My Stubborn Mistress 301 Somewhere, Trapped In Time: Confession Or Confrontation?

Madison was in a balcony and looking up into the skyline. Tonight, the moon still hiding behind those clouds.

"Can't sleep?"

Madison shudders hearing someone suddenly talk behind her. "Do you want to scare me to death?" she snapped out from the shocked.

"Oh, I'm sorry. It seems like, you were in deep thought. I just wanted to remind you that it's cold," said Levi then put a blanket around her shoulder.

His gesture made her surprised and speechless. "Thank you," is only what she'd say, totally stunned.

"What are you thinking?" asked Levi afterward.

"Huh? Uh, nothing. Just random stuff," she said.

"Okay. But surely it was very important because you did not hear me approaching, and when I call your name."

"You did?"

"Yes, I did." He chuckled.

Under that gloomy night sky, Madison staring at Levi this intense. She always contemplates the things if when does he would stop showing affection to her. Because all he does is to make her fall in love with him.

He is annoying, sometimes childish, but she can't deny how he was sweet and thoughtful toward her at a time.

However, his sights were only for Ca.s.sie. That is why the relations.h.i.+p they have—

"There, you can have a better look at my face."

She didn't notice when Levi leans on her. Madison's eyes widen, he was too close to her and his lips showing her a silly smile.

Madison steps backward to take a distance from him. "What are you doing?"

"You want to take a closer look at my handsome face? Then here," Levi steps forward and leaning on her again. "You can even hold my face," he said, then took her right hand to touch his face.

"I—" she was in dazed teasing like this by Levi. She can't stand the way he returned gazes at her, it was intense and was like he could see through her soul, and she wonders might he could see that she's falling in love with him.

"I— I better go back inside then sleep," she said, averted her gaze and grab her hand. But Levi won't let it go.

"Levi?" She tried to pull her hand one more time.

"All I wanted is for you to share your thoughts with me. But why I felt that you don't trust me?"

There is a pain in his voice and this made Madison s.p.a.ced-out. Why did he sound hurtful? She supposed to be the one who feels bitter, she thought.

"What are you talking about?" Confused, she asked Levi, try to understand his rant.

"Why I have a feeling that you are distancing yourself from me? You were near but you are closing yourself to me," he speaks out.

She's not prepared for his drama. How to respond to him? Words cannot find its way onto her tongue. She can't counter what Levi is putting her.

"What are you saying?" She let out a nervous laugh. "It's not your att.i.tude to become this dramatic, you know."

"Madison."

"I am not distancing myself. Why would you say that?"

"Madison..."

"What do you want then?" irritated, she asked.

"All I want is you to trust me, that you can talk to me, open up with me. I know nothing about you, and each day, you were closing yourself from me."

"What do you want to know? Nothing is amazing nor interesting about me, that's the truth. Except for my ability to time travel, and you know that already."

d.a.m.n it. She swears. Why did this guy begin ranting? She is not prepared to counter his confrontation. And why does he end up confronting her? She doesn't understand him at all.

"Quinn, I saw him on my way here when he sneaks in to check out Ca.s.sie. He may look calm but deep inside I know he is in pained."

Madison just continued listening to Levi's mumbling. Now he is bringing up about Ca.s.sie and Quinn. What is he implying to? That he felt the same way? That he is in pain now Ca.s.sie is missing into the time no one knows? Her thoughts and it's hurting her.

"If that happens to me, I might go crazy," Levi said.

Ah, she was right. It is about Ca.s.sie all along. Surely she felt jealous, but Ca.s.sie was in love with Quinn. What Levi has is only unrequited love, similar to her. They love a person, who was in love with someone else.

"I will do everything I could to find her, don't worry," she said and forced to smile. "Soon, Ca.s.sie will be with us again."

"Madison..."

"I'll go check out if brother Quinn left already. I will take a rest now," she said and walk past Levi.

"What I must do for you to believe me?" He queried.

"Huh?" Madison turned around to face him.

"I am here confessing like a fool but only got ignored," hurtful, he said.

Confessing? What confessing? What is the difference between confessing and confronting? She's lost.

"You weren't listening or paying attention to me. Don't tell me you like someone else? How about brother Quinn?"

She was dumbfounded. "Huh? What about him? Anyways, aren't you like Ca.s.sie?"

"Huh? What?"

"Aren't you in love with her?" there, she finally speaks this out.

"That's impossible!"

There is silence between them, pondering what is going on. Madison could see how Levi got puzzled the way his forehead showing black lines.

"How could you say that?" Levi asked, still look puzzled. "Wait, you were saying I am in love with Ca.s.sie?"

She bites her lower lip then nodded. She saw how made this Levi dumbfounded, then he burst out laughing. She wanted to kick him, then run inside. The whole thing feels humiliating, yet, she can't predict where this talk goes.

"Why do you think I was?" Levi then asked in a serious tone. This time, he also wears a serious expression; staring at her intently.

"Huh?" She's the one who is puzzle this time. "Isn't you like her?"

"I like her. But I realize it was just like a sister love," his reply.

Dumbfounded, she doesn't know how to respond again. Is she mistaken all this time? Confused written all over her face.

"Madison?"

"Hmm? What—"

"Don't go where I can't see you," he said.

"What are you talking about? I—" she gulped. Levi is too close, and she can't avert her gaze away from him.

"Don't leave without taking me with you."

She blinks many times before she replied. "You are saying nonsense. Looks dinner haven't properly digested here!" She gives a light punch on Levi's stomach.

"I am serious."

"Wait— where did this nonsense come from?" She tried to find an excuse though. She is not used to Levi's seriousness.

"I love you."

There is an angel pa.s.sed them because there is a silence like a minute pa.s.sed and Madison still has no reaction.

"So, don't go anywhere beyond my sight."

After Levi quoting this, he turned around and left her stunned.
