Dream Star 731 Even If The World Falls Apar

Star Town

Meanwhile back in j.a.pan, it was anything but peaceful. In Star Town, everything was dull and grey in contrast.

Sumire cautiously opened the latch and a relieved sigh pa.s.sed her lips when she saw her husband. She opened the door and Yuhi quickly entered the house with a bag of groceries. "I managed to get something, I hope it's enough."

"It's okay, I don't need to eat. Let's leave this for Freya and William."

Yuhi nodded. "Agreed."

"How is it outside?"

Yuhi's gaze dimmed. "Awful. People on the streets look soulless. The ones who are active have clearly taken the drug. The government issued a statement not to go out unless you have powers to defend yourself. But people can't survive in these conditions."

Sumire bit her lip. "I should go."

At that comment her husband shook his head. "Your staying right here Sumire. If you go out, the government will try to use you to defend people."

"But I think I should."

"No."

"Yuhi."

"Seriously no." He pulled her into his arms. "I can't let you do anything crazy like before."

"Yuhi... But I want to see if I can contact Lilchan. I want her to stay away."

"Kyoko is doing that, relax."

"Okay, but I'm worried."

"Zane seems to be focussing his attention on Star Town. But other areas in j.a.pan are starting to get affected. Star Town and Light Town were hit the hardest." Yuhi trailed off. "It isn't safe for anybody to go out, even those with abilities. HYOU4 is doing what they can to suppress the riots and keeping people at home but..."

This wasn't supposed to happen. What happened to the peace she fought so hard for? What they all fought for?!! This is terrible. Her gaze fell on the window. Yuhi bared most of the windows but she could spot the grey skies from the small gap. 

"Mommy?" A sweet voice called out. Sumire turned around and spotted her daughter. 

Sumire scooped her up. "Freya."

"Mommy, where is sister?"

"Your sister went on vacation with her husband."

"Is sis safe?" Freya asked.

'To think her daughter is asking her this. Another daughter of hers asking this question.' Even now Sumire can't forget how she desperately had to protect Kyoko back then. 

"We can't directly call Lila." Yuhi mumbled. "They are watching us."

"I know."

Freya burst into tears and Sumire patted her back. "Ssh."

"Sister.."

"I'm sorry Freya."

....

Sumire tip toe out of the room, she didn't close the door. Sumire wanted to keep an eye on her children. 'The house isn't completely safe.' Honestly, she wanted to bring them around with her everywhere. But she can't do that. Sumire looked around and found her husband in the hallway, he was setting up candles on the cooridoor.

"Yuhi?" Sumire called out.

Yuhi looked over at her. "Hey, I thought we could use brighter candles."

Her gaze softened. "Your acting like a father huh?"

"Mmm, this environment isn't good for those two. Freya and William both have more light than darkness." 

"Yuhi, can I hug you?"

At that comment Yuhi put the candles down and walked over to her. She kept her head down the entire time and stared at the cold ground. Yuhi pulled her into his arms again and she buried her face in his chest. "My dear Sumire, don't be afraid."

"I know this isn't as bad as back then. If we could handle it, then we can do the same now. But, I'm worried about the affect this will have on Lilchan's generation. Those kids are used to peace."

"Hush. It will be okay, this won't last long. Zane just wants to experiment. We were caught slightly of guard, but once we get our systems back running and the necessary force put together. He will have no choice but to withdraw."

"I know, I'm just--"

"Scared?" Yuhi finished for her.

Sumire looked away ashamed. "I am."

Yuhi cupped her cheeks. "Don't be scared Sumire. No matter what happens this time, I will be right by your side."

"I understand that but.."

"Besides I want to ask you for something selfish. Is it okay if we live together just us two after all of this?"

"Yuhi, what did you just say?"

Sumire wasn't sure if she heard him correctly. Because there's no way he would say something like that. The guy whom didn't know anything about giving girls compliments; the one who had to seek Atus.h.i.+'s advice on many matters since the two of them started dating. She found herself casually asking about the dress incidence last year, where she went through all that trouble to dress up for him. 

"It's because you look always look good. It's something that doesn't need to be said right? It's silently agreed on.' That's right, that reason made enough sense to her. Even without words they are able to properly convey their feelings with each other.

"Live together with me." 

Sumire could feel her cheeks up, although this position alone was already enough to send her heart beating rapidly. But those words and the look in his eyes, piercing so deeply in to her like that. He said 'live together.'

"E…h? A joke? It's a joke right?"Sumire stammered. Her whole face turned redder. She wonders why her husband has this type of affect on her even now.

He backs away from her slightly. "Would I say something like that as a joke?"

"Ehhh…?"

She didn't get a chance to finish her sentence at all, when he cuts her sentence of by pressing his lips on hers once again. It's Yuhi's warmth. Sumire wrapped her arms around his neck.

"You know it's hard to get intimate with the kids around."

Sumire sighed. "That doesn't stop you."

His lips curve to a smile. "It doesn't huh?"

"Yuhi, should we really be doing this now?"

Yuhi sighed. "Loosen up a bit Sumire. I know it looks like the whole world will fall apart outside. But, even if the world falls apart, you will still have me."
