Serendipity - A Chance Encounter 198 Did You Think That I Was A Pushover?

The next day, while CEO Qin was off to dreamland, he had no idea how big the storm was about to come for him.

As usual, when he woke up, he did his morning routine and got ready for work. He was smiling especially wide that day because of the trouble that he caused for Daniel Cho yesterday. He knew that just by revealing those photos, it will cause a chain of reaction. It may look like it's only a simple case of infidelity but what most people don't know is that this scandal will definitely cause a commotion in the board of directors of Cho Corporation.

And it was already happening that morning as Daniel received a phone call that the board has requested a meeting to discuss this matter. The corporation has been implicated when the article claimed that Trident was receiving under the table privileges because of the two CEO's ambiguous relations.h.i.+p.

While it is not wrong to be romantically a.s.sociated with each other since they are both single, for the narrow-minded people just like some commenters of the articles, their relations.h.i.+p is being used against them. Some of the software companies who had joined the bidding several months ago have already believed the rumors and they started to feel that they were cheated.

The telephone lines in Cho Corporation Have been ringing since yesterday when the article was posted. And this morning, the phones still kept on ringing. The callers all wanted to know the truth behind the partners.h.i.+p between the two companies as much as they wanted to know the real relations.h.i.+p between Daniel and Samantha.

This was what Samantha didn't want to happen a couple of months back. She didn't want to create a problem regarding their cooperation because of their personal relations.h.i.+p.

Knowing all of the happenings inside the Cho Corporation from an insider, Mr. Qin happily went on his way to Qin Corporation.

When he got inside his office, he was whistling as he checked the news online. The media had reported about the current situation regarding the CEOs of Cho Corporation and Trident. Whilst he was enjoying the attention and trouble his rival was getting, his personal phone rang.

He checked the caller I.D. and saw his contact from National Tax Service. A slight crease formed on his forehead before he received the call.

"President Qin, I only knew about this just now! They are on their way there to conduct an investigation!"

CEO Qin abruptly stood up from his seat and slammed the table with his heavy hand as he yelled, "WHAT! Why is this happening?! When are they coming?"

"The chief received files and books. And they went through all of it yesterday. We weren't informed and I only even knew about it when I heard that they were already on their way to Qin Corporation."

"You are useless!" Mr. Qin screamed before he ended the call.

And just a few seconds after, the door from his office opened. Several men came in and they were all in NTS uniform.

His eyes went wide upon meeting the special agent who was a.s.signed, he introduced himself to the CEO. Handing him a warrant, the agent spoke, "Mr. Qin, this is a search warrant. You are suspected of tax evasion and we are here to conduct a search and investigate the matter. Please cooperate with us."

CEO Qin was speechless as he didn't know what to say to them. Beads of sweat formed on his face as the men started to seize files, data and hard drives from his office. The whole office building of Qin Corporation was full of NTS employees to gather all the pieces of evidence and a.n.a.lyze them.

President Qin has men in the company who was working for him and with him. One of those people was the Finance Director who used to study the law and he was intelligent. He's the one who executes the perfect way to do fraud within the company.

The Finance Director of the Qin Corporation made funds a.n.a.lysis reports and made all doc.u.ments as accounting fraud. With his skills, he made fake statements and receipts to hide all those money, he wrote fake books after fake books of their transactions and tax reports.

The search went for hours and there was nothing else CEO Qin could do but wait for his doom. Sitting on his chair, he was all alone in his office, his facial expression went dark when he realized who was behind all of this.

His a.s.sistant walked up to him cautiously as he was afraid that his boss will suddenly lash out on him. "President Qin, the media is outside. I think that you should exit through the back door." He said.

CEO Qin had been quiet the entire time and his train of thoughts was interrupted by the ringing of his phone. It was an unknown number but he picked it up anyway.

"President Qin." Daniel Cho spoke on the other line.

Mr. Qin's face became red because of anger, "DANIEL CHO! YOU F*CKING b.a.s.t.a.r.d!"

"President Qin, are you calling yourself?" Daniel chuckled, "I can see that you liked my present as you are very emotional right now. You don't have to thank me though."

"HOW DARE YOU DO THIS TO ME?!" He barked, the sound of his voice filled the room and the veins in his head had almost popped.

"What exactly did I do, President Qin? I didn't do anything wrong… I'm just merely doing my job as a citizen of this country. The only person you should blame for this is you, you did this to yourself." Daniel Cho said in a low voice, there was no hint of anger but his every word came with a threat with the way he spoke.

"My company is going to fall because of you!!"

"Tsk tsk tsk… President Qin, did you think that I was a pushover? Did you think that I was being lenient because I didn't do anything to you after all those childish articles?" Daniel paused but seeing that CEO Qin didn't reply, he continued. "I was merely waiting for the right time. You see, I had all the proof for years and every year, it's being updated. You didn't do anything to me then so I didn't bother with those books. But… you have touched my bottom line, I hope you enjoy my gift."

"YOU!!" CEO Qin was very agitated, he couldn't say anything back to Daniel after what he just heard.

"You still have a few days until your prosecution… until then, don't wander off too far, President Qin. Don't bother escaping, because wherever you will go, you'll be hunted. While waiting for your end, I suggest that you spend the remaining time with your family. Have a great time in prison."

Mr. Qin went berserk after Daniel's message. He threw the phone to the floor and it cracked. But he was still not satisfied as he started kicking the furnitures, flipping and thras.h.i.+ng everything in his sight. He turned his office upside down while he cursed Daniel Cho.
