Serendipity - A Chance Encounter 304 Unwanted Guest 2

The little potato wiggled his way out of Samantha as if he wanted to be put down. "You want to go down? Okay…" Samantha carefully bent down and placed him on the floor but Ashton pushed himself up until he was standing on his feet with Samantha holding him up carefully.

Ashton had been crawling and was always eager to go all around. They've been trying to help him stand on his own but he would always fall down.

Hannah took out her phone and pressed the video on. "Hey Ash, look over here… Ash… look at me." She called as she centered Ashton on the frame of her cellphone. They've been capturing photos and videos a lot because Samantha wanted to record as much as possible; she planned to keep everything for later until she was going to meet Daniel again. She felt so bad that he had not met his own son.

Silently wis.h.i.+ng the time to come when they'll be together, Samantha was also a little annoyed when she remembered him telling her that they'll see each other soon but he hadn't heard from him again.

The little boy shrieked and let go of Samantha's hand, waking her up from her trance. Everyone's eyes widened in shock when Ashton suddenly lifted his right foot and stepped forward, followed by the left and then another right step.

Samantha's mouth hung open while the other three gaped as they watched Little Ashton take his first steps. "Oh my G.o.d! Oh my G.o.d!" Samantha gushed, covering her mouth with her hands as she was so gleeful. She did not know what else to say; she was too overwhelmed by what she just witnessed before her.

Hannah squealed in delight, startling Ashton that he fell on his b.u.t.t. Samantha immediately picked him up and danced in excitement. "My baby!!! You walked! Oh my gos.h.!.+" Samantha got so emotional that she teared up, hugging the little bun in her arms. She could not explain the feeling that she had in her heart.

"I caught it on camera! I can't believe my timing! Joon, look!" Hannah excitedly replayed the video of the little potato's first steps — Nathan also peered in to see the video.

Their commotion in the dining room woke up their guest who was resting and when he opened his eyes, he was confused by his surroundings. He was sure that he was not in the hospital so just where was he? He struggled to get up but eventually, he managed to walk towards the door.

The door from the guest room opened and out came Gael wearing Seo Joon's white s.h.i.+rt and pants. He was still feeling a bit hazy after what happened to him and the pain killer that Nathan gave him; he struggled to walk towards them.

Everyone froze when they heard him coming except Nathan who was readily on his feet and helped him walk. "You shouldn't be walking around like this, or your st.i.tches might open."

Gael did not know Nathan and was even more confused to see the rest of the people in the room. "Why am I here? Where am I?"

Samantha turned around when he arrived so he did not see her right away but she spoke what was on her mind as she was still p.i.s.sed at him because of what he did back then. "Yeah, why are you here? I should have just left you there."

Gael's gaze turned to Samantha and was immediately reminded of last night's incident but seeing her carrying a baby distracted him. His brows furrowed and scanned the room but he did not see Daniel anywhere. "Is that your child? You have a baby?" He asked curiously.

Samantha did not answer Gael and continued to ignore him. Hannah wanted to lighten the mood and so she just invited him over, "Come and join us for breakfast."

"I'm not hungry," Gael responded, not wanting to interrupt their privacy. And just as he said so, his stomach growled.

Everyone else in the room chortled as he was caught redhanded. Gael cleared his throat and looked away; he sure was embarra.s.sed.

"Just get your a.s.s over here and eat," Seo Joon remarked. Seo Joon was aware of what Gael was but he was not scared at all. He just did not like this man for what he did to Samantha and Becca back then.

Samantha covered Ashton's ears and kicked Joon on the leg playfully. "Language, Joon," she chided, annoyed that baby Ash might pick up the bad word.

Bellevue Hospital

In a private room, Daniel and Lucas hovered over the patient's bed; Logan was shot and was still unconscious since last night.

Daniel had been awfully quiet the entire time as he was disappointed by the turn of events. Zevrick's men got away and they were only able to catch two of the client's men who were still refusing to talk. They were so close and yet their chance had slimmed down.

Placing a hand on Daniel's shoulder, Lucas said, "Don't worry, brother… we'll get them."

Without saying anything, Daniel just closed his eyes, clenching his jaw as he tried to calm himself down.

Meanwhile, at the parking lot of the same hospital, Philip got out of the car and opened the backseat's door.

Carrying Ashton in her arms, Samantha alighted the car and saw Nathan who had also just finished parking, the latter walked towards them.

"Let's go, my colleague is waiting for us in the lab to check your friend," Nathan informed as he took a glance at Gael.

"He's not my friend," Samantha quickly pointed out, earning a glare from the man. "I'll just stay here. I'm okay, I don't need to see a doctor," Gael said.

Samantha did not bother to convince him anymore. She thought that she was already kind enough to help him with his injury so she didn't want to do anything more for him.

"Whatever, you're a grown man. Suit yourself. You can sit there by yourself for hours or you can leave. I don't really care." She said, before turning around and sauntered towards the hospital entrance.

Clicking his tongue, Gael hated Samantha's guts for talking to him like that. However, even though he was reluctant, he got out of the car and followed them from behind.
