Chapter 1815 – The Scholar of White Jade Capital

His mind spun quickly. The catastrophe that befell the Ancient Clan back then must have been something else. However, he could not remember what happened exactly…or his memories had been wiped out by someone else!

Taking in a deep breath, Qin Yu opened his eyes. The burning incense was being isolated from him and although he could still sense the burning sensation, it was under control.

At this moment, he was wrapped up by the Star Cutting Gra.s.s that separated the burning from him!

As though it sensed that Qin Yu had recognized it, the Star Cutting Gra.s.s seemed to be joyful. Its leaves swayed cheerfully like a dog wagging its tail. The scary burns that the burning incense power had formed could not cause any harm to it.

Qin Yu smiled and he greeted the Star Cutting Gra.s.s. As he looked at the burning incense in front of him, his eyes grew pa.s.sionate. The East Sea Nation Emperor was famous but his powers were sub par. He was far worse than Emperor Qin but he could actually control the burning of incense power. There must be a trick to this, and if he could learn this trick…his eyes brightened!

The little blue lamp’s voice rang in his head, “Although I do not want to pour cold water on you, let me remind you not to be too hopeful. If Incense Great Dao is ignited so easily, even if the Eternal Sea is the heavens, do you think the Barbarian Clan would have survived till this day?”

Qin Yu sighed and a helpless look crossed his eyes, “I knew that things would not go too smoothly but the burning incense is right in front of me. I suffered so much and you mustered so much force too. Are we going to leave empty-handed today?”

The little blue lamp said, “Of course there will be.” His voice deepened and he continued, “The incense power in front of you is truly incense. Furthermore, it has been burned. However, the way that it has been burned is different from yours.

“The East Sea Nation Emperor’s burning incense is pure burning and it did not fuse with his Great Dao. Therefore, this is just a way of him using the incense power. Although it can create a terrifying Incense Flame, strictly speaking, this is a terrible waste of incense. Even if you steal this Incense Flame, it will not help your Great Dao.”

Qin Yu grew impatient, “Get to the point. Even if I can withstand the pain, you should think twice for the Star Cutting Gra.s.s.”

The little blue lamp scoffed, “Stealing Incense Flame would allow you to temporarily raise incense explosive power. As for the Star Cutting Gra.s.s, you don’t have to worry about it. Its defensive power is more than enough to shut the Incense Flame out!”

The power to raise incense power!

Qin Yu’s eyes brightened, “Can it kill Emperor Qin?”

The little blue lamp scoffed without answering. Yet, he already gave an answer to Qin Yu – it would be hard.

“It is not just a little hard, it is very hard!” The little blue lamp’s voice deepened, “Killing Emperor Qin is definitely much more difficult than you are imagining. If you don’t pay more attention to this, you will certainly be the one to die in the end.”

Qin Yu frowned, “You can’t kill him either.”

“No.” The little blue lamp fell silent, “Otherwise, I would have taken action when we were leaving the Desolate Area.”

“Why?”

“I don’t know.” The little blue lamp’s answer was direct and to the point, “But I have a feeling that you are the only one who can kill Emperor Qin. No one will be able to interfere or something terrifying will happen.” Something that the little blue lamp called ‘terrifying’ meant that it was very serious. There was no further need for him to emphasize that.

Qin Yu’s expression darkened. Although he knew that Emperor Qin had a deep background…it seemed that Qin Yu had underestimated him again. There were a lot of secrets hidden on Emperor Qin; it was much bigger than anyone could imagine!

“Don’t think about it. I have already captured the Incense Flame. Let’s settle these men in front of us.” The little blue lamp’s voice started to tune down.

Qin Yu sucked in a deep breath and slowly let it out. His eyes became calm again. If he continued to worry and be fearful about his future, he would be scared to death. He would take slow steps forward. Eventually, he would find his way to climb the mountain!

Raising his hand, he punched out. There was a loud ‘bam’ as the burning nation’s mark was thrown backwards. The Incense Flame around it shook slightly and then it slowly died down. It was like a large stone that had dropped into the ocean.

There was silence in the air!

The East Sea Nation Emperor had been fully confident that Qin Yu’s soul would be burnt by the Incense Flame and he would die a pathetic and tortured death. Now, he was stunned and he stared blankly as the nation’s mark fell into the sea. Then, he stared at Qin Yu who was unharmed. He was at a loss and when he regained his senses, he was shocked.

“Run!”

Without hesitation, the East Sea Nation Emperor turned.

