Dream Star 765 The Distant Stars

"You know Haruka, I told Kou before. ' I love it. Their smiles.' " Lila laughs softly, as his eyes went wide. " From the very start whenever I talk about you guys I tend to go a bit overboard and talk a lot. As well as saying such embarra.s.sing things. That time when I saw you, and those two arguing right before the performance back then. That was when my resolve completely broke. I really did steel my resolve hard you know? 

Even though I so desperately wanted to stay with you and the others. Even though I wanted to spend my every days with everyone. If I hadn't left you guys would not have been able to firmly steel your own resolve. I didn't think it was fair for me either, to think of Kiryu while remaining with everyone."

So that's how it was, such a possibility didn't cross his mind; only because he chose to dismiss it. 

After all everyone saw how deeply she cared for Kiryu. No everyone saw that the two were in love with each other and yet she let go of his hand, to go to another person. 

It made Haruka think that other person is surely more important to her than the rest of them. 'That person was me though.'

"Your right, even if you remained those days would have been bitter. You would not have been able to smile. " He trails off, " Lila, could I ask you something?"

"What is it?"

"Back then, you were in love with Kiryu weren't you?"

It was something he avoided asking before. So it seems strange that the words are leaving his lips so easily now, without a single drop of hesitation.

"Yes. I loved him."

Had he asked her this question before, for sure she would have avoided it. She would have answered in around about way and not have answered properly at all. But because it's now, both their answers are different.

"But, I realized that the feelings I had for you were a lot more genuine. Stuff like wanting to be with you all the time, not wanting to let you go to another woman's side. How your actions have always made my heartbeat no matter what. Such heart-pounding feelings, I didn't think I was capable of having them until I met you. Feelings that are difficult to describe in words. Such feelings I did not have when I fell in love with Kiryu. But that does not mean he wasn't important to me. Even now I am still not capable of letting him go. Even now I still want to hold on to that hand."

"Selfish.' That would be the word people use in this circ.u.mstances but he really cannot dislike this girl.

"Then, you should tell him that. I heard that you two have more or less come to terms with everything in middle school. But what about right now? Have you told him that?"

"I haven't…"

"Then do so. I'm sure he will be happy."

"Thank you hubby." Lila extended her hands out. "You remained calm this entire time, good boy. But I don't want you to be calm. Hug me."

At that comment he took a step forward and pulled the girl into his arms. He hugged her tightly.

Lila kept laughing. "Aha, why were you holding back?"

"Because it looked like you were going to talk about something serious. Did I do a good job my wife?"

"You did, I will have to reward you." Lila brushed her lips against his. "Ah, but if I kiss you again we will have problems."

Haruka sighed as he grabbed hold of her hand. "You know I like having problems."

"I know you do, you're stupid like that. Say do you still have time? Let's walk and talk."

"Alright."

"So what exactly did you tell Maon?"

"I have so many things I want to tell them. I'm so glad that I came back to everyone saw their sparkles every day. I'm so glad to see everyone again. I'm so glad I came to Light Town, that I went to Light academy. The first day I entered the school I was so excited. I'm excited for the duo projects and the trio tournaments. And I want to get to know everyone better than before. I want to learn everything about them properly, in the years we were apart. 

What sort of sensations, emotions, they felt. What scenery they have all seen. I'm still not at a level where I can confidently use my light without struggling but I'll keep trying. My dream is to spread to the world, this beauty. That's how I feel. I want to express my feelings to everyone."

Haruka's eyes widened when he heard her words. He never thought she felt that way before. It seems like there are many things he still doesn't know about his wife. He wants to know everything about her.

"Ah!! Look crepes."

"You're hungry? I will get you some."

Lila laughed. "It's okay, it's my treat."

She let's go of his hand. Haruka watched as she rushed over to the stall.

"That line was long. But once people recognised me, they let me through easily. I suppose being an idol really does have it perks." Lila said holding up the bag.

"You only just realized?"

"Well, I'm always cautious when I'm outside after all. ."

He chuckles softly. "That's certainly like you."

At that comment he finds her staring at him intensely.

"What's wrong? Your eyes are red. Did something happen? " 

Ah, being looked at with such concerned eyes like that really makes him feel guilty. ' I was thinking of another woman.' If he said that even in a joking manner, she would figure it out right away and this mood would become sour. He doesn't want anything to destroy this moment.

"The contact lenses don't fit my eyes that well."

Lila rolled her eyes. "Hubby, don't lie. I know you don't wear contacts."

His gaze softens as he looked up at the skies, whenever he saw the stars or even a spec of light he can't help but think of Lila. He can't help but a.s.sociate everything bright with his wife. 

"Maybe it's far sightedness. The distant stars look so close to me. Thus I end up losing sight of the stars that have become so close to me."

Even though they are all together now; and they have all expressed their feelings. They can all no longer go back to how things were before. Perhaps that's why he feels like this way now.

"I see, you know I think everybody is like that. Even though they want to remain close to those stars, in order to move forward with their lives they have no choice but to let go of the stars that are so closest to them. It's the same with people. Even though they want to be with each other all the time, it's not simple. But even then they find ways to meet." Lila trailed off and looked at him. She laughed softly. "Like us right?"

"I guess so. The food will get cold, let's eat."

Lila nodded and the two of them sat down on some nearby benches. He brushed a strand of lose hair from her face and Lila shyly covered her face. "Don't do that, I get embarra.s.sed."

"You do?"

"Ah-huh."

His gaze softened and he placed a gentle loss on her forehead. "Alright time for embarra.s.sment round two. Open your mouth, let me feed you."

Lila laughed. "Um, really?"

"Yes."

"Okay then, feed me!"
