However, today, she stood in front of the Sun Corporation, with Jiao Jiao and Fu Rui standing behind her. Jiao Jiao took away her casual clothes and wore the customary bodyguard suit of the Shen family. An emblem of the Shen family was embroidered on her and Fu Rui’s collar.

“Miss Lu, we have to go inside. I know you don’t want to meet the Sun family and their investors, but you have to,” she reminded Lu Xinyi who was scowling at the thought of it.

“I know,” she replied.

Lu Xinyi was wearing her little black dress with a metallic belt on her waist, emphasizing her small waist. She then put a cream-colored coat over it. Her long hair was curled in loose waves while a pair of sungla.s.ses covered her eyes.

The three made their way to the front doors of the building. They only had half an hour before the stockholder’s meeting starts. Everyone in the lobby looked their way and started whispering to each other, wondering who Lu Xinyi was. They were also curious why the Shen family’s people were following her.

When they reached the elevator in the lobby, they were halted by a group of security.

“Miss, you cannot go up without a visitor pa.s.s. Please present your identification card first,” one of the guards told Lu Xinyi.

Jiao Jiao and Fu Rui stiffened behind their mistress. Lu Xinyi was already the third miss of the Sun family, and yet she had to take a visitor’s pa.s.s to enter? How ridiculous could this be?

“Ahh, but I am Lu Xinyi. I’ve long expected that Chairman Sun has announced that I’ll be joining Sun Corporation. Didn’t know that I’ll be treated this way,” Lu Xinyi said, filled with sarcasm in her voice.

She looked over her shoulder and talked to Jiao Jiao.

“Jiao Jiao, why don’t you give my Grandfather a call? I want an explanation this instance.”

When the guards heard what she said, their expressions changed in an instant. Even their tones had lowered, without the hint of arrogance that they had earlier.

“There’s no need to call Chairman, Miss Lu. We’ll lead you up to where the conference meeting is.”

“Miss Lu, Chairman Sun and your aunts are expecting your arrival. Please follow us.” Another guard added.

Lu Xinyi arched a brow and said nothing. They stepped inside the elevator, with the guards trailing behind them. Once they reached the 31st floor, the double doors opened; and the guards led them to the conference room at the end of the hallway.

As Lu Xinyi expected, the other investors and stockholders of the Sun Corporation were already there, waiting for the meeting to start. On her left side, she saw Sun Qiyan with her mother—glaring her way—while Sun Feiyan sat beside Chairman Sun, ignoring her presence.

Sun Mingai and her adopted son Zou Yin were also there, waiting for her arrival. As soon as Zuo Yin saw Lu Xinyi, his eyes glint with l.u.s.t. He was starting to feel that need to have her, but with Shen Yi and her bodyguards around, it would be hard for him to corner her.

“I hope I didn’t arrive late,” Lu Xinyi said as she settled next to Sun Feiyan’s seat.

“You are just in time, Xinxin,” Sun Mingai said affectionately, which disgusted Fu Rui and Jiao Jiao.

They stood a couple of steps behind their mistress, paying attention to everyone who’s in the room.

“Let’s get started. I don’t think we’re missing anyone,” Chairman Sun gestured his a.s.sistant to pa.s.s the recent statistics of the sales.

“These are the sales performance of each subsidiary that Sun Corporation has. There’s a significant loss as we’d closed some companies that were hard to maintain. We’ve already liquidated and sold their a.s.sets. From our research, the trend not only affected Sun Corporation but also other companies in the industry,” Sun Feiyan explained.

“What’s happening with Starlight Collections? How come they lost thousands of sales in just three months?” One of the shareholders asked as he flipped the pages, comparing the monthly graphs.

The other shareholders looked at the information in their hands and also noticed the drastic drop in sales for Starlight Collections. Starlight Collections used to profit a lot, but for the past three months, there was no sign of going up.

“How could this happen in a short time?”

“Isn’t this the same time when Flair Apparel re-launched their Autumn Collections? They surely got a boost in sales when they took w.a.n.g Zhuyi. Maybe we should hire a fas.h.i.+on influencer like her?”

At the mention of Flair Apparel, some glanced Lu Xinyi’s way. The fact that she was wearing one of the best dresses created by Xia Yuhan made her their target.

“Is there a problem? I hope there isn’t. As you know the Sun family and Starlight Collection have chosen to sponsor Meng Jiao when I start attending Silver Leaf Academy. Please don’t take it too hard, but I’ll rather stay neutral between Starlight Collections and Flair Apparel until my contract with the latter ends.”
