"Lu Lijun, if you keep doing this for me, people will think I am bullying the kid," Jiang Yuyan complained.

Her words didn't affect Lu Lijun and he was calm. "I don't care about people and you should not care, too."

Giving out a deep sigh she said, "Hmm! I can't beat you in arguments."

"Happens when you have a small birdie brain." He teased her again carrying the same cold expressions.

These words angered her. "Every time I let it slide considering you are a kid. When you grow up, I won't show any mercy towards you, Lu Lijun."

It made Lu Lijun smile as if Jiang Yuyan's words carried no weight. "We will see. I am sure, at that time too, I would be the one to have the upper hand because it's difficult to grow your brain once you are an adult." 2

She frowned. "Keep on dreaming as I won't take anything lightly. I will be the coldest person to you. Mark my words." 4

"Don't worry, I know how to handle you, Yuyan."

Jiang Yuyan didn't argue much as there was no use by arguing with the kid and both traveled back home quietly.

The next day, when it was time to leave for school, Lu Lijun followed the same routine from taking Jiang Yuyan to the university. This time when Lu Lijun asked her to lean forward, she gave him a look.

"Fine!" Saying, he was about to turn, Jiang Yuyan kissed him on the cheek but there was no change of expression on his face as if nothing happened.

"Aren't you surprised with it?" Jiang Yuyan asked.

"What's there to be surprised about?" he asked and left without giving her a chance to say a word.

"This iceberg, hard to pull out a prank on him. I wonder if he has an EQ problem. I pity the woman he will date." Jiang Yuyan murmured to herself. 2

The week pa.s.sed by and both of them did the same thing the whole week. Attending the school, doing their studies, and when they were free, they spent time watching movies or playing video games.

Lu Lijun did his best to not let Jiang Yuyan miss his brother too much. Every Night she fell asleep in Lu Lijun's bedroom and every night he went to Lu Feng's room to sleep there without a complaint.

Jiang Yuyan didn't bother with it too and enjoyed getting pampered by the little iceberg. Both of them spent a week harmoniously.

Jiang Yuyan still continued missing Lu Qiang as talking on just calls was not enough and it was not enough to make up for the distance between them. The weekend pa.s.sed by and Lu Qiang finally arrived on the weekday when Jiang Yuyan and Lu Lijun were in school.

Jiang Yuyan knew Lu Qiang was coming back that day and she wanted to be home, but there were important cla.s.ses that day and Lu Qiang asked her to not miss them.

"Today you are here but it seems like your thoughts are wandering somewhere," Nix.x.xie questioned in a low voice, seeing Jiang Yuyan absent-minded when the cla.s.s was going on.

"He is back and I couldn't see him as I am here. There is too much work, so he went back to the office and I will get to see him in the evening only," Jiang Yuyan whispered back, sadness covering her face.

"It's okay. You have waited for more than a week so just a few more hours to go." Nix.x.xie comforted her.

"Hmm!"

"Now you can plan what you can do when both of you would be together tonight." Nix.x.xie teased her and Jiang Yuyan smiled. "I was thinking the same." 1

Just then the student sitting in front of them turned to look at them and signaled to keep quiet.

When the cla.s.ses were over and Jiang Yuyan was ready to go home, she was excited to see Lu Qiang, but when the car arrived, there was only Lu Lijun inside who came to get her.

Not seeing Lu Qiang, the smile on her face disappeared and she sat inside the car quietly. 2

"Elder brother has too much work to do so he couldn't come," Lu Lijun said as he could see it upset her to not see Lu Qiang.

"Hmm!"

Jiang Yuyan checked her mobile as she thought Lu Qiang must have contacted her. In the happiness of seeing Lu Qiang, she forgot to check her mobile, which was on silent mode as she was busy attending the cla.s.ses. She saw there was a missed call from Lu Qiang and also a message in which he mentioned that he won't be able to come to get her and will be back home before dinner.

She comforted herself thinking she would get to see him at the dinner so it was fine and they will get time at night.

When she was in the garden, desperately waiting for Lu Qiang to return before the dinner, just then she got the message from him again, apologizing to her that he won't be able to come home that night. It made her sad and she continued sitting in the garden. 2

"Why are you sitting here alone?"

The voice grabbed her attention. It was her mother-in-law, Ning Jiahui. Since Lu Qiang left for the work, she was observing Jiang Yuyan and she knew her daughter-in-law was missing him. She could understand that she had also faced such moments whenever Lu Jinhai had to work too much and stay away from home.

"I just wanted to get fresh air," Jiang Yuyan replied.

Sitting beside Jiang Yuyan on the same bench, Ning Jiahui asked, "Or you are just missing my son?"

"Hmm!" Jiang Yuyan couldn't deny it.

"It seems like he is too busy with work," Ning Jiahui commented again.

"Hmm!" Jiang Yuyan nodded.

"Even if the person is busy with too much work, one needs to eat and get some time for it. Don't you think so?" asked Ning Jiahui as there was a hidden meaning behind her words.
