Dream Star 721 Devils Lullaby Part 5

It turns out she knew nothing at all. The person she cares for the most, in the end - she still knows nothing. How many years did she spend by this person's side? How come she doesn't know even the most simple things about him? Everything she knew about Kiryu suddenly seems so superficial.

'Our relations.h.i.+p, was it that bad?' Lila wanted to tell him this. She wanted to know how he felt about their relations.h.i.+p. Kiryu, he has many regrets, doesn't he? Does he regret dating her? Lila wanted to know the truth.

Kiryu isn't like Haruka if she wants to know something. He will tell her right away, Kiryu won't bother hiding anything from her.

"Do you have a headache?" Kiryu asked, concerned.

"It hurts a lot."

Kiryu brushed his hands across her forehead; a familiar light appears in his palm.

For Lila, Austin Kiryu's kindness was like a tranquilizer. But at the same time, it had the opposite effect too. She can't do anything to repay the kindness he has shown her this entire time. How many years did Kiryu spend by her side? After their break up, it felt like she closed her heart. She erased her emotions and became a living doll instead.

Kiryu probably thinks he is only getting in their way. 'That's why he stayed away for so long.' But it wasn't like that at all. She spent many days in agony and so much pain because she missed him. "Kiryu, I missed you a lot," Lila mumbled.

There was a time where she even considered breaking up with Haruka. 'If this is the reason why Kiryu stayed away, then I will sacrifice my feelings.'

Kiryu stopped his healing and pulled her into his arms. He seemed to hesitate but eventually tightened his hold. "Lila," Kiryu mumbled. "I know how you feel, I truly do."

"Kiryu.." Lila didn't know what it was, but she burst into tears, causing him to laugh. "It's not funny."

"Maybe it isn't, but you honestly haven't changed much. I thought being with Haruka would make you stronger."

"I'm stronger, Kiryu; you just don't know.."

"I know."

At that comment, she cried more, and Kiryu patted her back. 'This entire time, Kiryu watched over her. I thought he didn't care anymore.' She waited for Kiryu for so long, and yet nothing happened. Lila couldn't take it anymore and fell in love with Haruka for real.

"Sssh Lila, for now, just go to sleep."

When Lila next woke up, a warm hue of orange fills the entire room. She rubbed her sleepy eyes. "Kiryu?"

'Not here, did he leave already?' Frowning, Lila scanned the room. She couldn't find him anywhere.

The borderline between friends and lovers. If she chose Harukkun over Kiryu, does that make him more important? Her head hurts, trying to think about it, and so does her heart. It's painful. But if she continues leaving it like this, she will end up inflicting them even more pain than before.

Lila stood up despite her weak body. She felt slightly better than before and wanted to walk around. She opened the door to the next room, only to find only Kiryu there. He leaned against the window frame and was smoking. Wahhhh!!! He looks so handsome !!! Where's her phone? She needs to take a picture.

She immediately shook her head, though. 'Bad habits are hard to break.'

"Lila." Kiryu acknowledged. "Come here."

Oh, his voice sounds drowsy. Maybe he's sleepy? Lila hesitantly makes her way over to him.

"Tired. What about you?" Kiryu asked.

"Ah, I'm okay."

"You feeling better? Because I'm drained." He placed his hand on her forehead. "More importantly, don't push yourself. You still have a fever."

Kiryu is so very kind and gentle. He won't do anything that purposely hurts her. Lila knew that better than anybody.

Lila snuggles up against him, and his arms wrap around her. Kiryu… smells nice, there is a sweeter scent than usual.. Will he let her drink? She is suddenly thirsty, she immediately paused and frantically shook her head. What is with these crazy thoughts of hers.

A deep sigh crossed her lips. 'I need to calm down.' She hasn't spent this much time with Kiryu in so long.

Kiryu sat down by the piano, and her eyes light up. Ah! Lila somehow managed to position herself on top. "Kiryu, Kiryu, what are you going to play?"

"Since this is for work, lets chose one of the songs from the setlist."

"Ah! Then the town where stars fall."

One of her mother's beloved songs, only Kiryu can play it so well.

"Got it. ..Though you know, I think we should change your position."

Eh? Before Lila could say anything, he pulled her down onto the chair. Ah! This is comfortable !!

"Nice and comfortable?" Kiryu asked.

"Ahuh! Very."

He kisses her forehead softly, causing her eyes to widen. Ah, even now, this feels very comfortable to her. What is this feeling?

Whenever Kiryu plays the piano, he looks pleased. "Whenever you play, it's like magic Kiryu! There were five stars on each of your hands, you know!! It's amazing! How do you do that?" Lila was very amazed.

"Really, how can you say embarra.s.sing things so easily like that? You make me feel embarra.s.sed too."

Embarra.s.sed ….Kiryu?!

"An embarra.s.sed Kiryu, I want to see!"

"Hey, you..Quit being cheeky."

Lila laughed. But she wants to see it. She wants to know everything about Kiryu. He sighs in defeat, and Lila looked over. Wah! Wah! His cheeks are red; they're red. So it's not just her with these feelings. Wahh, it's embarra.s.sing. Will, he let her take a picture? But to get her phone, she has to leave his hold.

"Lila, give me your hands."

"Ah! Okay, do whatever you want with them."

"You know you probably ought to stop doing that."

Lila looked at him, confused. 'What is he talking about?'

"What if I tried to do something perverted with these?"

Perver-- wahhhh ahhh! What would he do with them? Something just came to mind...

Kiryu laughed. "Pfft, I'm kidding."

"Kiryu, dummy."

"Let's play together." Kiryu offered.

Her eyes brightened at his words. "Okay !!! Your so kind, Kiryu."

"Mm, only to you."

He seems to be having fun whenever he plays the piano. Earlier, he seemed distressed and lost, but now he is calmer. The faint scent of a woman's perfume, the darkness around him that's not hers. It's still there, and yet, it's comfortable being close to him. Its probably cause he's transmitting all his joy and happiness when he's playing the piano.

Their breaths synchronize, and they play in perfect harmony.

It's so much fun. Lila is sure that she only feels this way when she is around Kiryu. Right now, she's so happy and having so much fun that she feels like she can blurt out something cheesy like. 'You are my destiny.'

But, a flash of brown appeared in her head, and her gaze softened. This feeling she has for Kiryu has already changed. For now, this is enough, but in the future, she will have to decide. In that future, will Haruka understand her decision?
