Zach buried his nose in her hair, smelling her sweet scent and Keira snuggled a little more in the crook of his neck. She tried to persuade him to let her go by herself to her family mansion to which Zach refused. Keira insisted Zach to stay in his condo unit and wait for his family to arrive and let J&J drive her to her family mansion. 

'Alright! When the wife is stubborn, the husband has to give up and agree with her arrangements.' So that was what Zach did! He finally sighed and agreed to whatever Keira said.

At Chan's Mansion...

Keira was shocked to see the grand preparations her parents had done to welcome Zach's family. 

"Is there a wedding feast for the whole army today mom? Isn't it a bit too much?" Keira commented when she saw how her parents had their garden arranged with beautiful decorations, for a warm gathering. Their chef would cook and serve the dishes personally in the garden for everyone. 

"What do you mean this is too much? That's our son-in-law's family. And this is our first meeting. Nothing is too much. We must welcome them wholeheartedly. And moreover he will take care of our only princess on our behalf from now on, so however much we do for him is never too much. This is just nothing…" said her mom while continuing to instruct the helpers.

Keira also saw the gifts that her parents had prepared for Zach's family members. She was impressed with the thoughtful selection of beautiful gifts for them. She grinned and hugged her parents.

"Thank you so much, Mom and Dad. Thanks for being the best parents in the world," she whispered crying. She was grateful to have such a supportive family by her side.

Field Marshal Chan patted her on the head and said, "If you are so thankful, then think about gifting us a grandchild soon to play with."

Keira was getting a little emotional after seeing all the preparations. She released her parents and looked at them and smiled faintly. Her father cupped her face, wiped the tears under her eyes and softly said, "It's hard to believe that my little bird has grown up and is going to have a nest of her own. I am overwhelmed with emotions to even say anything to you. May G.o.d bless you always, my child." 

Keira smiled and hugged her father tightly. "Thank you so much for your blessings and for everything else you have always done for me, Dad." She paused for a few seconds and then said, "Dad,I have a request to make. I want Zach to quit the military after his current mission is over. I get scared everyday and many times I do not understand how to cope with my fear of losing him. If Zach quits the army my mind will be very much at peace."

Field Marshal heard her say those things and replied, "Keira, have you talked to Zach about this before you asked me?"

"Not exactly, Dad, but he was also talking about settling down in the province once, where he had bought his property and he wanted to focus on the ranch to develop the best meat exporter company there."

Field Marshal Chan said, "Keira, to keep away from danger, Zach doesn't need to quit the military, he will soon be promoted to my position after I retire because he is the most capable person for this post as of now. Then he can choose to either join the missions in person or just supervise and manage the things and support as the head of the military base. But if you both still feel that Zach must quit and start a civilian life, I will not have much say in your decisions." 

It was true. Zach was indeed the most capable and experienced person for this position. Moreover, Zach was very honest and not greedy nor manipulative like the few others in his cadre. Zach had a temperament that was very much like the Field Marshal himself... he, too, would stand by what was right and just.

Though Jeru could also be a good candidate but currently he was too focused with his family business and the Old Madam Liu had already expressed her plans for Jeru and wanted the Field Marshal to never request his grandson to come back in the Military.

Keira's mother who heard all these discussions said, "Darling, isn't Zach still a bit too young to become the Field Marshal? I am afraid, promoting him may cause rumors because of your relations.h.i.+p with him."

Keira sighed and replied, "Mom, Dad, let's discuss it some other time. Honestly, I wish that my husband would focus on me and our family firstAnd if need be the Military can always ask him to go back anytime and Zach and I can then talk about it and decide what he would do. But to be honest dad, I will always be reluctant to let him return to the Military if he would still be needed to go on dangerous missions where his life will always be put in line." 

Field Marshal Chan chuckled and said, "Alright, don't be anxious dear, there's still a few more years before I retire. This father of yours is still capable so I will also try to train more soldiers to be the next General Zach, while I wait for my grandchild."

Keira chuckled, 'I just got married and they are already asking me for a grandchild! Though I also want to have kids with Zach and hopefully we will have one soon, since Zach is often in his hyperactive mode whenever he is with me.'

Keira started thinking about Zach and their time together since yesterday; their first time, her moaning from his moves, and his drool-worthy body… Her cheeks flushed when she recalled how gently yet pa.s.sionately he took her at the dining table just a while ago.

"What's wrong with your face?" asked her mom when she noticed Keira's blus.h.i.+ng face. "Let me check if you're burning up?" said her mom as she touched her forehead and cheeks before Keira could react and stop her.

Then her mom grinned meaningfully as she commented, "Your temperature is perfectly fine. I guess your face is flushed due to something else, huh!"

"Mom stop.." Keira hissed as she walked away from her who was obviously having fun teasing her. But Mrs. Chan followed Keira around and kept poking and teasing her, enjoying how her only daughter was feeling timid and flus.h.i.+ng more and more by the teasing.

Mrs. Chan stopped chasing Keira as she couldn't help but think how her daughter was fully a woman now who would be responsible for her own family and its well being. These thoughts overwhelmed her and she suddenly burst into tears of happiness. She was really happy for her daughter that she had succeeded in conquering the heart of the man of her dreams.

Keira paused seeing her mom standing and sobbing. She looked at her dad, who was talking to the butler, with questioning eyes but the latter answered her with only a shrug.

Keira bit her lip as she walked to her mother and hugged her tightly. "Mom, stop crying. Do you want my in-laws to notice your eyes that would be as big as a frog's when they arrive?" Keira murmured as tears fell from her eyes too.

"Hmmp! You brat! I will proudly tell them that these tears are tears of joy, because I'm a happy mother whose daughter is in good hands now…" said Mrs. Chan with pouted lips that made Keira laugh and kiss her.
