Shen Yi raised a brow. The man across him seemed to forgot his rudeness and arrogance as he realized the gravity of his actions against Lu Xinyi.

Chang Yifeng turned his attention to Lu Xinyi who had been silent throughout their conversation.

“It was my fault that Miss Lu was hurt.” His defeat and how his family lost their company to Shen Yi’s hands were the biggest wake-up call he received in his entire life.

“I wouldn’t dare,” the other man admitted truthfully. “Of course, people would treat her differently if we all know about it.”

The expression on Lu Xinyi’s face suddenly changed. This was what she was trying to avoid all this time!

Shen Yi took a side glance at his wife and saw the conflicting emotions in her eyes.

‘So it is like this…’ he thought.

“People who know her standing treated her with respect not because she’s my wife, but she earned it herself.” Shen Yi continued to cut his steak before lifting his head up to stare at Chang Yifeng.

“But that doesn’t make sense. If the public knows about your real relations.h.i.+p, how would she expect the people to treat her fairly?” The deep frown on his face made Chang Yifeng’s face a little colder.

“If that’s the case… then tell me why you are here,” Lu Xinyi retorted, “Are you here to apologize to me, or you are just trying to save yourself from my husband’s wrath?”

“Even if you beg on your knees today, you cannot save your company.” Shen Yi had successfully crushed his remaining hopes on getting back his family business.

“President Shen!” Chang Yifeng exclaimed. Wasn’t there any chance to save his company?

Shen Yi gave him a pointed glare. Chang Yifeng understood at once what Shen Yi’s real intention was. He wanted him to see in a helpless state that he wouldn’t have enough face to show to others. The demon king was seeking revenge for his bride!

Hearing her questions, Chang Yifeng forgot the words he was about to say. All this woman had to do was to announce her marriage with Shen Yi, and no one would dare to bully her again. Yet, she chose to endure all the nasty words thrown in her way just to prove herself.

“Then why?” Lu Xinyi gave him a confused look. “Why won’t you announce it?”

“My husband is not a tool or a resource that I can take advantage of. I do not care what people think of me as long as Shen Yi believes me. People may not understand what’s between us, but I do not give a d.a.m.n.”

Chang Yifeng stared at him in shock and loss for words. In the end, he looked down with a defeated expression on his face. His fists clenched on his side as he waited for Shen Yi to say something, but the demon king continued to eat and pampered his wife as if he wasn’t there in their dining table.

Just as he was about to give up and leave, Shen Yi’s voice stopped him.

“About your family business. It’s pointless if I give it back to you. Even if I didn’t purchase the majority stocks of your company, it’s deemed to fall down one of these days.”

Chang Yifeng gaped at him. What the h.e.l.l was he talking about?!

“You didn’t know?” Shen Yi sipped his tea and stared at the man across him, “Top Tier Entertainment was losing investors as your newest compet.i.tor managed to convince them to drop your next proposals and invest to their game instead. It indeed looks promising. Whether I buy it or not, you will lose your position.”

“Who?” Lu Xinyi picked some pickled radish and ate it.

“Your cousin, Sun Feiyan.”

Chang Yifeng stared at them with bewilderment. Lu Xinyi was Sun Feiyan’s cousin? Sun Feiyan who recently ascended as Sun Corporation’s newest CEO and President? So the rumors about her were true? Lu Xinyi was really the third miss of the Sun family.

“Don’t you think it’s weird that she spread her influence outside the norms?” The woman stared down on her teacup while trying to figure out what her cousin’s plan was. The color on Chang Yifeng’s face faded as he thought about the consequences of his actions. If the demon king hadn’t made a move against him, would the Sun family come after him? Offending one family from the big 5 was already too much, but two…? He didn’t dare to think any further.
