When the sun set, Liona and the men of the Mutant Brotherhood arrived at the hotel to pick Jiang Fei up. The party was hosted in one of the largest, most grand hotels that was in Los Angeles. To express their sincerity, they had booked the entire hotel and its empty rooms for the night. Just for the party…

After Jiang Fei had arrived at the dining hall, he was surprised to see a quiet, poorly illuminated hall. It was a luxurious fine dining experience. Food and drinks were constantly rolled in by waiters. Everyone was whispering to one another. It was an unworldly experience since he was used to the Chinese, loud and expressive social gathering.

Jiang Fei was not alien to this sort of gathering but he was not comfortable with it. He had been with Han Tianyu for so long and learned a thing or two about manners. Luckily, he had chosen to wear the tuxedo that the Mutant Brotherhood had prepared for him. He would have stood out for the wrong reason if he had worn his casual attire. Liona came in and automatically wrapped her arms around Jiang Fei.

Since the party was meant for Jiang Fei, all the other guests had already arrived, waiting for Jiang Fei.

Shroder walked up to Jiang Fei as he was walking on the red carpet at the center of the hall.

“Brother, welcome to America. I’d like to introduce you to one of the leaders of the Mutant Brotherhood. This is Mr. Desir, the Administrator for Foreign Activity,” said Shroder as he directed Jiang Fei to one of the tables.

“Good evening, Mr. Jiang Fei,” said Desir as he reached out his hand.

“Good evening to you too, Mr. Desir,” said Jiang Fei.

“0541, what’s this man’s power level?” Jiang Fei asked 0541. Even though he could sense Desir being a Level 4 Mutant but it was best to hear 0541’s accurate opinion.

“The Pinnacle of Level 4. However, I am detecting a powerful surge of energy inside him. He is very powerful, even for a Level 4.”

“Thanks.”

Jiang Fei kept his face as neutral as possible. If he understood what 0541 was saying, Desir could be a Mutant that was about to reach Level 5.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Jiang Fei. I’ve heard your name from Shroder here many times. I must say, seeing you in person does surprise me, given your age…”

“Haha! It’s a blessing and a curse–”

Jiang Fei stopped abruptly as he could feel an extremely faint amount of energy being pushed into his hand through Desir’s. That sort of energy was nothing harmful but it was sent into his body as a means to investigate Jiang Fei’s power.

“0541, teach this insolent fool a lesson,” said Jiang Fei in his mind. Even though he did scan Desir himself through 0541 but it was incredibly subtle. On the other hand, Desir had blatantly injected his energy into Jiang Fei! That made Jiang Fei incredibly angry. In comparison, Jiang Fei had only taken a look at Desir while Desir was molesting his entire body! Even though the two had the same objective but the methods were different.

“Yes, captain!”

With adequate power, 0541 had no problem to send a similar attack back.

Jiang Fei’s ring glowed briefly, releasing a small amount of energy to purge the infiltrator’s energy and direct it back at the attacker!

“Arck!” Desir cried.

When he realized that the energy that he sent was eliminated, he knew that he was discovered. However, by the time he wanted to let go of his hand, Jiang Fei would not let go. Instead, he gripped Desir’s hands.

The energy that Jiang Fei had injected into Desir was nothing destructive. However, it did leave a red circle on his palm.

To put it simply, Jiang Fei had only glanced at Desir while Desir had gone out of his way to touch Jiang Fei, inappropriately. Not only did Jiang Fei deny him, he had also spat on his face!

The red circle that was in Desir’s palm was left there purposely as a remark. No one simply spied on him and got away with it! In time, the mark would disappear.

Desir understood the intention clearly and dared not make a scene. He quietly nodded and let go of Jiang Fei’s hand. Unfortunately, Jiang Fei’s retaliation from being spied had reinforced Desir’s opinion about the Chinese being sneaky.

It was a show of prowess. If Han Tianyu was in his shoe, all he could do, at best, was detecting the foreign energy and purging it before the enemy could siphon any information. Redirecting the energy back at the attacker was completely out of his capability.

Unlike Han Tianyu, Jiang Fei was not a high profile weapon manufacturer nor was he a warmonger. He did not care about the consequences of his actions since he only needed their help to stand against the j.a.panese. To be fair, even though Desir was acting that way since he did not trust the Chinese, Jiang Fei had his reasons similar to Desir. Anyone who was not sharing the same land as me shall be treated with the utmost prejudice.

After his action backfired at him, Desir remained quiet and pretended that nothing had happened. Jiang Fei himself kept quiet as well as he did not want anyone else to notice their little energy ping pong battle.

After the little silent war, the rest of the guests surrounding Jiang Fei left. Shroder and Liona left the two alone to allow Desir to start his discussion.

“Mr. Jiang, what are the Martial Artist Alliance thoughts on the alliance to fight against the j.a.panese?” said Desir. He wanted to know what the Chinese were thinking about the upcoming war.

“To be completely honest, I don’t know. However, personally, I think that everyone should just get along to fight. How else would we fight against hundreds of thousands of Bio-Humans? I doubt any of us can stand against them,” said Jiang Fei.

“Haha. I think Mr. Jiang is over thinking it,” said Desir.

“Is that so? Do you perhaps have a deterrent for this conflict?” Jiang Fei asked. If the Mutant Brotherhood had a countermeasure for the j.a.panese, they would have already had the European Vatican as well as the China Martial Artist under their command.

“Well, I cannot deny that it would be a problem to fend off an army of hundreds of thousands of biologically enhanced humans. However, why do you think that the j.a.panese have not attacked? See, we have this thing called the nuclear bomb. Perhaps, we should bring the war to their turf instead of waiting for them to come to us!”

“What about the Level 5 Metahuman?” asked Jiang Fei. He had never thought of attacking first even though the alliance had such an idea. However, due to the presence of a Level 5 alien beast guarding their land, it would be best to wait for them to come instead.

“Oh? I thought that the Chinese had a way to fight a Level 5 Metahuman. If I remember correctly, the alliance has a powerful sword. The G.o.dblade,” said Desir.

“The G.o.dblade?” Jiang Fei asked. He had never heard of such weapon before.

“Ah? Weren’t you informed about it?” Desir c.o.c.ked his eyebrow. He had thought that in Jiang Fei’s position in the alliance, he would know about the G.o.dblade.

“I have no idea what you are talking about,” said Jiang Fei.

“G.o.dblade is an alien relic. In the eyes of the common folks, it looks just like any other sword or dagger. A hunk of useless steel in the face of machine guns. However, if used correctly, the blade can even kill any Level 5 Metahuman!” said Desir.