In fact, there was no need for his reminder. The moment War G.o.d Yama and Fantasy Sword G.o.d saw the nation’s mark get destroyed, they started to retreat. s.p.a.ce shook violently and layers upon layers of ripples were formed. The three True Kings fled in different directions. Now was the time to take a gamble. Even if Qin Yu stopped them, he would not be able to stop all three True Kings from fleeing.

This was the case. From the start, Qin Yu had his target. The Cosmic Seacross Bell chimed and the purple dragon on its surface started to grow a pair of golden wings on its back. There were flames burning from its wings. This was the Incense Flame! While there was no way to know what transformation it underwent, the powers of the bell surged.

The East Sea Nation Emperor, who had turned to flee, felt his body stiffen. In the next moment, Qin Yu teleported in front of him. Along the imperial robe East Sea Nation Emperor wore was dragon embroidery. It roared fiercely and a ma.s.sive dragon swooped out of it. Its physical body was colossal and it carried an intimidating aura. However, when it met Qin Yu’s gaze, there was suddenly fear in its large eyes. With a cry, the ma.s.sive dragon’s body broke apart and it disappeared.

There was a flicker of astonishment in Qin Yu’s eyes because he knew that he had not caused this. The attack came from the purple dragon with golden wings on the surface of the Cosmic Seacross Bell. When it lifted its head to look at its target, it had killed the dragon by sucking its soul out.

“Don’t kill me or White Jade Capital will not let you off!” The East Sea Nation Emperor screamed.

In the next moment, his cries were cut short. Qin Yu grabbed his neck, directly capturing his Great Dao as well. His five fingers clenched together tightly, snapping the East Sea Nation Emperor’s neck and directly crus.h.i.+ng his Great Dao.

The wide eyes of the East Sea Nation Emperor started to turn gloomy. As a ruler who ruled over a nation and who was acknowledged by White Jade Capital, he had never expected that he would be killed by someone in this way. However, the East Sea Nation Emperor would have never imagined that the reason why he was killed so directly was because of his last words.

White Jade Capital would not let Qin Yu off!

Qin Yu was seeking out White Jade Capital, and it was best if they automatically sought him out. Otherwise, Qin Yu would have to go through the trouble of wasting time to find White Jade Capital. This was also the reason why he brought up this challenge in the first place!

As War G.o.d Yama and Fantasy Sword G.o.d were fleeing, they witnessed the East Sea Nation Emperor’s death. His limp body hung in front of Qin Yu and Qin Yu raised it up. The emperor who ruled over large lands and controlled the nation had been killed so directly!

They were filled with fear and terror but also thankful that they managed to escape. At the same time as the two True Kings escaped, the news of the death of the East Sea Nation Emperor spread like wildfire through the world.

This was the outcome that Qin Yu wanted.

Shoosh –

With the East Sea Nation Emperor’s body in hand, Qin Yu stepped forward and vanished. Stealing another person’s Great Dao was something that he could not do out in the open.

On this day, the East Sea Nation was flooded with grief and fear. The crown prince stepped up to the royal seat, but before he could be crowned, he sent White Jade Capital an urgent message for help. The entire imperial palace was filled with despair and fear. No one could be certain if Sea King Island would come again to destroy them. If White Jade Capital did not step in quickly, a calamity would definitely befall them.

One day.

Two days.

Three days.

Nothing happened.

The panicked East Sea Nation capital slowly started to feel more settled. A rumor spread around that said the East Sea Nation Emperor burned incense power before he died and heavily injured the new Sea King. Now, he was temporarily unable to attack the East Sea Nation. As long as he did not attack them immediately, his death would be certain.

Most people felt more at ease!

There were a few hundred big and small nations in this world, but every time a new emperor was crowned, they would have to be crowned by White Jade Capital. In other words, these emperors all belonged to White Jade Capital. Killing an emperor was a challenge to White Jade Capital’s authority. Regardless of who did this, history had shown that the perpetrator would eventually meet with death no matter how strong he was.

On this day, a scholar arrived at the East Sea Nation’s capital. The reason why he was called a scholar was because he carried a book on hand. It had been flipped through many times and there were a lot of dog ears on the book. However, the book itself was clean and there wasn’t a speck of dirt on it. It seemed as though this was how the book originally was.

The scholar read the book attentively as he walked and he did not bother looking around him. With every step he took, he would aptly avoid the crowd of people without b.u.mping into anyone. The scholar smoothly pa.s.sed through the crowd, or perhaps it was…

Everyone had voluntarily backed away from him, giving him a clear path forward.

He reached the Imperial Palace!

The head guard on duty was very serious and he noticed the scholar from afar. He was about to shout when he suddenly realized that he was being shut down by an invisible force and he could not make a sound.

