Flora’s pupils dilated with horror, she looked at the man standing outside her window, totally dumbfounded. Though she had already sensed something fishy going on with him, she had never expected him to have hidden his ident.i.ty so well.

Wasn’t life already good for him? He had formed a monopoly in the Capital, reigning over others in power, status, money and even women. He already had all of it and yet he had another ident.i.ty, one that could easily land him on his deathbed… such a dangerous ident.i.ty.

Lu Yan stood tall outside the car, he furrowed his brows while he puffed on his cigarette. He bent down, giving her a fake smile and he no longer pretended to be coaxing her. “Miss Flora, the game hasn’t started and you’re already thinking of running? Are you too much of a coward for this, hm?”

He then snickered at her, his chest pumping up and down.

Flora was petrified, she moved back, trying to get further away from this dangerous man in front of her. “You are… you are…”

“It’s none of your business who I am. Have a good nap and when you’re awake, we can continue,” Lu Yan said.

Flora felt a twinge in her neck, someone gave her an injection and her vision turned black as she fainted into a dead heap.

“Boss, Henry just gave Flora a call and we were able to intercept the signal. The call didn’t manage to connect but sly fox Henry seems to have already sensed something. He’s disappeared and our operation this time has failed.”

Lu Yan continued puffing on his cigarette while peering at the location-tracking monitor. He could see that Henry had already entered their targeted area and disappeared.

He had spent the past three months baiting Flora, tolerating her endless demands and even s.e.xual requests so that he could get her father, Henry to fall into his trap.

Everything was going as planned, until An’an…

Lu Yan didn’t have much of an expression on his face, as he instructed the Blood Forces, “Take Flora away, erase the memories that shouldn’t exist in her mind. With Flora in our hands, Henry will definitely be back. I’ll be waiting for him.”

“Yes, Boss!” The Blood Forces quickly vanished, as though they had never appeared at all.

Lu Yan slumped against the car, finis.h.i.+ng up the cigarette nonchalantly. He stubbed it out with his leather shoe and entered the hotel again.

In the hotel room.

The room was silent, An’an curled up on the bed in a fetal position. Her negligee was all wrinkled , appearing like she had just been taken advantage of. The thin straps were hanging on her delicate shoulders, almost falling off those slender curves.

Her eyes were closed and her hair was all over her face. The simple recollection of the scene in the bathroom earlier on had her quivering. She felt ashamed.

She didn’t know that men could treat women in such a way…

The room door opened. A string of heavy footsteps was heard, someone was approaching her.

An’an slowly opened her eyes, Lu Yan’s chiseled features appeared before her.

He still had that same black s.h.i.+rt on but with his belt taken off, he seemed rather devilish.

He had come back from outside and his expression was a little more sinister.

He walked in front, easily lifting her up and he brought her into the bathroom. Placing her down under the shower head, he switched on the hot water and asked, “Can you wash up by yourself? I’ll be outside, if you need any help just call me.”

He turned around and left.

Thud. An’an had lifted up the bottle of shower gel and threw it at Lu Yan’s face.

He could have easily dodged it with his skills but he didn’t.

The bottle of shower gel had hit him, sc.r.a.ping his forehead. A stream of blood trickled down his cheek.

He stopped walking.

An’an glared at him, her hands were balled into fists by her sides. “How could you not even say a single word and even think of leaving after treating me that way?”

Lu Yan pursed his lips, the steam in the shower had blurred his face.

He was surrounded by the hot steam. His bones and muscles were well defined, looking to be as strong as steel.

But he was still cold inside, the hot steam wasn’t even able to make him relax and become more warm towards her.

He didn’t say a word.

An’an charged over, lifting her head to look at him. She hurriedly wiped away the blood on his face and applied pressure on his wound. Her eyes were red and she cried, “Does it hurt? I’m sorry, I really didn’t do it on purpose. I can’t bear to hurt you… but, why did you do it? You have to explain yourself.”

Her tears had streamed down and it blurred her vision. She continued crying, “I’ve already made up my mind to leave you, even burning my bridges by having s.e.x with another guy. Why did you still have to come back, why did you have to treat me like this?

“Is it because I’m too cheap? Is it because you’re certain that even if you sleep with Flora, once you come back for me, I’ll drop everything and return to you again?

“I’ll admit that I still have feelings for you, I can’t forget about you. But what are you thinking now? You’re not even saying a single thing to me. Is it that you’re trying to cast me away again now that you’re done playing with me?

“How can you be so bad, how can you treat me this way? What did I do wrong? All I want is to love you, to build a family together with you, give birth to your child and make you a father. Why must you be so heartless towards me?”

An’an stretched out her arms, punching his shoulders over and over again.

She hugged him tightly once she was too tired of crying, burrowing her face in his chest.

Lu Yan didn’t move an inch, allowing her to hit and hug him. But over the process, his eyes slowly turned red.

He wanted everything that she had just said.

After all these years, he had aged. He was slowly becoming older.

He couldn’t feel it before he met her. It was only after meeting An’an that he realized, he actually yearned for a normal life.

He would eventually die, possibly in no time at all. After living such a dangerous life for so many years, he didn’t feel a thing about dying. However, it was only after meeting her, he actually became more greedy.

He wanted to live longer, he wanted warmth.

He wanted her.

She was always tempting him with things that he couldn’t afford to keep.

He also didn’t know what he should do.

Whatever, she would just eat alone.
