The weather was quite nice that afternoon when Daniel and Samantha decided to spend some quality time out in the garden. The entire five hundred square meter area was all gra.s.s and was decorated with different plants and flowers all around. It was the perfect place to spend their afternoon at home.

Daniel prepared a picnic mat and laid it on the ground while Samantha arranged some snacks on it. Ashton was sitting on the gra.s.s and playing with his toys. Wearing very comfortable loungewear, Daniel found a comfortable position and laid on the mat as he watched his son play by his foot.

"Honey, I wanna show you something." Samantha retrieved a tablet from the basket and laid on her side next to Daniel. 

"What is it?"

"It's a surprise…" she smiled as she scanned and found a folder that she prepared beforehand. Opening the digital folder, Daniel saw lots of files inside it. There were subfolders, images, and videos all of which seemed like they were taken by someone. 

"What are these?" He asked as he received the tablet from her.

"When I discovered that I was pregnant, I wanted to call you right away but… you know what happened. Then there were a few times when I actually wanted to sneak in a call for you but ended up not doing it until I started to record a video and thought that I should send it to you." Samantha chuckled, her eyes becoming misty as she recalled the past. 

"After making that one video, I made another one but still failed to show it to you. Just… ever since then, I started capturing everything. You see these were saved in the emails that I wanted to send."

"Just like what you did when you were in Country D? You also made videos for Mia." Daniel held her hand and caressed his thumb over her palm.

"Yeah… exactly." Samantha breathed deeply and continued. "Anyway… I have saved pictures and videos during my pregnancy, when I gave birth to our baby, Ashton's first days, and... basically from then until now. I tried to capture everything as much as I could because I wanted to show them to you."

Seeing Samantha's loving gaze, Daniel couldn't help but pull her towards him and kissed her. There were so many words that he wanted to say but all he could do was kiss her.

Daniel then chose random videos from the list just to take a look at them and they started to enjoy Samantha's vlogs. One particular video that made Daniel so emotional was Ashton's first day. He was so tiny and adorable, nestling in Samantha's arms. He loved watching it especially because he saw how she worked so hard to take care of their baby and then seeing her finally see their child. Samantha also talked to the camera as if he was there.

The videos and pictures had smiles, laughter, and just full of love; it was very heartwarming.

"I know I can't turn back time but I still regret that we couldn't be together then." Samantha pursed her lips as she voiced out her sentiments. 

Putting down the tablet, Daniel pulled her into a tight embrace, kissing her cheeks repeatedly before he kissed her lips. "Indeed, we can no longer go back to the past but we have the present… And we have a whole lot of time ahead of us. Thank you for this, Sam. I appreciate everything. I love you. I love both of you." He kissed her tenderly once more. 

The couples moment was interrupted by some coos and when they turned to look at Ashton, Daniel's mouth was wide open.

Ashton was standing by his feet and looking at him as if he was wondering why his mommy and daddy were hugging each other. Looking at his parents, Ash suddenly revealed a smile, showing his cute teeth. 

"Da!!!" Ashton uttered as he pointed his cute little finger to Daniel.

"Honey…" Samantha whispered. It was the first time that Ash ever said that syllable and it stunned both Samantha and Daniel. Feeling very excited, Daniel nodded, "Yes, that's me, baby. Daddy… I'm Daddy." 

They have been trying to help him walk but this was also the longest time that Ashton stood without help. Trying to make his son come closer, Daniel opened his hands as if he was receiving him and urging him to walk. "Ash, can you walk? Come to Daddy… come on…"

"Come here baby, lift your foot… you can do it. Come on." Samantha helped yet Ashton just looked at the two of them alternately as if he was trying to understand what his parents mean.

After a few more tries, Ashton Daniel finally raised his leg up and stepped his foot forward. But he did not stop just there, his first step was followed by a quick one with the other foot and then the other until he hurriedly walked towards Daniel's hands.

Baby Ashton's half run towards his daddy made Daniel very proud. There was an inexplicable feeling in his heart that he could not describe when he heard his son call him even if it was only a syllable. Furthermore, Ashton's call and steps towards him gave an amazing feeling; it was just something that money can't buy.

Daniel Cho has become a changed man. Their family business was his world back then and then came Samantha. Now that he has become a father, there were just so many things that made him excited and it did not even involve money. These simple things were his joy now – anything and everything about his son and the love of his life Samantha.

As soon as Ashton arrived in his hands, Daniel gently hugged the little boy and showered him kisses everywhere. "Very good! You're definitely daddy's little boy."

Ashton's giggles and squeals resounded in the garden. Making the atmosphere fun and lively. 

"Say it again. Say... Daddy... Da... dy..." Daniel urged baby Ash to utter the syllable again. However, as if the little boy knew what his daddy was trying to do, he did not follow him and instead just squealed and giggled, jumping up and down. He was smiling like he was teasing his own father.
