face. "I lied to you. I said I forgot my feelings for Lila and was falling in love with you, do you remember?"

"I remember."

How could she forget? Haruka repeatedly said those words to rea.s.sure her. For a long time, Rikka believed him. Why wouldn't she? Before Rikka could say anymore, they hear the sound of clapping and sarcastic laughter.

"Wow, so this is where you were hiding Karas.h.i.+ma.."

Rikka immediately turned around and saw a girl with caramel curly hair standing by the door. When she realized what kind of position they were in, Rikka scrambled off Haruka's lap.

Yori laughed. "Rela, you two can continue what you're doing. I will ask you another time.."

Rikka shook her head. "If it's about work, tell me."

"It is. Can I sit down?"

Yori asked, but the girl already sat down on one of the chairs. Rikka fixed her clothing up and sighed. 'That was awkward.' Rikka took the seat opposite and looked through the files.

"So, has anything happened?"

"Anything?"

"With you and that useless guy. Please share the details. I want him to leave Lila as quickly as possible after all."

At that comment, Rikka glanced up. She couldn't miss how bitter Kogami Yori sounded.

Haruka didn't do anything wrong. But all these people will blame him.

"He didn't do anything wrong. Do you have to treat him this way?" Rikka questioned.

"That's what I said at first. Maybe he is shocked, but almost a week has pa.s.sed. How can he not visit her once?"

Don't they know how much he has suffered? Rikka clenched her fist.

"And Kiryu is getting so much shade and hate for dropping all his work right now. Lila isn't even his girlfriend anymore, so people find it strange. They are saying all sorts of things about him breaking up a married couple."

"Kogami-san, did you come here to say this?" Rikka mumbled.

"I did." Yori glared at Haruka. "You disgust me. I thought I could trust you with Lila. But here you are, living with another woman while your wife is in the hospital. You have no shame whatsoever, do you? Let Lila return to Kiryu and never bother her again!" she bellowed. Yori angrily took out some doc.u.ments.

"I will convince Lila to sign this. So just send me this back when you're finished."

Rikka glanced down at the doc.u.ments Yori took out. She knew what it was, of course. 'Divorce papers?' Rikka was at the hospital that day, so she understood the situation was terrible. However, who would have thought it would escalate this far. Is this her chance?

"Kogami...wait...Lila, let me see her.."

Her eyes widened when she heard those words.

At that comment, Yori turned around. "Now, you want to see her?"

"Please.."

When the two arrive in Teras.h.i.+ma Lila's hospital room. Rikka couldn't miss the heavy scent of blood. At the edge of the room on the bed, Teras.h.i.+ma Lila had Austin Kiryu pinned against the bed frame. She was sucking his neck, and his clothes looked torn. Dark markings all over his body.

"Kiryu, I'm sorry.. I'm so hungry...I'm so..hungry."

"It's okay, Lila. Don't blame yourself. Drink as much as you want."

"I want Haruka."

"Yeah, that guy is an idiot. I sent him messages, but he isn't replying."

"I think he hates me now."

At that comment, Rikka glanced over at Haruka, but he was no longer by her side. She looked over and saw that Haruka had pulled Lila away from Kiryu.

"Hubby..?"

"I'm sorry, please..please don't do this. I'm here, Lila."

Rikka clenched her fist. She couldn't stand the sight and immediately walked away.

The past five days felt like a dream to her. But a dream is a dream. Haruka will no longer care for her the same way anymore, as long as Teras.h.i.+ma Lila is in the picture. But, her consciousness will not let her do anything to somebody innocent much or less sick. What is she supposed to do?
