Serendipity - A Chance Encounter 174 I Will Give You Money!

Several hours before the press conference at The Royal Rose's bas.e.m.e.nt.

Daniel parked his car by the back entrance of his friend Sean's restaurant. There were a few men guarding the door and one man walked up to greet him with a bow.

"Boss."

Daniel b.u.t.toned his coat and walked towards the door, "Where's Sharp?"

"Master is waiting for you at the bas.e.m.e.nt. This way please.", he gestured with his hand.

Entering the back entrance of the restaurant, Daniel caught a glimpse of the kitchen where there were a few people preparing for their noon s.h.i.+ft. They walked down the hall and turned left before walking down the stairs.

Arriving at the bas.e.m.e.nt, Sean heard their footsteps. "Swift, welcome back.", his friend tapped him on the shoulder as a welcome.

Daniel nodded briefly and asked, "Where are they?"

Sean pointed a door to the left, "The old guy is in there, I put him on a small room just like what you said.". He moved his hand and pointed to the door on the right, "The young one is in that room."

"You found them very fast, as expected of you.", Daniel complimented his friend.

"Well, you already pointed me to the right direction. All I had to do was to give my men the order and they executed without delay. Besides, I would not have easily been able to if they were nice people but you know me, Swift. If they are horrendous, then it's easier since I find them fast."

Daniel didn't say anything else. At that point, all he wanted to do was to get it over with, a minute more is a minute longer for Samantha and Trident's suffering.

Seeing his friend in deep thoughts, he asked, "Who do you want to deal with first?"

Without answering, Daniel just walked up to the door on the left. He turned the doork.n.o.b and walked inside, closing the door behind him.

"Jeez, don't enjoy too much!", Sean yelled for Daniel to hear then he shook his head and stood by a table.

"You sure are crazy, Daniel.", he muttered as he opened a medium-sized bag from the side. He took out a sharpening stone and a knife, and started sharpening it while he whistled.

The room was dark with no windows, no fans or AC and only a dimly lit light was on. It was s.h.i.+ning above the previous CEO of Quantum Solutions, Sung Nan who was sitting on a chair. His hands were not tied but his ankles were and he was sweating profusely in between two tall men standing on either side.

Despite wanting to break free from his captives, there was nothing else he could do but wait for his sentence. He was neither good at fighting nor does he have the wits to think of how to escape successfully; he was merely a businessman who just loves money.

When Daniel entered the room, the two men moved to the side to give way to him.

Sung Nan looked up and saw a dark figure in a suit approaching him. He still couldn't see his face but the sound of his heavy footsteps and his dark aura were enough to scare him.

"W-who are you? Were you the one who brought me here? W-what do you want from me?", he stuttered his questions.

Daniel stood a couple of meters away from him. With both of his hands in his pockets, he spoke in an unimpressed tone, "Mr. Nan, long time no see."

As soon as Sung Nan heard his voice, he froze on his seat. There was only one man that he could think of who had an intimidating presence and a clear voice like that. But he got very confused, he didn't think that it was possible for that person to do this. Why would he? He didn't do anything to that man so there was no reason to capture him.

"I don't know who you are and I don't think that I have done anything wrong to you. Let me out this instant!", he ordered like he was the one in charge.

Daniel chuckled upon hearing him, he walked a few steps forward and sat on an armchair in front of the scared man; leaning his back on the rest, his face was still masked by the darkness.

"You don't seem to understand what your role is in here, Mr. Nan. Do remember what position you are in right now, do you think you have the right to demand?"

"I will sue you! All of you!! I have not offended anyone! Release me now!", he yelled once more.

A smile crept on Daniel's face, he was clearly amused by the stupidity of the man in front of him. "And are you sure that you have not offended anyone... at all?"

Sung Nan swallowed before he suggested, "What do you want?! Do you want money? I have lots of it! Release me and I will give you money!"

Another chuckle bellowed from Daniel. How comical was it to hear someone offering him money?

Sung Nan must be totally insane to think that he can buy Daniel Cho. If that were even possible, how much was he going to pay him? Seriously, who does he think he is?

Daniel leaned forward, his face was now shown by the dimmed light. "Mr. Nan, do you really think that I look like someone who needs money?"
