Honey : The Empire's Treasure 343 Prey Vs. Predator? 2

The monster's long claws reach over the edge of the rooftop to pull itself up. It opened its mouth wide into a creepy smile when it saw both Mika and Ruven standing there waiting to be eaten.

Ruven turned to look at Mika, "...and this is when I leave you." In the next moment Ruven closed his eyes and prepare to teleport himself away to the next building over. 

"I can understand why you want to close your eyes in front of such a monster, but you should really try to put up a fight before surrendering to your death."

Mika's voice right beside his ear made Ruven jump in fright.

Wha...Why is she still beside me!?

Looking to his left then to right and finally in front, Ruven could see he didn't move at all. He stayed right in the same as before.

"What the h.e.l.l!"

"Sigh, I told you it was a bad plan to teleport that thing here... Well, good luck!" With her parting remarks, Mika pushed Ruven in front of her and jetted towards the stairwell.

"Aaargh!" Finding himself being shoved into the waiting mouth of a hungry monster, Ruven couldn't help but to scream.

Noticing the tasty meal was delivering itself onto its plate, the monster open its jaws wide to chew Ruven right up. The sharp jagger teeth and the pitch black mouth was waiting for Ruven to fall in.

Seeing his life was about to end, Ruven pulled out his dragger and threw it at the creature's eye.

*Screeeeeeeeech!*

A painful scream left its mouth as it tried to shake the weapon from its eyeball, only to see its meal racing towards the stairswell.

Angry at being hurt and losing an eye, the monster chased after Ruven's fleeting figure. 

"F**k!" Ruven exclaimed after making it to the stairwell's entrance just as the creature's claws swiped at his head.

 Throwing himself into the stairs, his body began to roll down a couple of steps.

When he wanted to right his body to walk down, big claws reached in to try to pull him out.

Obviously the monster's body was too big to fit in the entrance, but that didn't stop it from trying to reach in to tear Ruven apart. Looking at how close he came to losing his life, Ruven patted his chest before quickly turning running down the steps.

That freakin' brat pushed me! 

Forgetting that he should figure out why he couldn't teleport , Ruven went hunting for Mika.

When I get my hands on her!

Sprinting down the stairs, he stopped at the first level of the three floor building, quietly listening for any sound other than the roaring beast on the rooftop.

Searching through the whole floor, he felt confident that Mika wasn't here. Moving to the next floor, Ruven notice that he couldn't hear the monster's screeches any more.

Guessing that it probably moved away to look for food, he continued to walk down to the next floor.

Entering the second level, he put up his guard seeing that there was more places to hide than the last level. He figured she was hiding somewhere here.

"Come out, come out….wherever you are?" Ruven taunted.

Unfortunately for Ruven, Mika had kept running down the steps when she left the rooftop. She didn't stop until she ran outside and to the building across from the one he was in.

 Right now she was secretly watching him from the windows as he searched the second floor.

*Pant* *Pant* *Pant*

Sh*t! Why can't my legs be longer? I hate running!...I really hate it!

Holding her side as she catches her breath, Mika watched from the window what was going on across the way. 

Picking up paper from the desk, she wrote down something down before taping them to the window.

Annoyed with the lack of success at finding Mika, Ruven glanced out the window to see person waving at him from the building across from him.

Moving closer, he could see that it was actually the masked girl.

When did she make it over there!?

Seeing the she finally got his attention, Mika held up her paper again so he could read it.

You still alive?…. Darn!

This little runt!

Ruven was shouting and raging about in the room when he saw Mika holding up another sign.

This time it just had an arrow pointing to his left.

Looking over in the direction the arrow was pointing he saw the monster hanging from the wall as it was about to send its claws through the floor to ceiling windows.

"s.h.i.+t!"

*Boom!* *Cras.h.!.+* *Shatter!*

The gla.s.s and metal rain down on Ruven's body as he tried to make his getaway.
