It came down to the last opponent. Mika had beaten three people already, she only needed to beat Valindra to end the game.

Though he was still disappointed in her for not telling him anything, he was happy that she was winning her matches.

"Uh oh! Heading up, Ailwin... Delusional b***h alert...!" Braeden whisper into Ailwin's ear as Kamryn came trampling down the aisles steps towards them.

"Heh...funny." Celaena laughed hearing Braeden's words.

Ailwin looked over to where Braeden indicated, and saw a fl.u.s.tered Kamryn looking down at the stage.

Kamryn had been out shopping, enjoy the good weather with the other two students who were supposed to fight Mika in arena today. Of course, they all thought that she wouldn't be able to make it pa.s.sed her first opponent, let her third.

When their comms went off with messages from the student council concerning the change to the matches, she and her companions thought that it was just alerting them of their wins. Choosing to ignore it, they continue to shopping around.

It wasn't until they were sitting in a restaurant that one of them took out their tablet to check the message, that they realize they both had forfeited the match due to being "no-shows".

Knowing what was at stake, the girls threw a huge fit in the restaurant. Kamryn had to call some of Prince Thallan's guards to fight off the two girls and pay the owner of the eatery for damages.

Mortify at the commotion the two ladies caused, Kamryn swiftly left the scene and call Lula to find out what was going on. Unfortunately, Lula was not answering her calls.

Left with no other choice, she made her way the academy's stadium. Looking up at the monitors, Kamryn saw that there were x's over the three students' faces she hired to fight Mika.

She beat them all?...How!?

Looking back down at the stage she saw the table and the cards.

"What the f**k is this!?" 

Spotting Ailwin in a judge's seat, she made her way to him to find out what was going on.

"Excuse me...move out of the way...move!" Pus.h.i.+ng the other spectators and nudging Hycis out of his seat with her hip, she was able to sit behind Ailwin.

"Prince Ailwin, do you know why we are playing cards?" 

"Apparently, Miss Mikaela was challenged by six compet.i.tors but none of them fill out the section asking what they should battle in. Since Miss Mikaela is their opponent, it was left for her to decide and she chose this...General's Bounty." Ailwin explained as the next round of cards were dealt. 

Those idiots...! Kamryn wanted to scream. "Aww...that's so unfortunate! Shouldn't they get another chance to decide what the battle should be? I mean, it's not very fair to them, they came to fight...everyone came to see a fight, not some card game. Right...?" Kamryn laughed not understanding why everyone was giving her weird looks.

"Princess... Miss Mikaela has to face SIX opponents. Even if it's a card game, it will still be tough for her to win against every person. Do you think?" Dean Eolith commented.

"Ha...right. You're right. I...I forgot that she..." Everyone turned away from Kamryn and focus on the match.

Those imbeciles lost to Mika at a c.r.a.ppy card game! There were four of them...!  Kamryn like everyone else turned her attention to stage. 

Valindra just won another round. Feeling like she might just make it out of this, she began gloating.

"You know...when I got the call for this game, I was in the process of rearranging our room. Don't you think it's time you move out...?" Valindra laughed as she won another round.

Mika watched as Valindra's face transformed from one of petrified mouse to one of arrogant cat. 

Round after round, Mika had been counting the cards. She knew the time was now to make her move.

Valindra regaining her pompousness att.i.tude, going to be an added bonus to this victory. It's going to be fun popping her ballon...

"Player 1, bet?" The referee looked to Mika.

"All in."

"All in?"

"Yes" 

"Player 4...?" The referee asked, even thought he knew she had no choice but to bet the same.

"All in!"

The referee dealt out the cards. Looking at Valindra he asked, "Player 4...hit?"

Before Valindra could answer, Mika stood up and showed her cards.

"General's Bounty (BlackJack/21)..." Game over.

The audience went wild. Cheers and shouts, were raining down on Mika from the bleachers for her amazing win.

Valindra was stuck staring at the two cards across from her in horror.
