Kazuya is speechless at the girl's words. It was a simple line; anybody could say those words and not mean it. But when Lyn says them, Kazuya felt like it actually meant something. So when she abruptly pulled away and started to walk off right after she said those words. Kazuya didn't know what to say.

Still, he chased after her regardless, and the two of them left the rooftop of the building. No sooner had they exited and walked a few steps out. They both hear a large rumbling sound; the building behind them had completely collapsed. Kazuya's eyes go wide, that timing is it just a mere coincidence? Either way, they just got lucky there. Even if it is him, Kazuya had little confidence that he could save them from that situation.

Lyn looked back, "Kazuya..."

"Holy..."

"Kazuya?"

Why isn't she shocked that the building just fell apart the moment?

"Lyn," a voice called out.

Kazuya turned and found a man with white hair and a red streak. He frowned at the 'intimate' way the man called Lyn.

"s.h.i.+oka," Lyn addressed, "Did you finish?"

"Perfect plan. See? The building just fell apart."

"Good work."

So, it was this guy who exploded the building. Who is he though? While Kazuya knew that Lyn had made contact with people during her training with her eldest brother. Kazuya thought he didn't have to worry about any strange men. There is no way that Prince Andrew would let his sister a.s.sociate with any weirdos. At least that's what he thought so initially. It seemed like, however, that he was wrong. Or maybe..

"Kazuya? What's wrong?" Lyn asked, a hint of concern in her voice. "Are you unwell?"

"No," Kazuya wrapped his arms around her, protectively, "Who is this?"

"Ah.."

"So your Kazuya? Hmm," s.h.i.+oka looked him up and down, causing him to frown more, "You like this type? I wouldn't have expected it from you."

Lyn sighed, "Enough insulting him. Let's get going already."

"Sure, sure. But really what are you thinking? Prince Allen I understand, but this guy? He's dangerous."

"I chose Kazuya," Lyn said. Kazuya liked how she said chose, it made him feel like he was more important than he ought to be, "You or anybody else has no right to judge or criticize."

s.h.i.+oka whistled, "Right, but even if I don't judge. I'm sure your brother is already. It's just a pipe dream for you to be together. Better run back along to your fiance, who is being very patient with you."

Kazuya's gaze turned cold. He already knew all this. Prince Andrew has only temporarily accepted them being together. There is no way that man would allow him and Lyn to be together for real. Kazuya understands that better than anybody. But even so, even so -- he wanted to continue dreaming that things were still okay. How naive of him.

More and more people will continue appearing, saying that he doesn't deserve to be with Lyn. More people will appear and point out the differences between him and Prince Allen. The royal family, the elites. All those people will point out that he is a mere commoner. Lyn is still a Princess despite her circ.u.mstances. Kazuya didn't know what excuse they will give the public when revealing Lyn's ident.i.ty. But they most likely have it planned already.

Where does that leave him? Lyn already has a fiance. They may be dating now, but their relations.h.i.+p will have to end when she gets married. He doesn't want her to engage in anything immoral. Heck, even them being together now is wrong. Most people would point out that it's okay. Many elites fool around before their engagement and even after. But Kazuya didn't want Lyn to become one of those people.

Lyn deserves happiness; he can't be the one to bring it to her. Soon, the day would come where he will have to end his relations.h.i.+p with her. The thought made him sick to the very core of his being. But Kazuya understood full well that he couldn't expect things to continue the way they are now forever.

Besides, he has to return to the Sound Kingdom soon. When that happens, Kazuya knows that he can no longer put off his work. He can no longer feign ignorance and give the proper report the elders have been asking for. This entire time he has been proving them with as little information as possible regarding Lyn. They've been letting him off the hook this entire time. But for how much longer?

...

Kazuya isn't in a good mood when he has to split away from Lyn again, even more so since that s.h.i.+oka guy's appearance. The girl too seemed reluctant to leave his side. However, in the end, he and Lyn still parted ways. A deep sigh escaped his lips.

' That girl's life is already one that will be colored with darkness. Her destiny foretells a clear bad omen, a cloud this large won't disappear'. Even so sensei, even so, sensei he wants to do something for her sake.

If he can help her, he would do anything to make sure that she is living a peaceful life.

He would do anything. He may not deserve to be with her.

Kazuya halts in his tracks and Let's out a large sigh.

So that's how it was, even without the others nagging him not to go. There's still someone who will stop him, huh? Kazuya had finally escaped his friend. No, he had no choice but to result in extreme measures. He had seen a magic flair earlier and didn't waste any time executing a quick plan in his hand. He ended up drugging his friend. Kazuya didn't want to resort to such a method. But her life might be at stake; he will risk nothing a second time.

Again, huh? That time. ...if it were to happen again, then she would definitely fall apart. Even so, Kazuya stops walking. " I wasn't expecting you of all people to stop me."

The person doesn't reveal themselves and hides behind the lamp post, yet Kazuya already knew who it was. "Tsk, not like I had much of a choice yer know? Even if I am of higher rank, there's no use in disobeying that guy. Kazuya, don't help her."

Kazuya clenched his fist, " Don't you guys know what you're dealing with here?"

If it was just a normal group, then he wouldn't help her. After all, he of all knew people understood it, the extent of her strength. That's right; if it was just any old group, then there wouldn't be a need for him to worry. Being a side of this world meant you'd always have someone who would target you. But those people don't kill each other; sure they'll beat you up so you can't move. But killing is never an option. Since the moto is usually 'It's the stronger who wins.'

That's right it was because of that motto that's he's always felt as though there wasn't any need to worry about her. At least when it came to a fight that is. Kazuya knew that there are plenty of other reasons why he should worry about the girl. That strength is deadly after all, it's something that has caused her a great deal of pain.

His gaze lands on the skies, grey. It will rain.

"What is it?"

"It'll rain tonight. With the skies in towns like this, you can usually tell when the clouds are facing in a particular direction," Kazuya explained.

The cloaked figure suddenly cursed.

"On second thoughts go. Maybe you should go too. That girl gets especially dangerous when it's raining. It was something that was discovered straight after you left, though. So you probably don't know about it. It's like she becomes momentarily possessed by some sort of demon or something. It's not as if she will harm anyone she knows. But even if they are tar getting her, they don't deserve to die. When she's in that mode though she won't give it a second thought."

Once those words were said, Kazuya didn't hesitate to run in the direction where he had seen the magic shot. Geez, that girl she really does know how to get herself involved in even more problems. Though Kazuya already knew about it in a sense. After all, he was her partner, already back then he noticed it. That there was something about her, that was different.

Her aura of strength, even though it was already crus.h.i.+ng and strong then. Kazuya felt as though it was something that could still improve. Damm it, even if he runs now he won't be able to make it.

'Well, that is only if you need our help.'

He grits his teeth; there's no choice. He didn't want to result to asking them. But if it's like this, then there's no choice anymore even if he has to swallow up his pride to do this. How pathetic, thinking of pride now? Lyn is in danger.
