“Miss, I’m sorry, it wasn’t intentional. Are you okay?” The man quickly apologized.

An’an shook her head, the water didn’t wet her clothes. “I’m fine.”

She then left.

As the man watched An’an leave, he was in a daze.

“Brother Li, what are you looking at?” The female military medical officer, An Xi, walked over.

The Blood Forces’ a.s.sistant commander, Li Si watched as An’an slowly disappeared out of his sight. It was that girl, the girl that Yan Zi loved.

Fate worked in mysterious ways. So she had arrived in Miaojiang too.

Li Si shook his head. “I just knocked into someone, it’s nothing much. An Xi, how is Yan Zi doing recently?”

An Xi’s face turned serious and she shook her head. “Brother Ah Yan’s drug addiction is very serious, we’ve started the rehabilitation treatment for three whole months but he isn’t getting any better. This time, we’re in Miaojiang to look for some medical herbs to lessen his torment.”

Lu Yan had been in drug rehabilitation for a few months. Despite having great endurance and a strong build, he hadn’t been able to get through it. Over the past three months, he had suffered immense pain and agony.

“An Xi, no one must ever find out about our ident.i.ties. It’s completely confidential. An’an was walking along the corridor and she stopped walking when she pa.s.sed a room.

There were some sounds coming from inside, and the sound of a chair falling on the ground.

What was happening inside?

An’an wasn’t normally the curious type, but when she saw the door, she actually couldn’t help but walk in front to push open the room door.

The room was pitch dark and when she opened the door a little, she could see the chair that had fallen onto the ground with the sliver of moonlight that shone in from the window.

There was someone tied to the chair. Judging from his build, it seemed to be a man.

The man had his back facing her and since it was dark, she couldn’t see what he looked like at all.

But she could tell he was tall and brawny, and see that he had both arms and legs tied to the chair. In the darkness, the room was totally silent. It was so quiet that she could hear the man’s breathing.

He was breathing heavily and his chest seemed to be pumping. He appeared to be suffering from some form of great pain.

He was breathing in and out, exhaling loudly…

His breathing was heavy, and it was a little manly at the same time.

An’an moved her legs, she wanted to get closer to him.

But she heard a hoa.r.s.e voice. “Who is it?”

The chair moved a little, in the darkness, a pair of bloodshot eyes riveted on her.

It was rather fierce and An’an turned around, wanting to run out of the room and escape.

She heard a sound behind her. Though the man was tied to the chair, he had already freed himself from the strings and climbed up from the ground. He began to chase after her.

An’an had already run to the door and she was about to reach the brightness outside again. Stretching out her hand, she reached to pull the door open.

But someone had arrived even quicker, slamming the door closed.

Seeing the door being slammed closed, An’an wasn’t even able to reach before a muscular arm was around her waist, turning her around.

Her back was against the door and the man had sandwiched her between the door and his chest.

“Who are you? What do you want from me? Let go of me, let go of me right now!” An’an started pummeling him.

Her hands were on his muscles and they started tensing up, getting rock solid.

His upper half was bare and he only wore a pair of long pants beneath. She had accidentally touched his skin and felt his muscles. She couldn’t deny that he was kind of s.e.xy.
