Keira was touched when she got to know that Zach had brought some presents for her parents.

She only found out about it when Zach opened the trunk of his car and got the paper bags out of it.

"I was not quite sure if you would like it. But I hope you will," Zach said as he greeted Keira's parents and handed them the paper bags.

"Oh, you shouldn't have bothered. But thank you so much, Zach. We appreciate it. Come in, follow me. I'm sure that both of you are already hungry." Mrs. Chan said enthusiastically as she led the way to their dining room.

Everyone sat and began to eat. Zach asked Keira what would she want to eat as he put it on her plate.

Mrs. Chan looked at Zach, admiring as to how the latter was so thoughtful and caring about her daughter.

She was elbowed by Field Marshal Chan, as he gestured her to stop and eat instead of looking at the couple.

"By the way, Keira, you would soon start to work, right?. I'm so proud of you, dear. I'm soo excited to see you on the screen," Mrs. Chan said proudly.

Keira winked and said, "Yes, Mom… I'll work hard so you can watch me at prime time news soon. I'm very excited too!"

Field Marshal Chan laughed and commented, "Hmm, I heard the main anchor will leave soon. I wonder who would replace her."

"Dad, whoever she is… I will also replace her soon…" Keira said in a serious voice.

Mrs. Chan laughed as she said, "Dear, you're so confident. You should survive as a field reporter and gain more exposure first. Such a long way to go. Why would you choose the hard way when you can get it the easy way around."

"Ahem!" Field Marshal Chan interrupted with a cough and scolded his wife with a glare.

Keira laughed and looked at Zach as she said, "I like it this way. I mean having or achieving something or gaining success by working hard is the best experience and most satisfying out of all."

"Yeah, Keira is right, sweetheart… Don't you think so, Zach?" asked Field Marshal Chan.

Zach smiled and answered, "Yes, Sir. It's more rewarding to earn success through sincerity and hard work."

Field Marshal Chan nodded in agreement.

"By the way, Mom, Dad, Zach is going to take me to his hometown to meet his family this weekend," Keira said excitedly.

Mrs. Chan's eyes sparkled as she said, "Oh, that's nice. Make sure you behave well, so they will like you."

"Mom! I always behave well now!" Keira said as she pouted her lips.

"Oh, alright… Then you two enjoy the visit," said Mrs. Chan with a wide smile that almost reached her ears.

Zach was going to take her daughter to meet his family and that only meant that he was serious with Keira.

Mrs. Chan couldn't wait for the two to get engaged, then married. The two simply looked perfect together.

...........

Torin woke up and felt thirsty, so he went out to get some water. He startled when he saw Lyra, standing in the dimly lit kitchen, wearing only her glowing sleepwear.

"What the heck, Lyra, why haven't you turned the light on!" he exclaimed because it indeed was a bit dark.

"NO!" Lyra shouted, but Torin had already turned the switch on.

's.h.i.+t!' Torin cursed as his eyes widened. Lyra was wearing very thin sleepwear and he could tell that she did not wear a bra. And her shorts were too short too.

"The heck, Lyra!" he exclaimed as he turned off the light.

"That's why I haven't turned the light on. It's summer and hot. I usually wear something like this when it's hot." Lyra explained.

"At least put a robe on whenever I'm here," complained Torin as he walked towards the refrigerator.

"Sorry, next time I will," answered Lyra who also walked toward the fridge to pick up a bottle of water.

"What the heck," Torin complained once more before Lyra's head b.u.mped into his.

"Sorry," Lyra murmured as she gently caressed the spot on Torin's head where she hit.

'd.a.m.n!' Torin cursed inwardly because he could clearly see through her sleepwear with the refrigerator's light, so he immediately straightened up.

"Geez, why are you so comfortable with me?" he said irritably.

"Why wouldn't I? You're the safest person, Bro," praised Lyra with a laugh.

'That's it!' Torin fumed as if he reached his limit. He looked at Lyra intently and walked towards her.

"What?" Lyra murmured when she noticed Torin was moving closer to her. She stepped backward until her back reached the wall.

"Hey, what are you doing?" Lyra asked as she suddenly felt the irregular thumping of her heart.

"Do you really think you're safe with me?" Torin muttered, and Lyra could feel his breath on her face. But it was dark, so she couldn't clearly see Torin's face.

"Of course, Bro! So stop this!" Lyra hissed.

"Aren't you scared at all? Well, let me tell you, you should be…" said Torin. Lyra could tell that his face was just an inch away from hers.

Then she heard a click and the lights turned back on.

"See? Look at your face… You are so scared that you feel like you would die, right?" Torin said with a grin.

Lyra twitched her mouth and pushed Torin away, as she said, "a.s.shole!"

Then she quickly ran towards her room.

Torin loudly inhaled and exhaled several times to calm himself.

"Oh G.o.d, one month? Oh please, why are you doing this to me?" he complained irritably.

"Maybe, I should stay inside the Military Base for a while," he murmured as he walked back to his room. Because at this point, he couldn't tell how long he would be able to control himself...
