Lyn was not in the mood for a ball. Why would she be? But, she's never had any say in this. She s.h.i.+fted uncomfortably in her dress. Wearing this long gown is making her incredibly uncomfortable too.

All eyes on her, looking her up and down. Eyes filled with emptiness and no compa.s.sion. 'Those people will surely ask you loads of questions. But remember Lyn, you are in a position to refuse to speak to them. You are the Princess of this nation and my fiance. You can decide whether you speak. They cannot make you do anything.'

Even with Allen's rea.s.suring words. Lyn knew it wouldn't be that simple. People will use a great deal of effort just to get her to talk, that much Lyn understood.

Lyn took a deep breath; this must be the first time she's attended a ball without her mask even though it's still foreign for her.

"I am Lyn, pleased to meet you all."

"Princess Lyn, Princess Lyn."

Her name. That's the other name her parents gave her, and yet when they speak it, it feels disgusting. So disgusting and vile. To suddenly hate the name that is given to her, in this situation, she can hardly be blamed for it; and yet right now, this name is something she wishes to discard.

The conversations that flow afterward are entirely lost to her; she does not know what she says in response. There are a lot of people who speak to her so easily and openly, yet she can see it, the fear. They are all afraid; they are all trying to get on her good side to escape the fear.

Just like Allen told her, this world is even more corrupted then the plain elite side. Elites may be even more corrupt than the humans who think nothing of money. The people here do not care about the deaths of their companions, let alone saving anyone who is in need of help. Do these people truly deserve to live? 'Why are you hesitating? Isn't it obvious what you want to do? Do you need me to take charge, is the light side consuming you too much Lyn? You are the Queen. '

Saaya. ... Saaya's words are the epitome of evil, and yet this child is also light. These people fear her and are trying to get on her good side.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click for visiting.

This scent. Her favorite. ..scent. Lyn whipped her head around. Is he here too? Is Kazuya here?

..

Lyn found him immediately; he was on the second floor, and from his position, Lyn could tell he had been watching her. She wrapped her arms around him. "Lyn, you should go back."

Not hearing a response, he spun the her around to see her pouty cheeks.

"You didn't tell me you were meeting, sir Morris here."

"It was last minute."

"That's a lie, you and Allen discussed it for sure."

"Why is it that you're really sharp on such matters but slow when it comes to the important stuff?"

Important stuff? Lyn looked at him blankly and feigned ignorance. Of course, she knew what he was talking about.

"Alright, so we may have said a word or two. The best way for me and Morris to speak now is  ball, since meeting in the open is risky."

"You should have told me," Lyn mumbled. If she knew Kazuya would come here, she wouldn't have to worry.

"My bad, are you angry, Lyn?"

"Very. But I'm glad in a way; I can remain sane if I know you're here."

"Yeah, I know." Kazuya pushes her to the nearby wall and gently cups her cheeks. He brushed his lips against her ear, "Sane, huh?"

"Kazuya?"

Kazuya gently kissed her cheeks and ears before drawing back. That didn't stop Kazuya from looking at her. Lyn was unsure of what to do. So many people have been staring at her since earlier. But, it's only when this person stares at her does she lose her calm.

"What is it, Kazuya?" Kazuya doesn't answer and continues to stare. Lyn glances around before saying, "Um, if you want to kiss me. ..you can."

"Stupid. What on earth are you saying?"

"I'm wrong? I thought you wanted to kiss me. I mean it's okay if you don't, but I wouldn't mind it if you did it either." Lyn said.

Kazuya nodded, "Gee, what's with you being able to say stuff like that so easily? You, you seemed to be in low spirits. So I wanted to take a closer look at what you that's what it was," he admitted.

Lyn looked at Kazuya gently, and he looks away embarra.s.sed. "You must have thought that because you're always mindful of my feelings. So you think those things needlessly."

"You think so. . .?"

"Yes, because your very kind Kazuya," Lyn knew from the look in his eyes that he wanted to refute the words. But she would not let him; she genuinely believes that. A person who has shed so much blood - and yet if he really is a bad person. She wouldn't be able to feel such warmth whenever he holds her.

"On second thoughts, Lyn, let's kiss for a bit."

"En okay."

..

'Hey brother, what does forever mean?'

'It means something much further than the end of the world.'

After reluctantly parting ways with Kazuya, she searched for Allen. But, when she found him, he was occupied, so she left. Now then, what does she do? Maybe she should have brought Pupillam here. She's bored.

Lyn halted when she saw him. It was her brother; he was sitting idly in the corner of the room. Surprisingly enough, people weren't approaching him. After speaking with Rhys regarding Arthur. She recalls those bitter feelings from the past. It was only natural. What her brother did was not wrong. Her eldest brother may be cruel, but he would not harm people who do not harm him. If she didn't know Arthur and heard the story from an outside point of view, she would have thought the same too.
