Chapter 1607: Black Sphere

The fake demonic emperors and Wu Yu and Wu Jun all disappeared silently into the mists, as if they had never appeared.

In a trice, only Wu Yu, Wu Jun, and the three real demonic emperors were left looking at each other.

Wu Yu had not expected them to leave so suddenly as well. Two against three demonic emperors was not good odds.

"The bronze pendant should be in one of these three's possession." Wu Jun guessed.

Wu Yu nodded. "I was thinking the same thing. But there are three of them, and we can't win the fight."

However, whether to fight or not was not just Wu Yu's decision.

With the imposters disappearing, the three real demonic emperors quickly formed a secret pact, and then flew out to surround the pair!

"Leave the bronze pendant behind." Dignified Lava Beast growled in a low and threatening voice. Lava began to flow from him, encircling Wu Yu.

Perpetual Demonic Emperor and Celestial Demonic Emperor did likewise, surrounding him and using their heavenly rule powers to lock him in!

Wu Yu could not possibly take them head on.

Frowning, he cast his gaze about, trying to identify who held the bronze pendant. However, he could not tell.

And they were pressing to get his bronze pendant now.

"Let's retreat first."

In that split second where the heavenly rule powers rushed inwards, Wu Yu used Lawful Embodiment of Heaven and Earth to shrink himself, and fled with Wu Jun out of the killing zone.

In the fog, Wu Yu simply had to be in his smallest form, and he would be impossible to find.

Besides, Wu Yu saw no need to move separately. He could just follow behind them and see what they planned to do.

As Wu Yu slipped away, the attacks of all three connected with nothing but mist.

"Gave us the slip again." Dignified Lava Beast gnashed his teeth in frustration.

"Like a housefly, that one. Bang down and nothing's there. A real ghost." Celestial Demonic Emperor spit out. He too was extremely irritated that a mere immortal could get away time and again. It was infuriating.

But until now, they had yet to find a way to hold Wu Yu. The only weakness that he had shown so far was Wu Jun.

"As long as we can get a hold of the mystical dragon, we can threaten him." Dignified Lava Beast said. This was their only way of getting the bronze pendant to date.

"That's daydreaming, it is." Perpetual World Tree said icily. "They are back together now, and won't split up. If we couldn't even get them last time, it will be even more difficult this time. Let's just continue searching the mists. I don't believe that we can't even get into one grave!"

"Perpetual Demonic Emperor, you look after the bronze pendant first. We will search and also look for Olden Golden Mountain and Unending Crepuscular Sea." Celestial Demonic Emperor said steely.

Wu Yu was eavesdropping on all of this.

He now knew that the bronze pendant was with Perpetual World Tree for now. And from their tone, it seemed like they would only be able to remove the seal on the bronze pendant when all five demonic emperors were together.

This was to safeguard against anyone making an individual break for an eternal demon emperor grave.

Although they might present a united from before Wu Yu, but in truth they had no one else's interests but their own. They had to create checks to ensure their own stake in things.

After the exchange was done, Dignified Demonic Emperor, Perpetual Demonic Emperor, and Celestial Demonic Emperor continued to search the mists.

Their small talk along the way told Wu Yu about their movements up till now. They had searched for the last 10 years, sometimes together, and sometimes apart. Most of the time, they had come up with nothing, but they had encountered eternal demon emperor graves three or four times.

However, just like with the Grave of Lifeless Eternal Demon Emperor previously, they were all protected by the finest of epochal immortal designs. They were thoroughly repelled, and one bronze pendant was unable to do anything to help.

Next, they would find the other two demonic emperors and quickly join forces. At the same time, they would be searching for Wu Yu. Best if they could find Wu Jun alone.

However, they were oblivious to the fact that Wu Yu was currently tailing them. Wu Jun was now in the Floating Dreams PaG.o.da, continuing to rest. Since Wu Yu was simply following them, there was nothing for Wu Jun to do.

Wu Yu wanted to see if there was any chance for him to get the bronze pendant.

If he could just get it back, he would hold all the cards in Eternal Emperor Tomb.

He continued in his Lawful Embodiment of Heaven and Earth form, shrunk to his minimum size. He was nigh invisible in the thick fog. If not for the fact that the three would occasionally make noise, Wu Yu himself would be hard-pressed to follow their tail.

They continued to search the mists for anything at all.

Another few years pa.s.sed, and the three had found nothing. Along the way, they had only found mist and more mist. Of the eternal demon emperor graves, Olden Demonic Emperor, or Unending Demonic Emperor, they were nowhere to be seen.

The three demonic emperors were still quite calm. After all, a few years was but a blink of an eye to them.

It was Wu Yu instead who was beginning to waver. He was starting to doubt that following them was the wise choice. Perhaps he was missing other opportunities.

"But if I leave now, it will not be easy to find them again. The bronze pendant is still with them as well. best wait and see."

Wu Yu curbed his restlessness and stayed the course. Finally, something special appeared before them after another three years!

This was a mysterious black sphere, not like the epochal immortal designs that had protected the eternal demon emperor graves.

This mysterious black sphere was much bigger than the graves, and they could not make out its sides in the misty gloom.

It had a strange golden s.h.i.+ne to it that marked it no ordinary object. It even exuded a faint threatening aura.

The three demonic emperors were curious, and gradually inched closer to it. Wu Yu too also followed suit, and very quickly sensed a faint danger.

The metallic surface of the black sphere was carved with many ancient and arcane patterns, as though forming many great void immortal designs of the finest quality.

The three demonic emperors and Wu Yu inched ever closer.

Because this black sphere was not protected by an epochal immortal design, they sensed that it might be even more dangerous than the eternal demon emperor graves, inherently.

The three demonic emperors made no reckless move. They did not attack it, but first examined it thoroughly.

They were all completely engrossed in studying the black sphere, and had completely let their guard down against Wu Yu spying on them.

They constantly discussed their thoughts.

"Could this be the key to the entire Eternal Emperor Tomb? If we break this, will the mists disappear, and reveal all of the eternal demon emperor graves to us?" Dignified Lava Beast said eagerly.

"We can't even get into a single eternal demon emperor grave. Let alone this strange black sphere...?" Celestial Meteor snapped at them. He did not hold out high hopes regarding this black sphere. After all, he too knew that with great opportunity came great risk. And one had to be alive in order to enjoy riches.

Therefore, he was not that absorbed in the black sphere, instead turning his senses outwards against danger.

The black sphere floated silently in the mist, and there seemed to be no other danger appearing. Only the golden patterns on the surface of the sphere gleaming, in a somewhat wicked manner.

After a while, Perpetual World Tree's voice rang out, tinged with caution and excitement: "Come over quick. There's an entrance here!"

The three demonic emperors quickly headed over.

Wu Yu was following behind as well, and he too spotted an entrance to the black sphere. It was circular, like a mouth, and pitch black inside.

There were a few b.l.o.o.d.y words scrawled across the entrance: "Graveguarding Palace, No Living Beings Allowed"!

The raw scarlet scrawlings had a sinister air to them, that made one's flesh crawl.

Even the three demonic emperors had a bout of cold feet. They stood before the black sphere, hesitating. This place was scary, unnervingly scary. Who knew what they would meet within? They might even die within.

"Nothing ventured, nothing gained, eh?" Dignified Lava Beast led the way, only after a moment's thought. To him, living a little longer meant nothing if he could not reach eternal immortal emperor level.

And having come all the way here, he might well be facing the key to the entire Eternal Emperor Tomb. How could he back away?
