Two months into their expedition, the Shadow Wolves army saw flying over the southwestern border of Kaia Kingdom. The location was filled with nothing but desert canyons and dense forests.

"Commander, where should we land?" Ailwin's head pilot asked after seeing the dire landscape.

"There should be a city a few meters from here, see if you can located it on the navigation..."

His men went about scanning the area for sign of civilization, when a distress signal blare on the pilot's comm.

"Commander, here is an emergency comm coming from 100 meter north of here. Should we respond?"

"Yes." Ailwin remember the King telling him of the conflict happening in this area, perhaps this distress call was from city.

Fifty meters and closing in on the emergency beacon, everyone in the command deck could see a mid-size city with numerous fires creating smoke towers into the sky.

"What the h.e.l.l is going on?" Braeden like the others on deck stared at the site before them.

In the highest structure in the city, the governor sat in his office holding his head in dismay.

"Sir!… Sir!" One of his advisors came running through his door.

"What is it?"

"Someone has finally replied to our signal, they are heading this way…!"

Lifting up his head in surprise, the governor couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"You sure they are one of ours..." Though this was happy news he didn't want to let his emotions lead him into an emeny trap.

"Yes, sir. We can even see their aircrafts coming this way." The advisor's confident face and words, lifted a boulder off of the boss' shoulders.

"Quickly…prepare the landing bays and make sure that they are given safe pa.s.sage to land…" The governor, a tall stout man with a full head of white hair, ran out his door to make sure everything is done.

Ailwin looked around the area and could tell that the fires were controlled and not burning down the buildings in the city.

"General Gilwenys, get me info on this city and any population count you find…" Ailwin had a bad feeling about this.

"Yes, sir." Braeden left the deck and headed towards their office. Typing in the coordinates of the city, he waited for the information to come in. After ten minutes of searching, there was only meager data concerning this southwestern city.

Back on deck he presented the details to Ailwin.

"This is it?"

"Yes, that was all I could find on the city. Even the governor's name was hard to find." Braeden shook his head.

"It says here that the population count as of two years ago was 100,000."

"Yeah…?" Braeden had looked at the info before giving it to Ailwin, so he knew what the popluation count was.

"The streets are empty…" Ailwin pointed to the screen that showed the city's streets.

"Commander, they are sending us a location on where they want us to land."

"Go, and send out an message to the other crafts to be ready to attack." With Ailwin's orders the tension in the room rosed to a new level. All the soldiers were now edgy.

Moments later all the aircrafts were landing and the governor with his advisors were staying at the edge of the docking platforms.

Ailwin had bought roughly about a quarter of his men with him on this expedition the King sent him on; and although he left most of his army back home, there was still five huge aircrafts docking on the city's platforms.

When the governor and his advisors saw the ma.s.sive carriers, he wanted to cry. For months him and his advisors had been sending out the distress beacons with no replies. To see these enormous carriers now made the wait worth it.

Ailwin had his men on the other four aircraft wait on standby while he took some the soldiers in his carrier with him to greet the officials.

Suited up, the carrier's doors opened and Ailwin and Braeden stepped off with fifty soldier armed and ready to attack.

The governor didn't see nor feel the hostility coming off of the men standing behind Ailwin and Braeden. All he saw was his saviors. Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click for visiting.

"h.e.l.lo," Bowing the governor wanted to prostrate on the ground towards Ailwin but his advisors stopped him in time, "my name is Hamon, I am the governor of city. Allow me to thank you for saving us."

Ailwin and everyone else behind him was confused. What exactly were they saving this city from? From as far as they could tell, the city wasn't under any attack.

"Governor, what is it that is plaguing the city?"

"It's exactly as you have said...a plague."