He started to break out in cold sweat, and very soon, his whole body was drenched. Finally, when the scholar got close to the palace gates, the head guard struggled to say, “Stop…” It felt like this word had sucked up all his will and energy and there was even blood dripping from his nose. His face was utterly pale from the exhaustion.

The scholar was shocked and he stored his book and waved his sleeve. A warm force entered the person’s body and instantly healed him. With an apologetic look on his face, he said, “I am sorry, I was too engrossed in my book and I harmed you all unknowingly.”

The head guard was gasping for air and he stared at the scholar with deep respect, “Your honor’s cultivation is extraordinary and us lowly servants are not worthy. However, this is the Imperial Palace of the East Sea Nation and you may not enter as you please.”

The scholar smiled, “I know, but it your emperor who invited me here today.” He pondered for a while, “I have a token with me. Bring this to your emperor and he will know immediately.”

He threw an ordinary-looking wooden token forward. Then, he picked up his book again and started to read it. Right then, he froze and he hesitated for a while before he closed his book. There was some reluctance on his face as he lowered his book and tied it to his waist. Then, he looked towards the sky.

His eyes were gentle and he seemed all-knowing. He looked to the sky in a daze, but people felt warmth at his sight.

At this moment, it seemed like the scholar had fused with the world around him.

The guards outside the palace were filled with respect and admiration for this scholar and they lowered their heads, not daring to stare at him.

They felt as though they were committing a crime by starting at him directly, as though they had offended a saint.

Hurried footsteps sounded, and when the guards regained their senses, they were shocked to see the newly-crowned emperor rus.h.i.+ng over. Behind him were elite officials of the empire. Everyone wore anxious looks.

“Back off, everyone back off!” The new emperor snapped. When he saw the young man outside the palace gates, his voice deepened and he knelt and bowed, “The thirty-seventh emperor of the East Sea Nation greets your honor!”

Behind him, the elite officials dropped to the ground.

The guards were stunned and their knees grew weak as they dropped to the ground too. They were guards in charge of the Imperial Palace and they naturally knew that the East Sea Nation was anxiously waiting for help from White Jade Capital – it was obvious what the ident.i.ty of this man was!

The scholar chuckled and waved his hand, “Rise.” After some thought, he retrieved a book from his waist, “This is what my grandmaster asked me to pa.s.s to the new emperor of the East Sea Nation. It is the coronation letter.”

The ministers of the East Sea Nation jumped and they looked at the scholar with much more respect. Although every emperor had to be crowned by White Jade Capital, not everyone there was qualified to conduct this crowning. Only the highly ranked elite members in White Jade Capital were qualified.

“Thank you, your honor emissary.” The new emperor beamed joyfully as he took the coronation letter. His kings.h.i.+p was only truly acknowledged then. “Your honor emissary must have had a long journey; please rest in the Imperial Palace.”

An awkward look flashed across the scholar’s face, “Not at all, I was too engrossed in reading during my journey and wasted some time. Otherwise, I would have arrived two days ago.”

A wry smile crossed the officials’ faces. While the scholar was engrossed in reading, they were suffering from the anxiety and they almost wet their pants. However, they kept their emotions inside and were careful not to let their pain show.

“No worries at all.” The new emperor smiled, “With your arrival here, the East Sea Nation has nothing more to worry about!”

The scholar shook his head, “My grandmaster said that the new Sea King’s aura is mysterious and he is unable to look into his roots. He is probably a foreigner.” He scanned the crowd, “Don’t worry. Even if I am not a match for him, White Jade Capital will protect the East Sea Nation.”

With this, he turned to leave, “I have sent the coronation letter. Now, I will head into the Eternal Sea. You may wait for the outcome.”

As he said this, he walked forward. When he took his final step, he disappeared as though he was a shadow that never existed.

In the next moment, the scholar appeared above the skies of Sea King Island in the Eternal Sea. He lowered his head and looked at the ma.s.sive island. His eyes flashed and there was an exasperated look on his face, “I really can’t see through him. It seems like Grandmaster was right.”

His eyes were bright. Although he was born in White Jade Capital and he had not encountered many foreigners, this man may be able to help him break through his bottleneck for him to enter the same realm as his grandmaster.

The s.p.a.ce in front of him s.h.i.+fted and Qin Yu walked forward. He stared at the scholar and asked, “White Jade Capital?”

The scholar nodded in confirmation, “Yes.” He pondered for a while before asking, “Foreigner?”

Qin Yu thought about it for a while and nodded.

“Very good, let’s fight!”

The scholar smiled and threw a punch.
