Thea could feel the piercing stare of Jeru at her from afar. Thea let out a sigh of frustration.

Chin informed her that Jeru knew. He had the knowledge of what had happened that night and he was on the move to investigate Chin and her. Chin needed to leave her for a while to fix the mess she created so it would not reach to Leon's ears because if that happens, then their plan to free Thea from him will be in jeopardy.

The event was about to start and she was uneasy because of Jeru's continuous stare at her. She knew that he was watching her every move. 'Don't worry I learnt my lesson the hard way and will not dare to make a drastic move!' She wanted to shout at him because if eyes could kill, he had already killed her several times today!

And as this one pervert was not enough to torture her lone self, her heart was jolted with the view of Zach entering the function hall with Keira. 

'What is this? Will I end up double dead tonight?' Thea mused as she bit her lip to control her emotions. The pain was surreal, stabbing her back and forth continuously so hard that she felt she was almost dead. But she was afraid to die… Afraid to die lonely and a loser…

Seeing Zach and Keira head forward for the dance, Thea felt a wave of pain in her heart… she froze on her spot and stood like a statue, her gaze fixed at Zach and Keira, walking towards the center along with others to dance. 

Thea noticed how Zach was smiling wide at Keira and his eyes… How she missed those eyes and that doting stare Zach gave, were full of love for her once, but today there was only Keira in them, no one else. 

Thea picked another gla.s.s of drink and gulped it all in one go. Her eyes were starting to swell as she suppressed the tears that were about to fall anytime soon. She even bit her lip hard to control her emotions, feeling the metallic taste of blood 

She almost shrieked when she saw Zach laughing while Keira said something… He never laughed like that before when they were together. Seeing Zach laughing like that made Thea smile unconsciously. Zach looked so happy, those smiles and laughter was just too lovely for her eyes.

"I want to talk to him at least," she mumbled in frustration as she drank another gla.s.s of wine. Out of herself, she walked towards the center of the hall without a partner to dance with. Her eyes never left Zach and she kept muttering, "I just want to talk to him!"

Suddenly her arm was pulled abruptly and startled she gasped as Jeru's dark face came in front of her eyes unexpectedly. She felt his arms around her waist as he pulled her for a dance farther away from Zach and Keira.

"Stop it already! I won't let you ruin the good mood between the couple!" Jeru hissed. "What?!" Thea burst out as she tried to get away from Jeru's arms but Jeru was too strong for her to succeed, as he held her firmly.

"What ruin? What do you think I am? I am not that despicable a woman you think I am! I won't do anything to him, I just want to talk to him once!" Thea murmured and this time the tears she was trying so hard to contain till now, suddenly fell from her eyes. 

Jeru sighed and was speechless at the same time. His gloomy expression suddenly became soft as he felt Thea bury her face in his chest and she sobbed incessantly. 

"You have to let go. Unless you forgive yourself, unless you forgive the situation, unless you realize the situation is over, you won't move forward... You have to realize that some people can stay in your heart but not in your life." Jeru stated, making his voice very clear and vivid for Thea to hear.

"Do you think I don't know that. It's easier said than done! I just want to talk to him for a proper closure somehow. At least that way…" Thea said stuttering but paused and left the words at hang.

"Why is it so hard?" she whispered instead. Jeru let out another sigh and looked at Keira and Zach. The couple had their own world, like nothing matters to them except each other's presence.

"Nothing is easy, so I hope last night will be the last attempt you made because I will definitely put you in your proper place if you make another move to harm Keira." threatened Jeru that made Thea smirk as she raised her face to look at his stern expressions.

Then she added, "Take off your perverted hands of me!" before she pushed him away and harshly let herself out from his embrace. 

Jeru was frozen and he was left totally stupefied. 'Perverted hands? Mine?' he mused irritably. Since when did he become a pervert? 

He felt like a bucket of ice cold water had been splashed on him when he recalled what had happened last night. And how perverted his hands were at Thea's body. Pervert? Thea was still burning in fury with how Jeru threatened her. 'How dare he?' she mused annoyingly. It's not like he was the one who had lost something in the process. 

What was wrong with talking to Zach? She just wanted a simple conversation... She wouldn't have any other opportunity because once she's back in the City, Leon's eyes would always be on her, watching her every move.

"If you want you can wait in the room. I can't leave yet, I have to wait till the event ends," Keira whispered after the dance. Zach grinned as he answered, "Why would I stay in the room? Let me stay here instead while I watch my beautiful wife in action."

Keira sighed and her eyes looked at Thea before she said to Zach, "I think you and Thea need to talk at least once seriously." Zach followed Keira's gaze and replied, "Yeah I know what you mean… I want to talk to her too to clear everything out and thank her I guess, because in the process, I got to meet and marry a wonderful person as you. My loving and persistent wife."

"Persistent?" Keira asked grinning. Zach pinched Keira's nose and said teasingly, "Yes thank you for pursuing me. See your hard work was successful! In the end, I'm all yours!"

Keira blushed hard and hit Zach's chest. But she would not dare object Zach's words because it was all true and she was proud of it.
