When Shen Yi came back to the arena, he found his wife talking to his brother-in-law and Huang Shenghao. They were discussing Tian Lingyu and Huang Shenghao’s cooking battle which would happen this coming weekend.

With Lu Xinyi done with her own cooking battle, she only needed to take her midterm written exam, and she would be free from Silver Leaf’s obligations for two weeks.

“Yu Gege, what’s the theme for your cooking battle?” Shen Yi heard his wife asked Tian Lingyu.

“Seafood,” Tian Lingyu replied. His eyes then landed to Shen Yi which Lu Xinyi easily noticed.

Her eyes widened, and she beamed a smile on her husband once she’d seen him.

“Hey, handsome where did you go? I’ve been missing you.” Lu Xinyi stepped forward and wrapped her arms around Shen Yi.

“Just giving Wen Shufen a wakeup call from reality so she could stop bugging you,” Shen Yi held her head and placed a kiss on her forehead.

“My husband is the best.” She giggled while Tian Lingyu scowled when they started to get lovey-dovey in their presence.

“Can the two of you be conscious of where you are? There would be some collateral damage for the amount of dog food you’re throwing everywhere!”

“Now, now, you don’t have to be so grumpy, Lingyu. Why don’t we go home and you prepare for your cooking battle?” Tian Lingyu’s best friend pulled him away from the couple.

“I don’t need to prepare for it.” Tian Lingyu would have rolled his eyes if he could. “You should be the one to get ready.”

“Ha! Tian Lingyu, are you underestimating this prince?” Huang Shenghao put a hand on his hips and posed arrogantly in front of his best friend. “I’m the best chef in this academy. Even the girls go wild when they see me.”

“Shenghao, aren’t you afraid to get struck by lightning? Look, your nose is growing!” Tian Lingyu pointed out.

“What?” Huang Shenghao instinctively touched and covered his nose. He then turned to Lu Xinyi to seek help.

“Sister Lu! Look! Your brother is bullying me again!” He sobbed dramatically, “Did you also think I’m lying, too?”

Lu Xinyi was lost for words. She hadn’t thought that the current rank number one was easily bullied by her elder brother.

“Ahh… Yu Gege, Brother Huang, good luck with your cooking battles! I’ll try to watch it once I’m done with my exams! Please both of you, win your cooking battles! I still need to beat you and kick your a.s.ses from my deserved throne!”

Both Tian Lingyu and Huang Shenghao’s face turned serious.

“Xinxin, you only just got the 10th place. Don’t get so c.o.c.ky with me, Shorty,” Tian Lingyu said.

“Sister Lu, work harder. I’ll welcome you challenge anytime. I promise you I’ll be waiting at the top.” Huang Shenghao smirked back.

“Ohh, then that’s a promise? I will hold on your words then,” Lu Xinyi returned their smiles with a confident grin.

“We’ll be going now,” Shen Yi bid goodbye to his brother-in-law, “We have to drop Xue at the airport before going home.”

“Bye, bye! I’ll see the two of you in the weekend!” Lu Xinyi waved a hand towards the two and left the arena with her husband.

“Oh, I forgot. Tonight is Xue’s flight.” Lu Xinyi bit her tongue. “I forgot to prepare some dessert for him. Where is he?” she asked while they made their way to the parking lot.

Behind them was Qiao He, who was pretending not to hear and see the couple ahead of him.

“In the car, waiting for us. You can give him desserts once he’s back from abroad. Just think of it as a reward for him doing a good job for the company,” Shen Yi replied.

When they arrived at the parking lot, they saw Shen Xue was outside the car, talking to the other bodyguards Shen Yi left with him. Shen Xue, seeing his favorite sister-in-law in the world, ran towards Lu Xinyi hoping he could give her a bear hug.

However, before he could touch Lu Xinyi, his older brother appeared in front of her; and a huge hand covered his face, pus.h.i.+ng him away.

“Hey, no touching my wifey!” Shen Yi glared at his younger brother. Why was his wife attracting everyone’s attention lately?

“I just want to congratulate her, ah!” Shen Xue pushed away the obstructing hand away from his face. “You don’t have to cover my face!

“Big Sis, you were really cool! Congrats on winning your first cooking challenge. I want to give you a gift or take you out to celebrate, but I’ll be late for my flight,” Shen Xue sobbed pitifully.

“Don’t worry, Xue. Your brother already explained it to me. Good luck on your mission abroad!” She gave him a wink and a thumbs-up, “Finish it soon, and I’ll prepare a feast just for you.

“Of course! Just DM me on WeChat which dishes you want to eat once you’re back home. I’ll cook it all for you.”

“Deal!” Shen Xue easily agreed to his sister-in-law. Just imagining all those delicious dishes and desserts waiting for him once he comes home… ahh… he couldn’t help but drool. Remembering something, he threw a glare to his older brother’s direction.

“You can’t take away all the desserts Big Sis made for me!” he reminded Shen Yi.

Shen Yi shrugged, not caring if he wouldn’t be able to taste those dishes as long as he could have his fill with his wife and Shen Xue could fulfill and finish his task abroad. It was just he hadn’t thought that his wife’s cooking would be a good motivator for his lazy a.s.s brother.

“Are you arguing over a dessert again?” Lu Xinyi rubbed her chin. These two brothers always argue about everything especially the dishes or dessert she makes for Shen Yi. He once complained to her that Shen Xue raided his fridge at his office again, taking all the croissants she made just for him.

“Alright, enough of this. We should be on our way to the airport so Xinxin can get rest ASAP,” Shen Yi reminded his brother.

Shen Xue scowled back and went into the other car while the couple entered the back seat of their car, Qiao He sitting at the front seat beside the driver.

At the Headmistress’ office, the old man from the audience area stepped inside and greeted the woman sitting across him.

“I have been away for too long, and you already encountered problems? It must have been hard for you, Zhiling.” the old man said. It turned out that the old man giving commentaries at the audience area was Han Zhian, the Chairman of Silver Leaf Academy and its previous headmaster.

“Dad, you came back too soon. I thought you were going to unwind and visit some tourist spots now that you’re retired,” Han Zhiling replied.

The old man laughed and rubbed his hands together.

“Hoho, how can I sit idly somewhere knowing that our Yixin challenge Sibai’s daughter in a cooking battle? Of course, I want to go home and watch it with my own eyes! You didn’t even bother to give me a call that Lingyu and Shenghao will also have to defend their spots on cooking battle this weekend!”
