"The whole city thought the agronomists the Bizana clan brought with them were here to help us…but one day, one of the groups they would send out into the canyons didn't come back. Everyone thought they likely came across a wind storm and had to camp in one of the caves out in the canyons. We weren't worried at the time...but when the second and third day past without any signs of them, everyone started thinking the worst."

"You sent people to go look for them." Ailwin spoke, guessing the governor's next move.

"En...I tried to, but the agronomists wouldn't give me the location to were they sent the group. We were only able to search the general area in the canyons for two more days before finding them. By that time a week had already past, and out of six man group only two survived."

"What happened to them?"

"We don't know. They had abrasions and bruises all over their bodies, and they were severely dehydrated. When we asked them where is the rest of their party, they wouldn't talk. The healers said they were too traumatized by whatever happened to them. So, we could only make guesses..." Kelim walked to his desk and showed pictures of the two men when they were found.

"After we were able to save the two men, the Bizana clan and the agronomists who originally had been indifferent to the whole search and rescue, began to show much interest in the men. They took them from the healers' center in the city and had them transferred to their clan's personal healers. I wanted to stop them, but the Bizana clan had paid off the men's family members." Governor Kelim shook his head and looked down at his hands. The scene of those men entering the Bizana clan against his better judgement haunted his dreams sometimes.

"What happened to the men after that? Did they make a recovery…" Braeden asked when Governor Kelim was in his thoughts.

"Um, no. I don't know what happened to those men after they entered the clan's compound. To be truthfully honest, I stop thinking about those men at that time. I shouldn't have I know, but I just didn't think that something like this would come of it…" Kelim held his hands out wide looking around his office as he did.

"What do you mean?"

"Shortly after that incident, some of the citizens who worked for them began to get sick. However, this time the Bizana clan and the agronomists were all over it. No news reached my ears until one of my advisors heard about it from one of her neighbors. Soon the family members of their workers started getting sick and the healers' center was full of patients," Kelim sighed and then turned his head to look out of the window,  "...They had kept it hidden from us until it became too much for them to contain…"

"What were they trying to contain?"

"I can't tell you for sure… they wouldn't respond to any of my questions, they wouldn't even let me enter their estate. Feeling that something horrid was happening, I had the guards close the city's gate and deny anyone from leaving. I then use my authority as Governor of this city and the guards to demand see to the people they have taken into their estate."

"Did you get to see inside?"

"No, a battle broke out between their soldiers and the city's guards. Out numbered, I knew the guards wouldn't have a chance against their soldiers. I didn't want to see my men lose their lives, so I called them back." After taking a sip of his tea, Kelim stared into his mug, "Instead, I came back here to notified the capital of was is going on and what the Bizana clan was doing."

"En...What happened after that? Did the capital sent people out...?" Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click for visiting.

"No...six days after my comm was sent out, the Bizana clan leader and some of his agronomists barged into my office and took control of the city."

"What!?" Surprised by his answer, Ailwin looked at Kelim in disblief and Braeden was trying to clear away the tea in his throat from choking him.

"Yes, they showed me my comm and then pa.s.sed me a sign doc.u.ment saying I would be relieved of my duties effective immediately. They had their soldiers with them as they escorted me and my men out of the building and to our homes. They kept us under house arrest for two months."
