Dream Star 782 The Last Seven Years Par

Yuhi chuckled. "I was joking, I know by now what you expect of me my love."

What she exp-- Aaah geez. Sumire crouched down to look at the flowers too and tried to avoid her husbands gaze. But he made it difficult for her especially since he kept brus.h.i.+ng his hands across hers.

"So I was thinking, maybe we should go somewhere tonight?"

"Somewhere?"

"Mm, just doing it destroys the mood. Why dont we do something sweet and romantic first?"

Sumire looked at him speechless. What on earth is he suggesting now? Why is he suddenly behaving so shamelessly? Is it because they are not in j.a.pan anymore? Is it because they are not amid danger? Sure being in New York meant that they were free from their usual worries, but that was only a temporary measure.

They would have to return eventually and there is work they can do here. In the past year since she has returned, so much has happened. She has so much work to catch up on. Lilchan did a great job taking charge of the hanyou world affairs, Kyo-chan and the entertainment board, Huan and the delinquent world.. But now that she has returned, she no longer wants to burden her children with these matters.

Still because of this she is buried with work. Her gaze darted towards her husband. He must be holding back a lot. She left for seven years.

But its not like he didnt touch anybody in those seven years.

"Say you slept with Makino-chan one last time after I came back right?"

At that comment Yuhi dropped the rose in his hands. Sumire chuckled when she saw his panicked expression. "Relax my dear husband, I am not going to blame you. I mean I did return so suddenly. If you had other women during our time apart, I won't blame you."

Yuhi deeply sighed. "Since we are on this topic. About Makino, it was only for the last two years. At the start of course I wouldn't think of such things. I was desperately searching for you for a long time. I didn't eat and sleep properly. I used all my time and energy to find you. But I ended up hospitalized, and Makino told me she would look after me until you come back."

"Even back then, you had a difficult time pus.h.i.+ng her away. She is important to you just like how Ren is with me."

When she left a part of her understood. Yuhi won't be alone, he will have their mutual friends and surely Makino-chan won't leave him be. It seems like she was right on that department.

"I don't want you to get the wrong idea. I never saw her as anything more than a friend."

"Yuhi, you don't have to explain. I am not trying to guilt trip you--" Her sentence fell short when she saw the serious look in his eyes. She immediately stood up. "I think those two are finished now. I will check on them."

She needs to get away quickly just in case Yuhi… Her sentence fell short when she felt his presence from behind her. Yuhi wrapped his arms around her waist and hugged her from the back. His lips brushed across her neck.

"Dont go anywhere Sumire, stay beside me."

Why does this persons words have such an affect on her even now?

"Yuhi…"

"Please Sumire I know we havent talked about what happened the last seven years properly yet. But I want to discuss things now."

Yuhi placed a cup in front of her. "You sure you dont want anything else?"

"Mmm, I am sure." She trailed off. "So about Makino-chan…"

"For somebody who mentioned it casually, your showing far too much interest."

Sumire laughed. "You can tell?"

"You really want to hear about the s.e.xual relations.h.i.+p I had with another woman for the last two years? Your so weird."

"Thats because I know Makino-chan is a good girl. She wouldnt have done that unless things were bad."

"When did you two become such good friends?"

Friends huh? Its not like the two of them are friends or anything. But Sumire knew that even after all that has happened, the girl still liked Yuhi. Somebody who likes Yuhi as much as her would not like to see him suffering. Sumire understood this very well. 

It was risky. What if Yuhi fell for Makino? It was very dangerous and yet she risked it anyway.

"It was only a s.e.xual relations.h.i.+p?"

Yuhi nodded. "Yeah."

So nothing else happened huh? Sumire sighed in relief. She did not realize how long she was waiting for that confirmation. When she returned a year ago and a bit ago, Sumire noticed something around the house. Signs of another woman spending a lot of time there. The dented furniture indicating s.e.xual activities, the spare bedroom her husband used over the last few years since she disappeared. At least he respected her enough not to do it in their bedroom but it bothered her.

I was the one who left, so I have no right to complain.

This was the main reason why I did not bring it up.

Eleven when I changed the sheets in that room--

Yuhi gently kissed her forehead. "Sumire, Im sorry."

She shook her head. "Please dont apologize Yuhi, I understand. Despite what it seems like I do understand. Besides I was the one who sent that letter and said to forget about me."

"Sumire, I--"

Before Yuhi could say anything else they heard the sound of approaching footsteps. A woman with mid length black hair wearing a black long sleeve knitted top and a pleated red and black skirt. Ah--

"Makino-chan?"

"Sumire-chan and Yuhi. Sorry for dropping by but I heard you two were here in New York, so I thought I would come and see you."

Sumire looked at the woman startled. She thought this back then but Makino-chan looked nice with short hair but now with long hair? What is this sudden feeling of insecurity right now…

"Are you cold?" Yuhi suddenly asked. "You shouldn't go outside without a jacket."

"I was nearby."

She stared at the two with curious eyes. What is this exchange? 

Makino sweat fell. "Sumire-chan, don't think weird things… I came here to see you. But somebody else wants to talk to you first."

Somebody else wants to talk to her? Is that an excuse to be left alone with Yu- her thoughts broke off when Makino-chan held up a notebook. Her eyes widened when she recognized it. Sumire immediately grabbed hold of it. "Then I will get going."

It seems like that person came here, so she ought to go and greet them. Her gaze softened at the thought. Perhaps rus.h.i.+ng of to New York and staying for awhile wasn't a bad idea. At first she was worried about leaving Star Town. But it seems like everything is under control over there.

"I will leave but." She turned to her husband. "Yuhi-san, if you cheat on me while I am gone, you will suffer the consequences."

"Hey now.."

Sumire leaned forward and kissed his lips. "All you have to do is not cheat right? I will reward you tonight if you listen to me."
