Honey : The Empire's Treasure 341 Spill The Beans

Prince Ailwin entered the bas.e.m.e.nt room just as Hycis and Celaena was setting up a cam.

"Quickly, Prince Ailwin...I think its about to wear off...." Nylian tugged Ailwin towards the tied up advisors.

"Go ahead ask them anything…" He urged when Ailwin stood still in front of the group.

"Alright, why are you here?" Ailwin bent down in front of the first advisor that was in his sight.

"Tsk…" The person he happens to be crouching in front of is the leader of this squadron that was sent to this city.

The man wanted to curse his own luck. Not only did they get captured by their enemy, they also couldn't keep their mouths shut even if their lives depended on it.

He doesn't know what these mask people gave them or when, but his people were singing like a tweety birds.

It took all of his strength to not answer any of their questions at the start of the interrogation, however having Prince Ailwin in his face asking him direct questions, made all his previous perseverance seem nonexistent.

"We were sent here to test you."

"Test me for what?" Ailwin was taken a back by the honest response.

"To see if you can stay alive after being infected."

"By the monsters?"

"….yes."

"So all of this," Ailwin spread his hands out wide, "was just for me?"

"No, we also needed to find…" The man tried to shut his lips, yet even biting them proved futile.

"Need to find WHAT?" Ailwin grabbed the lapels of the man's coat, dragging him off the floor.

"Ts-tree!...We needed to find a tree!" The man's face was turning red under Ailwin's hold.

Releasing him, the man fell to ground.

Ailwin looked at all of their prisoners, "So, it's true. You guys really are trying to find Queen a.n.a.lise's tree." 

The rest of the group hung their heads down low, afraid that the next person Prince Ailwin will ask will be one of them.

Turning to look back at Nylian, Hycis and Celaena, who were recording the prisoners' words, Ailwin asked, "How long will the Snitch injections work for?"

"Lady Minx said for four hours.... Two and a half hours have already pa.s.sed." Celaena answered.

"Good." Ailwin had inquired what the liquid inside some of the vials Mika had in her trunk were. One of them happens to be a drug that she personally invented, it make its victims lose the power to lie or stay silent.

She called it Snitch. Why she would invent something like this, he didn't questioned. He just nodded his head before walking away.

After checking the time, he realized he has a good hour left to interrogate these guys. Looking back the frighten individuals, he showed a rare smile.

"Since you guys are being so open, lets continue with the Q&A, shall we?"

Ailwin grilled them about anything and everything he could think of. The men and women on the floor dry cried tears of agony as they knew they will never be able to go back to their organization after this. If they could have bitten their tongues off, they would have.

Ailwin finally stopped his questions after noticing that a couple of them were able to stop themselves from answering. He figured that the time was up and the drug must be wearing off soon.

When the group saw that the interrogtion was over, they breath a sigh of relief but then realized just how much information they had given up.

"What should we do with them now?" Hycis asked after stopping the recording and pa.s.sing the cam to Ailwin.

"Stuff their mouths, we'll move them to our carriers." Although a lot of information was given to him, he was sure they still had much more to give. He'll wait until they get back on the carrier before asking Mikaela for more of the Snitch drug.

Nylian and Hycis were happy to be done with the interrogation. Quite frankly, the whole thing freaked them both out. They had never seen people fight with themselves to keep silent. The prisoners had did more damage to themselves during the whole interrogation than they did.

"That's it?" Celaena asked, quite bored with having done nothing for four hours except for listening to these people talk.

"…What else is there to do?" Hycis looked at the seven prisoners.

"I don't know….it just doesn't seem right to end this without seeing someone scream out in pain from losing a finger…"

The four prosoners closest to Celaena heard her words and silently lament in their hearts, Why would you need to torture us after we had giving you everything you ask!
