Honey : The Empire's Treasure 335 Blood Work 3

Mika tried to have some of her nanos attack Ailwin's white blood cells. Regrettable, they moment they did, they too lost their little itty bitty lives like the virus.

Pulling the rest of them out of the blood sample. Mika turned to take a second look at Braeden's sample again. Inside the scanner, she could see that most of the original blood platelets were gone, and the virus was taking their place.

His blood soon turned a dark almost blue-black color. It was getting difficult for her to even see through the sample.

Increasing the light exposure on the scanner to its highest setting, she took a look at the sample again to see that the virus' structure had indeed changed. They now looked like the original platelets minus the color.

"What the F**K!" Mika has never seen anything like this, she couldn't explain what was going on in front of her eyes right now.

"Mika...What's wrong with my blood?" Ailwin whispered again when she didn't answer him.

"I...I don't know….I need more time." Mika hung up before he continued to ask questions she didn't know the answers to.

Okay, Mika. Let's take this slow. She said to herself as she took a deep breath and released it, renewing her focus on the samples under the scanners.

Ailwin didn't understand what that was all about but he hoped it meant she was close to having a breakthrough to solving this sickness.

Going back inside the center, he watched as Ruven was trying to get out of bed.

"What do you think you are doing?" 

Ruven turned his head to see who was talking and realized it was Prince Ailwin.

"I feel better now, I thought I should go offer my a.s.sistance…"

"Really...where?"

"...maybe the group from the before? I've been around Lord Elre before maybe I can shed some light on their situation."

"No...I believe they got that covered. However, if you want to help someone, I have a job you can do…." With Mika making head way on the cure, Ailwin didn't want to waste anymore time on Ruven.

"Okay…" Ruven didn't worry about the tablet, he figured he could alway get it later.

Walking out of the center and down towards the bas.e.m.e.nt where Ruven first showed him the broken panel board, Ailwin pushed Ruven into the room.

Once inside, Ruven was shock to see all the other 'government advisors' gathered there as well.

Ruven felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up.

"You can help me find some spies." Following Ailwin's words was the slamming of the door.

"S-spies….Prince Ailwin, I think you are mistaken here. There are no spies here only government officials." Ruven turned to look at the his accomplices, silently indicating for them to go along with his words.

"Yea…"

"We are just trying to help the citizens of this city."

"Prince Ailwin, why are you doing this?"

"Prince Ailwin, even thought you are a prince, there is still the law of this Kingdom!"

"I-I want to go home...*cries*"

Various complaints were heard coming from the group, making the room noisy.

"Quiet!" Nylian shouted out from the back of the room. Pus.h.i.+ng himself off the wall he was leaning on, he made his way over to stand in front of the sitting group.

"If you all have done nothing wrong then you have nothing to worry about, this questioning will go fast…." As he was still wearing his mask, the smile on his face made his rea.s.suring words sound threating.

"Shall we begin…?" 

The minute the group knew their tactics weren't going to work, they all dropped the act. Standing up, they thought the best option was to attack as Prince Ailwin only have three people with him against the eleven of them.

The room was thick with tension. Everyone could feel that the slightest movement would cause a blood bath to break out.

Ruven held his breath as he slowly let the dagger hidden in his sleeve slide down his forearm. 

This is probably the best chance I'm going to get to kill him. After this he will definitely be on his guard against me…

Ruven thought to himself as he was trying to gauge the best advantage point to lauch his sneak attack.
