“Young Master,” the maid greeted him respectfully.

Fu Qinglun was clad in a white s.h.i.+rt and a black vest, followed by a black overcoat outside. He entered the living room and handed his briefcase over to the maid, his gaze riveting to the episode happening in the living room.

He glanced at Rong’rong, who was still on the carpeted ground, and also Madam Fu. He might have sensed something fishy going on and so his brows were knitted, before his gaze landed on Lin s.h.i.+yu.

He sized her up, noticing the red marks on her wrist. His face turned somber and he walked over slowly.

“What’s the matter?” He stretched out his arm and held onto Lin s.h.i.+yu’s hand while asking.

Lin s.h.i.+yu shook her head in response. “It’s nothing much.”

His gaze sharpened and he glared at Rong’rong confrontationally.

Rong’rong was left on the carpeted ground, she dug her nails deep into her palms and was overcome by too much hatred to even feel the pain.

She had totally failed in her attempts to make Lin s.h.i.+yu the evil woman.

Lin s.h.i.+yu was able to counteract her moves and easily pull Madam Fu and Fu Qinglun over to her side, she wasn’t easy to deal with.

Madam Fu could already tell what Rong’rong was trying to do. She had pretended to fall in order to accuse s.h.i.+yu, but Madam Fu couldn’t bear to expose Rong’rong since she was her only daughter. She turned to look at Fu Qinglun instead. “Qinglun, you’re back?”

She had raised this son of hers for the past 27 years, even if he wasn’t her biological son, they had already built a rapport that could outperform the mere ties of blood.

After hearing Madam Fu calling him, Fu Qinglun quickly retracted his gaze and greeted Madam Fu, “Mom.”

Lin s.h.i.+yu retracted her hand and turned around, her gaze landing on Madam Fu. She suddenly raised a question. “Mom, didn’t you mention previously that Qinglun had a nickname that sounded really feminine, what was it?”

She didn’t utter a word and just turned around, preparing to leave.

“Brother Qinglun, I’m in so much pain, could you please help me up?” Rong’rong was pestering Fu Qinglun again.

Lin s.h.i.+yu didn’t falter, she walked out of the Fu family’s mansion and was on the streets in a matter of seconds.

The cold night breeze blew her wavy hair around when her ringtone suddenly rang. She had an incoming phone call.

She took her cell phone out and answered the call. “h.e.l.lo.”

“s.h.i.+’s.h.i.+, where are you right now? I’ll come over and find you right away.” Fu Qinglun’s magnetic voice resounded in her ears, he sounded frantic.

He had ran out of the mansion to look for her.

Fu Qinglun stood tall along the streets, he clutched onto his cell phone tightly while looking around. The city was brightly lit with neon lights and it was crowded everywhere, he still couldn’t find the woman he was looking for.

He continued searching, not intending to give up.

But her euphonic voice could be heard. “Fu Qinglun, are you really Zi Jun?”

“Fu Qinglun,” She interrupted his words, “I’ll be waiting for you outside the City Hall tomorrow morning at eight o’clock. Let’s get our divorce decree then.”

Her words seared into Fu Qinglun’s mind, his body stiffened and he was despondent. She was still determined to divorce him.

Fu Qinglun stood on the spot, his face turned gloomy and he clutched onto his cell phone till his joints were white. She had already made up her mind, what else could he do about it?

He was the one who tied her beside him forcefully, thinking that he would be able to keep her by his side forever. But it obviously didn’t work, she wasn’t willing to continue being together with him.

He was overcome by helplessness, his throat was dry and he could only utter one word. “Okay.”

“Let’s head inside then.” Lin s.h.i.+yu stretched her legs out and walked up the steps.

Fu Qinglun could only watch her from the back and feel a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach. She had nothing else to say to him other than talk about their divorce.
