The General Who Hates Me Chapter 316 - Mastermind

"Are you sure about this?" Keira asked Zach for the first time as their helper brought their luggage to the car. 

Today, they would move to live at Liu's ancestral mansion for six months as per the Liu's tradition...

"Yes… I'm very sure… Why? Are you hesitating?" Zach asked with a grin.

Keira shook her head as she commented, "No, I'm not. You know I'll follow you wherever you go… I'm just making sure that you really want to do this, and not just because you feel sorry for Old Madam Liu…"

Then she chided herself, "Grandma. Feel sorry for your grandma. Geez, I should practice calling her 'Grandma' more often."

Zach laughed and held her hand as they walked toward the car.

"You aren't convinced that I want this too?" Zach asked.

Keira pouted her lips… 

Zach had explained to her why he had agreed to use his real surname. It was because he felt it was unfair to his biological father, Charles Liu.

Zach heard a lot of good things from his mother about his biological father. 

His father, Jonathan Lim, was a great father to him, and his father had gotten the chance to spend time with him all throughout his childhood, from the moment he was born. While his biological father, Charles Liu, did not get that chance at all. So he wanted to use his biological father's surname to honor him. He knew his father would understand.

"Hmm… And soon, you will enter Liu's Group… I heard from Lyra that they have plenty of beautiful female employees there… and s.e.xy too… Geez, the old madam, Uhm, I mean Grandma knows how to pick her employees well… Only those with an attractive appearance. Such a discriminative Hitl…. Uhm, I mean, Grandma. Uhm, I mean, she chose well..." Keira grumbled with pouty lips when they were already inside the car. She knew this from Lyra, and also because she had studied Old Madam Liu's profile well back then...

It was a bit hard for her to control her words when it comes to Old Madam Liu, but she knew she should learn to respect her because she was her husband's grandmother.

Zach turned to face Keira. He chuckled as he looked at her in disbelief and said, "Do I sense a hint of jealousy there? I can't believe this...Since when do you lack confidence, Keira Chan?"

Keira frowned...

"It's because my belly is growing fast, and soon the word 's.e.xy' won't be suitable to describe me anymore."

Zach shook his head and grinned as he said, "But you are the s.e.xiest woman in my eyes… The only one for me..."

"You're saying that now, but once I become bigger…"

Zach immediately sealed Keira's lips with his to stop her from uttering any more words. Then he whispered with a tease, "But I'm planning to make you bigger every other year…"

Keira's eyes widened in horror while Zach chuckled and kissed her nose. He was already used with Keira's mood swings every now and then. The Doctor said it was normal and should be expected. Some pregnant women only experience it during their first trimester, while others experience it throughout their pregnancy.

Old Madam Liu greeted Zach and Keira with her arms wide open as soon as they arrived at Liu's Ancestral Mansion. Thea, who witnessed it, could not help but get a bit envious.

'Look at her smile...' She thought with pouty lips, as she observed Old Madam Liu's broad smile directed at Keira.

'She never greeted me like that...' Thea sighed. Although she knew how her grandmother-in-law is, still, she felt a bit sad about how she was unfairly treated as Jeru's wife.

'Stop that, Thea! Just try your best to please her and to win her heart!' she scolded herself.

Old Madam Liu displayed great affections, especially for Zach, as she led him into the room that she had personally prepared. Keira and Thea were walking behind them.

Keira smiled and whispered, "If you need any help with her, just tell me, okay?" Thea nodded and grinned. At least, she now had an ally in case Old Madam Liu would bully her. But she doubted it would ever happen again, knowing how much her precious grandmother-in-law was relying on her when it comes to winning Zach over.

When they were about to enter the room they had prepared for Zach and Keira, Old Madam Liu suddenly paused and clutched onto her chest. Thea's jaw dropped. It was her idea! She did not expect her grandmother-in-law would listen to her and use her ideas because the old madam had never responded positively to her ideas.

Zach automatically grabbed his grandmother's arm to a.s.sist her and asked, "Are you alright?"

Old Madam Liu smiled, full of love, and nodded as she whispered, "Yes, my dear grandson... Just a minor pain… Grandson, can I hear you call me Grandma more often?" The old madam really loved to call him by that name, 'Grandson', and she would use it every chance she got.

Zach nodded and asked, "Tell me, where is your room, and I'll help you go there."

Zach looked at Keira, who nodded in understanding while Thea spoke, "I'll accompany Keira."

Thea was really having a hard time controlling her giggles because of Old Madam Liu's perfect acting. She really saluted her, and she bet Old Madam Liu would have won the Best Actress Award if she had become an actress.

"She sincerely wants to get close to Zach, right? It's just that I can't believe that she can be so cringy like that. You know how she was like, right?" Keira asked as they walked inside the room.

"Yeah… She's desperate. That's the exact word… Desperate..." Thea said, chuckling, as she toured Keira inside the room.

"She had this room, and the adjacent room merged and renovated to make it bigger, so it fits all the amenities. I chose the color and decor. I hope you like it." Thea explained, smiling. Being extra nice to the couple was the least she could do as Old Madam Liu's accomplice in her little lies. 

She bit her lower lip at the sudden thought that the plan had actually come from her. So, technically, she was the mastermind?

"Thanks, Thea. It's pretty, and I love it," Keira answered with a smile as she walked past Thea to look around the room.

Thea looked at Keira's back apologetically… She would eventually tell them the truth. Maybe when their six-months period to stay at Liu's Ancestral Mansion was over. But right now, she would let her grandmother-in-law enjoy every moment she could spend with Zach. Because she could feel and see how the old lady genuinely longed for her grandson, Zach.
