“Mr Gu,” Tang Mo’er said smilingly, “How about this, when I fully recover, I’ll come over and register our marriage. In the study room, Gu Mohan had one hand in his trouser pocket and the other was holding on to his cell phone. The pharmacology research lab had phoned him. “President, we’re not capable of developing an antidote that is able to expel the love pea poison at this stage.”

Gu Mohan pursed his thin lips. “I’ve got it, continue with your research.”

He hung up the phone.

Knock knock. Yan Dong’s voice could be heard from outside. “President.”

Gu Mohan placed his cell phone back in his trouser pocket before answering, “Come in.”

Yan Dong entered the room and placed the doc.u.ments on the desk. “President, I’ve investigated the matter you’ve entrusted me with.”

Gu Mohan’s deep and narrow eyes flickered, he stretched his long legs open and arrived beside the desk, flipping through the set of doc.u.ments with his slender fingers.

“President, I’ve had some investigators check on the hospital that Lin Xuanji gave birth in 21 years ago. When Lin Xuanji went into labor back then, Qin Yawen coincidentally went into labor in that same hospital and gave birth to a baby girl.”

“But I sense something fishy, Qin Yawen’s childbirth records were intentionally erased. Moreover, someone tried to cover things up but it only made the issue more conspicuous. Qin Yawen’s childbirth records were altered to show that it was at a random hospital in Karghalik.”

Gu Mohan pursed his lips. “Have you found out who’s behind all of it?”

Gu Mohan facial expression was still the same, he didn’t have much of a reaction even after finding out the truth. He was sure that his mother would definitely have something to do with it ever since he tested the waters with her at the hospital previously. He drew his brows together. “Lu Jinwen had absolute control over the entire Capital back then. When Lin Xuanji was in labor, he had closed off the entire hospital, ensuring that people were only allowed to enter and weren’t allowed to exit. He wasn’t confirming it with Yan Dong but rather giving a definite answer.

Only Lin Xuanji would have the ability to pull off such an operation right under Lu Jinwen’s nose.

Yan Dong nodded. “Yes, Lin Xuanji was collaborating with Madam.”

Gu Mohan returned the doc.u.ment to its cover page and tapped his slender fingers on the surface of the desk. It made some rhythmic sounds, he was in deep thought.
