12 Years Later

Mika sat down in front of her mirror while her maid Saavi comb out her hair. It had been hard at first letting people do things for her. Though when she realize she would never have to wash her clothes, Mika didn't denied her prominence status in this life. Letting the joys of the high life, shower her with pleasurable indulgence.

Lady Lyra peeked into her daughter's room. When Mika was growing up Lyra though she would be a hand full, if her pregnancy was any indication. Despite Mika curious and eccentric personality, she never gave Lyra a hard time. In fact whenever she would teach, Mika would give all her attention to her without complaint.

Sometimes Mika would seem like she was older than she was. Like now, Mika sat at her vanity not rus.h.i.+ng the maids and they fussed about her hair and clothes. She just took it all in stride.

Shaking her head, Lyra walked fully into the room.

"Still not done?" Surprised by the sudden appearance of their Lady. The maids quickly bowed the heads, and made room her Lyra to see her daughter.

Having been taught by her mother from a young age to be graceful. Mika was now just as good as her mother in terms of her manners.

Gently lowering into a curtsy, Mika stood there waiting for her mother inspection.

"Good...good Mika. You'll soon start schooling. I'm was a little nervous as this will be your first time leaving the household, but seeing you right now....I have faith you will do well."

This was the first time Mika has saw her mother this way. Lyra had always let Mika be independent within the clan's household. Unlike the other young misses of the head clan's household, Mika already has full authority of her courtyard. So, seeing her mother's worried expression now, left Mika feeling uneasy.

"Is there something wrong?" Mika questioned her mother.

Looking towards the maids still standing around, Mika took the hint and dismisses the maids from her room.

Once the door closed behind the last maid. Lyra moved Mika into her bedroom. Sitting Mika down on her bed; Lyra gave one last skim around the room, making sure no one was around. Putting the only chair in the room in front of her daughter, Lyra sat down. Reaching out she took hold of Mika's hands.

"In a few minutes I will take you to a place. We will have to move fast and quietly. Don't ask any questions until we have reach our final destination...okay?"

The grave atmosphere her mother was creating, let Mika know how serious this was.

Nodding her head, Lady Lyra stared into Mika's eyes for a few seconds longer, to make sure she understood her completely. This brief look allowed Lyra to see clear eyes without any hint of fear.

A knock was heard at the door, before Pia walked in.

"Everything is ready Lady Lyra."

"You stay behind and cover for us. If anyone other than Lord Mano comes to see us, tell them we have gone to the market square to shop for Mika's schooling. Well be back late in the evening, okay."

"Don't worry, this is not my first time. I will handle everything, go with ease." Pia smiled as she rushed them out the door.

They walked at a fast pace, yet it seem as if they weren't in at all hurry. Opening the courtyard's back gate, Lyra went through first making sure the coast was clear before pulling Mika along. The second they were outside, Mika saw a shuttle car door unlatch for them. Tugging Mika aboard Lyra secure the door shut before making her way the driver seat.

Mika will never tired of see the technology of this world. In the beginning she thought she was in primitive world. Logical from seeing the people she was born into. You always link a specie with pointy ears being adverse to the technology, but when she got her first good look at the clan 'household', it was more like a palace out of a sci-fi novel.

Although plants of different variety covered every single place of this land, their lavatories are even more hi-tech than the human s.h.i.+p she had been on in her past life.

Leaving her need for exploration a side Mika, jump into the pa.s.senger seat and buckle in. Watching her mother operate the shuttles drive. Mika was impression by the fluidness of her mother actions. She needed to get her mother to teach her how to drive before she goes off to school.

Turning around Lyra looked to make sure Mika was buckled in securely. Catching the look of yearning in her daughter's eyes, Lyra smiled.

"Don't worry I'll teach you how to drive before leaving for schooling." Having gotten what she wanted Mika settled in for the ride.

Lyra lifted the shuttle car into the sky and drove them towards their destination.
